Gregory continues TM hot-streak; Collins awarded LLM victory

Another action-packed night is in the books at 411 Motor Speedway, and the action was fast and furious again. In Topless action, Keith Gregory continued his dominance, remaining undefeated in 4 races this season. David Singleton survived a protest to claim the win in Mini-Stock after being declared legal. In Classic action, defending champion Adam Engel wore out the competition to claim the win. Next up with a heated battle for the win in the NeSmih Crate Late Model, as David Crabtree held off several challenges for the win, even briefly losing the lead late in the race, but was able to recover quickly. In Street Stock, Gary Blanken went 2 in a row, and Adam Beeler led flag-to-flag in the Limited Late Models only to get protested, which he declined. Josh Collins was awarded his first win of the season.

Next up on the schedule is the USCS Sprint Cars “Thunder in the Smokies” featuring 2 divisions of the USCS Sprint Cars! Joining the Sprints will be the Limited Late Models for $1,500 to win, $200 to start feature ($100 entry), and the Street Stocks for $500 to win with no entry fee! Gates will open Saturday at 4:00p, with the drivers meeting at 5:30 and hotlaps following at around 5:45.  Adult grandstands will be $15, tier will be $20, and pits will be $35. Kids 6-11 will be $5 in the stands, $10 in tier, and $15 in the pits (all ages under 11), with kids 5 and under being free in both the stands and tier! See you Saturday at Tennessee’s Action Track!!

Johnny Ridings and Keith Gregory the front row, green flag in the air! Gregory takes the lead here with Paul Johnson in 2nd, Ridings in 3rd. Marvin Romines in the 4th spot, now with 2 laps on the board. Throw a blanket over the top 3 as 7 laps are complete, Gregory, Johnson, Ridings your top 3. Johnson still on the heels of Gregory, Gregory has his hands full with lap traffic. Now 14 laps are in the books, Gregory has opened up the lead a bit over Johnson, and he’s driven away from Ridings slightly. Now only 3 laps remain, Johnson looking for room around Gregory, make it 2 to go. Checkers in the air, Gregory takes the win, Johnson comes home 2nd, Ridings in 3rd.

Green flag in the air for the Mini Stocks and already a wild one here. David Singleton out front, Tommy Metler in 2nd, Keith Sands in 3rd, with a mirror full of Sam Burgess on his bumper. Now 3 laps in the books, Gavin Murphy goes around on the frontstretch, spins into the infield, and that’s where he’ll stay and we will stay green. D. Singleton still the leader, now Lee Merritt around in turn 3, but K. Sands went around in turn 2 to bring out the caution here on lap 7. So Sands will fall to the rear and Merritt will retain his spot prior to the spin.

Green flag back in the air, Metler giving D. Singleton a run for his money, but off 2, D. Singleton gets the run. Now Metler goes around in turn 3, and caution flies here on lap 8.

Green flag back in the air, D. Singleton powers away again, Burgess in the 2nd spot now as Metler is trying to chase down the front of the field, still has 9 laps remaining. D. Singleton the leader, Burgess in 2nd, K. Sands in the 3rd spot with Mike Townsend in 4th. D. Singleton still in command, the gap is staying even back to Burgess. D. Singleton your winner, Burgess takes 2nd, 3rd goes to Metler! After the dust settled and the protesting was complete, D. Singleton got the win, Burgess was disqualified, and Metler was declared legal.

Bobby Pressley and Adam Engel is your front row, green flag in the air! Engel up top, he’ll get the advantage off turn 2. Pressley in 2nd, Cameron Skinner in 3rd, with Bart Baxter 4th, Marvin Ray in 5th and Ryan Coppock rounding out the field. Engel pulling away, Pressley in 2nd, Skinner in 3rd. And now we see the first caution of the night.

Green flag back in the air, Pressley slams the wall on the frontstretch, but we’ll stay green. Engel out in command, Baxter in 2nd, Skinner in 3rd. Checkers in the air, and that’s how they’ll finish.

