Collins blasts off to LLM win; Singleton notches #8

Another great night of racing action is complete at the 411 Motor Speedway! First on the track was the Classic divisions, where Adam Engel picked up another win for the season. Next was Mini Stock where David Singleton returned to victory lane as he closes in on 10 wins for the season! In Thunder and Lightning, Robbie Comer was cruising to victory when he would lose an engine, where David Miley would cruise from there to the checkers. Paul Johnson led flag-to-flag in Topless Modified, while Josh Collins held off some fierce competition in the Limited Late Model division.

Coming up tonight is the Tennessee RV Tuesday Night Tango featuring $1,000 to win in EACH the NeSmith Crate Late Model division, and the Limited Late Model division. They’ll each be 25 laps in length with qualifying and feature race only. Also on the card is $400 for Topless Modified and Street Stock, and $300 in Mini Stock! Classic
Adam Engel and Shannon Reece side by side, green flag, Engel jumps off turn 2 with the race lead, Reece back to 2nd, Marvin Ray in 3rd, with Cameron Skinner and Bart Baxter rounding out the field now with 5 laps complete. Engel opening up the race lead over Reece as Reece gets loose off turn 2, keeps it under control and motors away. Ray now under slight pressure as Skinner and Baxter are reeling him in. Baxter now makes his move as he drives around Skinner, now looks inside Ray off turn 4, falls in line off 2, dives inside again in turn 3, Ray up high as they go wheel to wheel around the speedway. Engel with a huge lead over Reece, who has about 10 cars over the 3rd place battle, Baxter and Ray still side by side for that position, and finally off turn 2, he’ll complete the pass, Skinner looks to follow him through, he’s side by side with Ray off 4. Baxter now reeling in Reece, now he’ll power outside in turn 3, Reece pulls in off 4. Checkers in the air, Engel with the win, Baxter takes 2nd and 3rd goes to Ray!

Mini Stock
David Singleton and Rocky McNabb ready to roll, GREEN FLAG! McNabb quickly moves down low, but a 4-wide attempt off turn 2 didn’t work, debris flew off the Robert Lewis machine, but Ronnie Bibbins makes evasive action to avoid the debris and drills the inside berm on the backstretch.

Complete restart here, green flag back in the air! Singleton your race leader, McNabb now drops back to 4th after contact. Derik Duggan looks and steals the 2nd spot, Keith Sands in the 3rd spot, here comes McNabb, looks inside off 4, now Mike Townsend, Lee Merritt, and Sam Burgess get together and hit the wall, all cars continue and we’ll stay green. But now Burgess slows to a stop off turn 2 and caution flies here on lap 5.

Green flag back in the air once more, Singleton powers off 4 with the lead, Duggan mashes his loud pedal, so does K. Sands and McNabb! Duggan looks inside for a moment, falls in line off 2 and Singleton starts to pull away. McNabb in the 4th spot, looks for room around K. Sands, Shane Taylor now closes in on McNabb. McNabb now losing touch with K. Sands as Taylor drives to the rear bumper of McNabb, halfway in the books. Singleton continuing to show the way over Duggan and K. Sands. McNabb has opened his advantage up over Taylor as his machine looks extremely loose. Duggan trying to reel in the race leader but he’s running out of time quickly. Checkers in the air, Singleton with the win, Duggan in 2nd, and 3rd goes to K. Sands.

Thunder & Lightning
David Miley and Robbie Comer your front row, GREEN FLAG! Comer steals the race lead into turn 3, Miley in the 2nd spot, Freddy Hillard in 3rd as Rocky Ogle has made it back onto the track despite his crash in the heat race, he’s up to the 4th spot. Comer beginning to pull away Miley in 2nd, but now the battle heats up for 3rd as it looks like there’s some debris on the frontstretch, caution flies here on lap 4.

Green flag back in the air, Comer quickly pulls off turn 2 with the lead, opens up 3 lengths over Miley off 4. Ogle goes back to work on Hillard, they’ll make some contact in turn 3. Both drivers continue on. Ogle almost looks like he has a broken right-front shock as the front suspension is bouncing, but now Wendell Spence around in turn 2, Scott Atkins nowhere to go, looks like both drivers may be able to continue, caution here on lap 8.

Green flag back in the air, Comer picks up picks up where he left off, as Spence rejoins the field, now it looks like he’ll have an issue with his machine, now we see fluid from the Comer machine, tough break for him, caution here on lap 11.

Green flag back in the air one more time, Miley powers off turn 2, now Ogle powers inside Hillard, he’ll claim the 2nd spot off turn 4! That team worked very hard to fix the damage from the heat race, looks like they did a fabulous job here as he’s now trying to chase down Miley, but Miley is a little way ahead with only 6 laps remaining. Parker Estes now pulls inside Danny Yoder, now Yoder gets sideways in turn 2, hangs onto it and we stay green. Ogle now with a bobble in turn 4, Hillard closes in ever so slightly off 4, as checkers are in the air, Miley takes the win, Ogle hangs on to finish up in 2nd and 3rd goes to Hillard.

