Bobby Zaiontz, Jerod Roller victorious in night 2 of Thunder in the Smokies

Another great night of racing is in the books at 411 Motor Speedway, and it was a record crowd! The first feature of the night was Street Stocks, where Dale Watson claimed the win, but it was not easy as Travis Reno first challenged before fading and suffering mechanical issues, then Gary Blanken would challenge for the win, but just couldn’t find a way around the Watson machine. The next feature was the USCS 600cc Micro Sprints, as we would see Bobby Zaiontz claim the win over Chris Openshaw and Mike Magic. Next up was the Limited Late Models as Josh Collins used the high line — and every inch of it — to claim win #2. Scott Gardner and Bobby Giffin rounded out the top 3, and finally, Jerod Roller “rolled” through lap traffic to claim the USCS 360 Sprints victory, his first-ever USCS victory, over Tim Crawley and Aaron Ruetzel.

In Topless action, Keith Gregory continued his dominance, remaining undefeated in 4 races this season. David Singleton survived a protest to claim the win in Mini-Stock after being declared legal. In Classic action, defending champion Adam Engel wore out the competition to claim the win. Next up with a heated battle for the win in the NeSmih Crate Late Model, as David Crabtree held off several challenges for the win, even briefly losing the lead late in the race, but was able to recover quickly. In Street Stock, Gary Blanken went 2 in a row, and Adam Beeler led flag-to-flag in the Limited Late Models only to get protested, which he declined. Josh Collins was awarded his first win of the season.