David Crabtree and Ryan King the front row, looking for the green, GREEN FLAG!! Crabtree off with the jump, King in 2nd, Josh Henry in 3rd, Brad Seagle in 4th, dogfight through the field. Trevor Sise now sends Stone Fuller for a wild ride on the backstretch, several cars spin to avoid the incident, and caution will fly with 1 on the board.

Green flag back in the air, Crabtree with the jump into 1, King to his inside, can’t make it stick, Crabtree with the charge off 2, King in 2nd, Henry 3rd, Seagle and Sise with Sise on his inside off 4, give 4th to Sise. Caution flies here as Tony Lindsey goes around on lap 3.

Green flag back in the air, King on the inside of Crabtree into 1 again, won’t stick again as Crabtree powers off turn 2 with the lead. King in 2nd, Henry in 3rd, Sise and Seagle in tow. Robby Moses sneaks his way to the 6th spot with Johnny Phillips knocking on his door, looks inside, claims the spot into 1. Wes Tilley now closing in on Moses, with Marty Calloway on his inside. Tilley with a bump on the machine of Moses, Tilley on the inside into 3, they’ll drag race down the frontstretch. M. Calloway looking for room around both of them, but he’ll remain in line. Now halfway, 10 down, 10 to go. Crabtree at the point, King starting to reel him in, Henry and Sise looking to reel in both of them. King now gets a run on Crabtree, dives inside in turn 1, can’t make it stick so he’ll fall in line off 2. King still trying to reel in the leader, but now Fuller goes around in turn 2 here on lap 13.

Green flag back in the air, 3 way battle for the lead here, Henry and King make it 3 wide for a moment. Henry trying everything, washes up off turn 2, it’s going to be a nail biter. Henry again can’t make his car turn off 2, Crabtree has his hands full. Henry now clears King for the 2nd spot, so he’ll try to reel in the leader, but now caution flies as Phillips and Seagle get together in turn 1.

Green flag back in the air, Crabtree nails the gas, Henry dives inside into 1, can’t make it stick as Crabtree pulls away off 2. Henry trying to stay in touch, but now Curtis Thomas goes around in turn 4 as Henry briefly stole the lead off turn 2, but the caution negates it.

Green flag back in the air one more time, Henry tries to stay glued to Crabtree’s bumper, nothing doing this lap. Crabtree coming to the white flag, as Moses works his way around Tilley, but now Fuller passes both of them. Henry dives inside into 1, side by side off turn 2, they’ll single file off turn 4 with the white flag, Henry dives inside Crabtree, can’t make it stick, and Crabtree claims the lead for good off 2. Off turn 4, Crabtree with the win, Henry in 2nd, King comes home 3rd.

Gary Blanken and Bradly Lewelling your front row, ready to go, GREEN FLAG!! Lewelling with the advantage off turn 2, but Jeremy Hershner and Dale Watson tangle in the middle of 1 and 2, caution flies.

Complete restart, ready to go, Green flag! Blanken washes up slightly and makes contact with Lewelling, several cars get together, caution flies again. Josh Loveday, Brian Dinkins, Daniel Lawson all get a piece of it. Still no laps.

Now a complete restart coming, minus the ones that pulled into the pits for repair or flat tires, they will line up on the rear, but it’s a single file restart. Blanken the leader, Andrew Loving in 2nd, Travis Reno now in 3rd. Watson pulling in 4th, with Jon Cook on his tail. Now Dinkins has a flat right rear, his night will be done. 2 laps now in the books, Blanken your leader, Loving in 2nd as he drifts up close to the wall off 4, he’ll hold off Reno. Watson has pulled away from Cook now with 5 laps in the books. Now caution flies as Reno hits the wall hard in turn 3, tough break for him, 6 laps will be shown complete..

