RACE NIGHT RECAP

Mod-Mini
Green flag in the air for the Mod-Mini division, Terry Poore pulls off turn 4 and he’ll run Brad Pressley up the track a little bit, and Poore will take the lead off 4 with Chuck McMahan in the 3rd spot with Dave Lewis in 4th. Caution flies here on lap 3 as Darren Goins spins in turn 3.

Green flag in the air one more time, Poore leads the field into turn 4, with Pressley looking for room on the inside of Poore, can’t make it happen, he’ll fall in line. Off turn 4 he’ll stay glued to the bumper. Poore still leading the way here, Pressley in 2nd, and McMahan in 3rd as we complete lap 6. Eight laps in the books, Poore starting to show some smoke from his machine, and here comes Pressley, he’ll look inside Poore, but he can’t make it stick in turn 1, so he’ll fall in line behind Poore as we’re halfway done with this one, and the rain starts falling, so caution flies here for rain. The night has been rained out, we’ll complete the rest of the program Sunday, and we’ll call this feature complete.

Topless Modifieds
Green flag is out on the Chris Breeden Realty Executives Topless Modifieds Shoot-out on this gorgeous Sunday afternoon! Keith Gregory doesn’t get a very good start, and Mike Lewis takes the lead as they head into turn 3. Gregory will stay glued to the bumper of Lewis as they complete lap 1. Layne Clifton spins from the 3rd spot just behind them in turn 4 to bring out our first caution of the afternoon.

Green flag in the air, but Tyler James gets spun on the front stretch to bring out the caution again. Lewis off with the lead again, as Gregory falls in line, Ronnie King drives it deep in turn 3, he’ll make contact with Wayne James off turn 4, and he’ll bust a radiator and/or oil pan in turn 2, while Craig Gregg and Tyler James make contact to bring out the caution again on the front stretch. Tyler James is facing the front stretch wall for a 2nd time.

Green flag back in the air, Lewis leads them off turn 4 and down into turn 1. Gregory looking for a way around on the low side, as Wayne James looks to his outside, and off turn 2 on lap 3, Wayne James takes over 2nd, as Wayne James goes a little high, he’ll give Clifton the 2nd spot, as Clifton looks to close in on Mike Lewis. Clifton wants the lead here on lap 8, but caution flies as Gregg spins in turn 3 to bring out the caution one more time.

Green flag back in the air, Lewis leads them into turn 1, Clifton right on the bumper, he’ll chase him down the backstretch. Turn 3, Clifton looks to his inside, falls back in line, off turn 2, he’ll get a run down the backstretch, and Clifton is there, Lewis gets the advantage off turn 4, and takes it off turn 2 and pulls away a little more as we complete lap 10. Wayne James wants the win, he’ll get into Clifton, but Clifton pulls away a little bit. Clifton still on the bumper of Lewis as we complete 12 laps. Clifton looking inside off turn 4, gets loose, has to chase it, and now Gregory looks inside Wayne James, he’ll fall back in line. Clifton still working hard on Lewis, he’ll chase him into turn 3. Off turn 4, Clifton on the inside, he’ll fall back in line in turn 1. Off turn 2, he’ll look to make a couple good turns, he’ll look inside for the lead, gets loose again, and falls back into 2nd. Caution flies here as Tyler James spins in turn 1.

Green flag back in the air one more time, Lewis charges off turn 4, Clifton in tow, Wayne James in line. Clifton looks inside in turn 3, he’ll try to make it stick, can’t get the power down off turn 4. Just a few laps left in this one, Clifton can’t really mount a charge, there’s 2 grooves here, but he can’t get the power down. White flag in the air, Clifton all over Lewis, he’ll look inside off turn 4, he won’t have anything for Lewis, and Mike Lewis pockets the $500 winner‘s purse! Layne Clifton brings it home in 2nd, Wayne James takes 3rd, and 4th will be Keith Gregory.

Super Trucks
Green flag is out on the Super Trucks, and Cory Cate and Steve Hillard lead them into turn 1. Robbie Comer takes over the lead here on lap 2. Cate falls to 2nd, while Rocky Ogle is in 3rd. Clyde Stanton is in 4th trying to run down Ogle, as Comer has pulled away by some 10 car lengths as they complete lap 5. Stanton blows past Cate to take over 2nd here on lap 6, and he’ll try to run down Comer, as he’s about a half straightaway ahead now as they complete lap 10. Caution flies here on lap 12 as Rocky Ogle spins in turn 3.

Green flag back in the air, the caution is what Stanton wanted to see, he’ll look inside Comer for the lead, but Comer pulls away off turn 2. Comer isn’t getting far away from Stanton, as Stanton is trying everything he can to run Comer down. Checkers in the air, Comer picks up another feature win.

