Mod-Mini Green flag back in the air, Poore powers inside Berkley for the 2nd spot, but now Berkley looks to reclaim the 2nd spot, but he’ll fall in line, as we see Cate turn Perry in turn 4 to bring out the caution one more time here on lap 8. Green flag back out on the field, and Spivey will pick up where he left off as he’ll pull off turn 2 with the lead, but here comes Berkley, he pulls inside Poore for the 2nd position, as Brad Pressley has moved up into the 4th position. Berkley now under pressure from Pressley, as Cate briefly makes it 3 wide off turn 4 for the position, but he’ll make contact and fall back in line, as he and Perry are trying to get around Berkley for the 3rd position, it’s a 4 way battle for the 3rd position with 5 laps to go. Spivey still your leader, and he’s still smoking, as we see Cate pull into the pit area, so it’s a 3 way battle for the 3rd position, as Pressley is challenging Berkley for the 3rd spot, and now he’ll find himself being challenged from behind by Perry. Spivey’s motor appears to be blowing up, as we see flames under the car, and with only 1 lap left, can that motor last? Off turn 4, Spivey’s motor does last and he’ll gets the checkers, Poore in 2nd, and 3rd is Berkley. Topless Modifieds Green flag back in the air for the Topless Mods. Chase King will lead them to the green, and down into turn 1, but Lewis wants the lead, but he can only fall in line at this point, but he’ll stay close to the bumper of Chase King. Not a lot of action in this one, as the field got single file until the checkers flew. Classics Late Models Green flag back in the air. Weeks hauls it down into turn 1, but now Jason Cardwell spins off turn 2, several others will spin as well, and nobody will get damage in this one. A lot of real nice driving through the field for these late model drivers to avoid the spinning cars. Cardwell will rejoin the field at the rear. Green flag back in the air, Weeks will lead them into turn 1, several cars bounce around with the rough surface in the lower portion of turn 1, but all make it by fine. Giffin on the inside to challenge for the 2nd spot, but Lowe will hold him off as we complete 7 laps. Lowe sideways trying to run down Weeks, he’ll pull up to the rear bumper heading into turn 1 here on lap 8, but will stay in line. Weeks and Lowe still your leaders, Giffin in 3rd and Gardner in 4th, as Weeks will soon have to battle lapped traffic as well as a challenge from Lowe from behind. Hall slows and pulls into the pit area here on lap 11, and we stay green. Weeks and Lowe still your leaders as we complete 14 laps. David Crabtree has snuck his way up to battle Gardner and Giffin, Gardner looking outside of Giffin as they head into turn 3, now dives inside Giffin and they make contact, but no trouble. Crabtree pulls inside Gardner as they head into turn 1, but the leader is still Mike Weeks. He and Lowe are setting an incredible pace now, as they’ve caught Mark Rosner, and Weeks now puts a lap on Rosner as they head into 3 on lap 20. The next victim for Weeks is the car of Jason Manley, Weeks will pull inside and drive away, as he’s caught a 3 car battle, but now he’ll dive inside Henry going into turn 3, Henry doesn’t see him down there, cuts to the low line, and Weeks drives over the left-rear of Henry, and Manley spins behind them and collects Giffin, and caution will fly here on lap 22. Green flag back in the air for the late models, Weeks dives into turn 1 with the lead, and will pick up where he left off, as Lowe falls in 2nd, but the battle rages again for the 3rd spot. Crabtree roughs up Giffin for the 3rd spot, as Pierce McCarter spins in turn 4 here on lap 23, collecting Ryan King and Adam Beeler. Green flag back in the air with 17 laps to go. Weeks leads the charge into turn 1, as Crabtree takes a look inside Lowe for 2nd, but he’ll fall in line off turn 2. Stephen Rogers, the son of Rick Rogers and grandson of the late Buddy Rogers, out there holding his own so far, he’s not up running with the leaders, but he’s getting valuable seat time and doing a great job tonight, and so far, holding off 2009 champ Cardwell. Back up front, Weeks starting to check out, as Crabtree powers to the inside of Lowe for 2nd spot, Crabtree now in 2nd spot and trying to run down Weeks, meanwhile in the back, Rogers has lost the handle and has fallen behind Cardwell. Crabtree running down Weeks, he wants to take the $1,000 home. He’s on the bumper of Weeks, he looks inside off turn, but he’ll fall in line as we have 8 laps to go. Crabtree is there, he’s on the bumper of Weeks, Weeks has a hiccup off turn 4, but still not enough to give up the lead, as the leaders catch lapped traffic. But Gardner will slow to a stop on entry into turn 1, and caution will fly here with only 5 laps to go. Green flag back in the air for the late models, it’s a $1,000 five lap shootout. Weeks leads them off turn 2, Giffin inside Lowe for 3rd, but Lowe holds on. Crabtree looks inside Weeks for the lead, they’ll make contact, 2 laps left, Crabtree all over Weeks, looking for room around, waiting for a mistake, white flag in the air. Crabtree outside for the lead down the backstretch, he‘ll power on the outside and will take the lead by a nose through 3 and 4, Weeks down low, Weeks gets the power through turn 4 and will pull a slidejob on Crabtree, and Mike Weeks will cruise to the $1,000 checkers off turn 4! |