 

Blanken with the green flag, he’ll drift up high in turn 1, but he’ll hang onto his machine and the lead. Loving in 2nd, Watson in 3rd, Jonathan Sims in 4th, Lewelling in the 5th spot. 10 laps are now complete, Blanken pulling away from the field, Loving in 2nd, he’s got a half straightaway gap over Watson, but there’s the dogfight, as Sims and Lewelling are beginning to close in. Watson now opens some breathing room over Sims and Lewelling, as Lewelling begins to start battling Sims for the spot. Lewelling down low, tries to look off 4 with 5 laps remaining, can’t make it happen right now. Blanken your leader, now time limit has expired and the white flag flies. Lewelling off turn 2, he’ll lose a wheel and tire on his machine, but it’s all Blanken. Loving in 2nd, and 3rd goes to Watson.

Limited Late Model

Adam Beeler and Pierce McCarter your front row, ready to go, GREEN FLAG!! P. McCarter off with the jump off turn 2, Beeler on his inside off 4 as several cars get together in 4, but all drivers continue on. Beeler and P. McCarter in a heated battle for the lead, but now P. McCarter goes high into 1, and he’ll slam the wall hard in turn 1, Ryan King gets a piece of it, Mack McCarter also involved. 2 laps are complete.

Green flag back in the air one more time, Beeler stands on it off 4, Rusty Ballenger hot on his heels into 1. King gets loose in the middle of 1 and 2, looks like his hands are full now as Brad Lowe dives to his inside, and does a slidejob off 2. Josh Collins behind King, as Collins tries to mount a run on King. Heath Alvey gets sideways in 4, collects Layne Clifton. Alvey now with a flat left rear, he’ll pull off in turn 2. 9 laps now complete, Collins now on the inside of King, as Lowe powers around Ballenger, but Beeler is a long way ahead. Ballenger now inside Lowe off turn 2, they’ll make contact, and Ballenger goes around in turn 3 and he’ll fall to the rear. Looked like some hard racing there and slight contact sent the orange #29 in a 360 on the entry of 3.

Green flag back in the air, Beeler pounds the gas off 4, Lowe dives to his inside, nothing doing off 2. Now Lowe up in smoke in turn 3, 12 laps in the books. Lowe has made a complete lap around the speedway dropping oil, so track officials will be spending a while cleaning up the oil.

Green flag back in the air, Beeler hard on the gas one more time, Collins in hot pursuit into 1. M. McCarter on the inside of Collins, but the high line is what Collins is known for and he gets the run. Beeler still in command here at halfway, Collins in 2nd, M. McCarter in 3rd, Ballenger looks inside Scott Gardner off turn 2. Beeler running up as high as he can get his machine in 1 and 2, running the middle in 3 and 4, while Collins is running the same line in 1 and 2 but a little lower in 3 and 4. Beeler has some lap traffic to deal with in just a few laps as we have 10 to go. Balllenger in the 4th spot, Gardner 5th, as Beeler now goes outside the lap traffic on the backstretch. Collins in the 2nd spot, but now Steve Lovell goes around in turn 4 and gets a piece of the wall, with 22 laps in the books.

 

Green flag back in the air one more time, Beeler powers with the lead, now Ballenger moves into the 3rd spot off 2, he’ll look inside Collins off 4, dives inside into 1, Collins with the run off 2, and now Ballenger will pull in 3rd with 5 laps remaining, Beeler in command, Collins in 2nd trying to hold off Ballenger. Ballenger has came from the rear of the field to challenge here, but he’s losing ground to Collins at the moment. Ballenger dives low in turn 1, can’t make it stick. Now 3 laps to go. Top 3 has stretched it out amongst themselves. Checkers in the air, Beeler takes the win, Collins comes home 2nd, with Ballenger finishing up in 3rd! After the dust settled and the protesting had ended, Beeler was disqualified, allowing Collins to claim the win, Ballenger was awarded 2nd, and 3rd was awarded to M. McCarter.