Topless Modified
Jerry Hux and Paul Johnson side by side, ready to rock and roll, GREEN FLAG! Johnson quickly steals the lead off turn 2, J. Hux back to 2nd, Buddy Norwood in the 3rd spot, Keith Gregory looks inside William Hux, now looks inside Marvin Romines, carries that left front wheel through 3 and 4, trying to find room around Romines. Johnson off with the lead, J. Hux in 2nd, Romines looks inside Norwood now off 2, moves inside in 3, again off 2 as Gregory gets shot out of a canon off 2, he’ll power around Romines, looks inside on Norwood as Norwood cuts down, Gregory inside once again off 4, remains inside off 2, makes it around Norwood off 2. He’s got a long way to go though if he wants to get a win here unless a caution will fly here. Johnson on a rail, J. Hux in 2nd, Gregory in 3rd. Now Romines and Norwood get together, they carry the battle off 2, Norwood now pulls away as Johnson makes his way around a lap car. Romines closing back in on Norwood, looks inside off 4 here on lap 12. Romines makes his way around Norwood off turn 2, as Gregory is closing in on J. Hux. Now W. Hux closes in on Norwood, as Johnson closes in on him, W. Hux gets sideways, pulls in next lap. White flag in the air as Gregory closes in on the bumper of J. Hux, checkers in the air, Johnson claims the win, J. Hux and Gregory battle off 4, J. Hux takes 2nd and 3rd will go to Gregory.

Limited Late Model
Green flag in the air on the Limited as we see Dalton King spins in turn 3, Eric Tipton has nowhere to go, looks like there’s some damage on the Tipton machine. Tipton will be forced to hit the pits as the damage is too severe.

Green flag back in the air, 3 wide for about the 8th spot for a moment as Tony Schrimsher powers around Greg Estes, Josh Collins your leader, Chase King in 2nd, Jason Cardwell on his inside, Brad Lowe and Rusty Ballenger behind them as Wes Tilley tags the wall in 1 and 2, Estes, but now Tilley is helped into the wall in turn 4, caution flies again with now 3 laps in the books. Tilley had to have some help from the car and was taken to the EMTs to be checked out. Tilley was checked out and is OK but did have his wrist wrapped up, doctors confirmed it was not broken on Monday.

Green flag back in the air, Collins and C. King ready to roll, mashing the loud pedal! Collins up high, Cardwell looks inside C. King off 2, B. Lowe inside Ballenger into 3, Cardwell drifts up and C. King pulls away as B. Lowe looks inside Cardwell off 4. Collins your leader, C. King in 2nd as B. Lowe does a slide job on Cardwell off 2, B. Lowe running the low line as Heath Alvey goes around in turn 2. Caution here on lap 6.

Green flag back in the air one more time, B. Lowe drives it low in 1, looks inside C. King off turn 2, Ballenger looks inside Cardwell as B. Lowe steals 2nd, looks inside for the race lead in 1, dives inside in 3, falls in line, he’ll look inside again in 1, side by side off 2, B. Lowe inside in 3, but Cardwell has the high line working for him right now. C. King in 3rd, Ballenger in 4th, Cardwell back to 5th here at lap 10. Josh Henry now closing in on Cardwell for position, Collins up on the top shelf as Ballenger looks inside C. King for a moment. Lap traffic will become a factor shortly, as Henry kicks up the dust down low in 1 and 2 trying to get around Cardwell. Up front, Collins in the lap traffic as B. Lowe tries to find room to get around Collins, but Collins is stout as always up high. Cardwell now sideways off turn 4, he’ll lose 2 spots as he gathers it back up and powers away. Collins your leader now with lap traffic side by side just ahead of him. Now he’s in the hornet’s nest as Danny Yoder slides up and makes contact, realizing what just happened, he backs up and lets Collins power away. Collins has opened up his race lead over B. Lowe through the process as B. Lowe now has trouble getting around Yoder, as Alvey spins in turn 4 to bring the caution out here on lap 21.

Green flag back in the air one more time, the leaders fan out, B. Lowe has one more shot at Collins, can’t take advantage as Collins is still stout up high, B. Lowe in 2nd, Ballenger inside C. King for the 3rd spot, looks inside again in 3, side by side off 4. Ballenger can’t clear C. King as they’ll still remain side by side off 4 this time around. Cardwell has a mirror full of Layne Clifton as Cardwell tags the wall, Ballenger now powers around King, Henry looking inside C. King for a moment, as Lowe has lost touch with Collins. Henry and C. King still going to battle but now C. King tags the wall in 1 and 2, give Henry that 4th spot. Checkers in the air, Collins takes the win, B. Lowe comes home 2nd, Ballenger 3rd, Henry in 4th and 5th is C. King!
