Layne Clifton wins on Pink Out Night

It was the return of the Limited Late Models as the 4-1-1 celebrated their annual Pink Out Night.

The Sportsman feature was up first for a 20 lap feature. A huge field of nearly 30 drivers were on hand to put on a great show for the crowd. Their may have been a chill in the air but the action was red hot. Terry Poore would lead us to green looking for back to back wins. He wouldn’t hold the lead long as Dustin Ward would overtake him in the opening laps. The night would come to an early end for the #76 of Joe Bray as he pulled off track with issues. The caution would wave again for a multi-car crash as Eric Hux, Sonny Huskey, Tim Bounds and Nicholas Phillips tangled in turn two. Cautions would be the theme of the night as Terry Poore and Brad Seagle would tangle while racing for the third spot. Both drivers would be done for the night with front end damage. The top two began to pull away as Ward and Tyler Price now lead over Michael Courtney in the third spot. Trouble for the #J3 of Chad McLemore as he would go up in smoke in turn four bringing out the caution, setting up a two lap finish. Ward would hold on to pick up his first win of the year at the 4-1-1.

The Street Stocks were up next for another 20 lap feature. Shannon Emery would start P1 along with Bobby Petty. The caution would wave on the opening lap as the #51 of Allen Burchfield would have issues on the front. Back under green and Emery set sail with Petty, Chris Coffey and JD Smith in chase. Trouble for the #6 of Nick Baker who went for a spin in turn two bringing out the caution. The #12 of Chris Coffey was having a strong top three run but would go up in smoke ending his night early. Petty had reeled in the leader as he worked the low line trying to find some grip under Emery. They were pulling away until the caution waved on lap 17 for Michael Milsap who went for a spin on the backstretch. Emery would hold off the late charge from Petty to pick up his second straight win.

After some mechanical issues last week, James Burnette would lead us to green for the Front Wheel Drive feature. Burnette, Travis Taylor, Dakota Lamping and Josh Ramsey made up the front runners on the start. Taylor started on the front row but would slip back a couple spots in the opening laps. The top two of Burnette and Lamping quickly began to put distance on the rest of the pack in the opening laps. Lamping had chewed into the lead as the pack would catch lap traffic at the halfway mark. Brandon Crawford had now worked his way into the top five having another strong run in his #00. Up front, Burnette would inch away in the second half to continue his dominance.

The Limited Late Models were making their return to 411 for a special event. Booger Brooks would set fast time in qualifying earning the pole for the feature alongside Layne Clifton in his #23 machine. The green waved and Clifton would get the jump taking the lead with Brooks and Jason Welshan in tow. The field was setting a blistering pace as the leaders found themselves in slower traffic. The night would come to an early end for Jason Cardwell as he pulled his #07 of track short of the finish. Jesse Lowe and Cody Courtney had a great battle in the second half of the top 10. Lowe would eventually make his move taking the spot away in turn four. Clifton had pulled away out front but it was on for the second spot as Welshan had now caught Brooks. Jensen Ford had now worked his way past Rusty Ballenger, and into the top five as the laps ticked away. Up front it was all Layne Clifton who ran away to a huge lead and picked up the victory.