Street Stocks
Green flag in the air for the Street Stocks, will it be a good race or a crash’em up derby? We’ll know soon! Raymond Shepard and Quinn Bender lead them into turn 1. Shepard pulls off turn 2 to take the lead, but caution flies here already as Justin McCarter spins in turn 2, and he’ll pull off the speedway, and we’ll have a complete restart. McCarter pulls back out onto the speedway. Green flag in the air, and Shepard pulls off turn 3 with the lead, but Bender isn’t going far this time, and Phil Davis goes for the spin cycle in turn 1 off the front bumper of Larry Rudd, and caution flies again. Green flag one more time, will 3rd time be a charm? Shepard and Bender lead them in turn 1, and now Jason Long gets into the left rear of Shepard and spins him, Rudd has nowhere to go and runs all over Davis, Jason Ogle gets a piece of it as well, and Billy Sands piles into them about 10 seconds after they stopped, and caution flies again. And 3rd time wasn’t a charm, so the field will be lined up single file this time.

Green flag in the air again, Shepard leads them down into turn 1,, and now his hood has flown up, but he can still see! He’s still leading, with Bender in 2nd, Long in 3rd, very impressive! Shepard leading the race with the hood in his windshield, but Bender is trying to make a run. Shepard doesn’t need lapped traffic, but he’ll have at least 1 to catch up to, as we see Shepard getting the black flag here, but he’s still out front. And now caution flies here on lap 5 to take car of the hood issue. And Shepard will head into the pit area to the attention of his crew. What a tough break for Shepard, he definitely was out front and holding his own line, but the officials were concerned of his and other competitors safety and wanted him to get the hood back down or removed.

Green flag back in the air, Bender has inherited the lead, and will lead them off turn 4, with Long in 2nd and Rudd in 3rd, Rudd now gets into and spins Long in turn 2, and caution flies again here on lap 5. Green flag back in the air, Bender in the lead, Rudd in 2nd, and now Bryan McDaniel is making a run for 3rd, but Jon Cook takes over the 3rd spot here as they complete lap 6. Bender beginning to pull away now as Cook looks to take over the 2nd spot from Rudd, as Shepard is trying to come back, and white flag flies for Bender, as caution flies off turn 4 as Shepard and Ogle get together, and the field is on the backstretch now and doesn’t really care that the caution is out, as they go full throttle toward the incident in turn 4.

Green flag back in the air, Bender and Rudd your leaders, Cook falls in line in 3rd, gets a shove from McDaniel going into turn 3, white flag in the air. Cook sideways now as McDaniel bounces off the wall, off turn 4, Bender wins, 2nd goes to Cook by just a few inches, and this one is finally over.

Classics
Green flag in the air for the Classics, and we’re hoping we can get some laps in this one, maybe all 20! Marvin Ray quickly takes over the top spot, Bart Baxter in 2nd, and Adam Engel in 3rd. Caution flies here on lap 2 as Phil Blackford spins in turn 3. Green flag in the air one more time, and they complete lap 3 with Engel all over the rear of Baxter, but they’re both chasing Ray at this point. Caution flies as Atkins has spun off turn 4 here on lap 5.

Green flag back in the air, Ray drifts a little high in turn 2, that’ll open the door for Baxter to peek inside, nothing doing, as caution flies here on lap 7 as Adam Engel spins in turn 2.

Green flag back in the air, Ray leads them down into turn 3, Baxter in 2nd, points leader Andy Ogle in 3rd and Jay Eubanks in 4th. Eubanks looking for a way around Ogle, as Baxter is looking to challenge for the lead, but the caution is out here on lap 8 as Atkins spins in turn 3, that’s his 2nd caution.

Green flag back in the air one more time, Ray leads them down into turn 1, Baxter in 2nd, Eubanks looking for room to the inside of Ogle, Ogle drifts high, Eubanks looking to open the door, he’ll fall in line though. Baxter still all over Ray for the lead, he’ll peek inside, but fall back in line. Eubanks claims the 3rd position, and Engel spins in turn 3 and caution flies soon after.

Green flag back in the air, as flagman Mark Bailes sneaks in the green flag on the field, Ray continues to lead, Baxter falls in 2nd, Eubanks in 3rd. Baxter still hunting for the lead, Ray drifts up, Baxter still right there waiting for a mistake, and Ray sees the white flag, Baxter on the inside, he’ll try to chase him down, nothing doing, they’ll race around the spun car of Atkins in turn 3, and Marvin Ray will pick up the win!

Late Models
Green flag in the air for the late models, how will they fare in the slick conditions? Justin Summers powers to the lead, Adam Beeler blasts into 2nd, and he’ll spin in front of the field in turn 4, what a nice save on everybody’s part to miss that. Complete restart coming up.

Green flag back in the air. Summers off with the lead, Brad Lowe takes 2nd this time, Beeler in 3rd, and Ryan King in 4th, with Jason Cardwell looking, but caution flies as Barrett Terry and Josh Henry get together in turn 2.

Green flag in the air one more time, Summers leads the field into turn 1, Lowe falls in 2nd, with Beeler in 3rd and King in 4th. Beeler looking for room around Lowe off turn 4, as the action is heating up for 4th, as Cardwell goes way low, and King gets the spot back, but now they’ll battle more, as Lee Knight gets sideways and we stay green and complete lap 6. Summers beginning to pull away now over Lowe and Beeler. Beeler is all over Lowe, as Josh Collins is moving up through the field nicely today, already up to the 4th spot after starting 7th. Summers now starting to get into some lapped traffic here on lap 10, he’ll by-pass Dylan Lowe down the backstretch. Beeler looking for room around Lowe, pretty much waiting for a mistake at this point. King gets split by Danny Floyd and Terry, the track is definitely slick, but these guys are putting on a great show in the back. Beeler and Lowe still battling, as Summers starts closing in on the back of the field, as we complete halfway. Summers’ tires seem to be giving up, as Lowe has closed the gap, and Beeler looks to make a run for the win as well. Summers drives away a little as Lowe gets slowed up by lapped traffic. Summers puts another lap on Dylan Lowe here on lap 17, Summers only a half straightaway from more lapped traffic, as Collins is coming. Collins has nailed the setup as he’s caught up with Lowe, but now Beeler has taken the 2nd spot. Collins now looks for room, as you can put the top 4 under a blanket here on lap 20 as Lee Knight stalls in turn 3 and Robby Moses spins a little bit after that, and caution will fly.

Green flag back in the air, Summers only has 10 laps to hold them off. Beeler looks for the lead, but caution flies as Floyd and King get together here off turn 4. Green flag in the air one more as Summers lead them off turn 4, Lowe powers to the outside to try to run from the 3rd to 1st, that won’t work, and he’ll pound the outside wall hard just past the pit opening, he’ll careen off and back into the middle of the field, a lot of nice evasive action being taken, and caution flies here on lap 20, and Brad Lowe is the only driver to get damage, and he has about ripped the right-front wheel completely out of the car. Tough break for Brad Lowe, he was trying to make an impressive move, but just ran out of real estate off turn 2.

Green flag back in the air one more time, Summers pulls off with the lead, but here comes Collins, he’ll look to the outside, and he too will run out of room off turn 2 just like Brad Lowe, but he’ll get back in line, and now Pierce McCarter looks for room, as Beeler looks inside for the lead, Summers powers off turn 4 with the lead, Beeler gets loose, as Collins takes over 2nd now. Collins running down Summers, he’s got it stuck way up high, he’ll motor down the backstretch, it’s only a matter of time I’m sure. Summers down low, Collins up high, Collins POWERS inside in turn 3, washes up, and Summers tries the crossover, doesn‘t work as Collins motors away off turn 4 with the lead. Summers in 2nd, now he’ll give Beeler the 2nd spot, as his tires have went away, give Beeler the 3rd spot. Checkers in the air, Collins claims win #9, Beeler 2nd, and Summers in 3rd. What a great race!

Pure Mini
Green flag in the air for the Pure-Mini’s, points leader Mike Townsend leads them off turn 2, but they’re 4 wide for the 3rd spot, James Mitchell takes the lead, David Singleton in 2nd, Dalton King in 3rd, as this thing is wild! Anthony Singleton in 4th and Daniel Lawson in 5th. David Singleton takes over the lead here on lap 5, and Mitchell spins, but we stay green. Caution flies as Phillip Ingram blows up on the backstretch.

Green flag back in the air, Dalton King looking on the inside for the lead, he’ll fall in line off turn 2. And now David Singleton catches up to the slower car of Tim Dyer, David Singleton won’t even slow down or try to avoid, and he’ll run completely over and through Dyer’s machine on the front stretch, and David Singleton sends Tim Dyer for a WILD ride along the frontstretch just past the flagstand, and Dyer barrel rolls about 4 or 5 times down the frontstretch, and the red flag will fly here! Dyer is out of the car, he is okay. David Singleton is put to the rear, and on the next restart, he will make contact with Lawson, and David Singleton will be removed from the track, and James Mitchell will go on to pick up the win!
