Hedgecock Continues 411 Dominance

The World Of Outlaw Late Models were back in town doing battle for a big $10,000 payday.

Fresh off a huge $100,000 win at Volunteer Speedway, Dale McDowell would start on the pole for the 40 lap feature. The green waved and the huge field of stacked drivers screamed off into turn one. McDowell, Mike Marlar, and Jensen Ford lead the way. Ricky Weiss was set on go as he quickly moved past Brian Shirley. Kyle Bronson was another driver on the move as he picked his way up into the top five in the early laps. McDowell and Marlar began to inch away from the rest of the pack looking to settle it amongst themselves. Marlar was using the very low line, chewing into the lead McDowell had built up. The leaders found themselves in slower traffic as they were setting a furious pace. On lap 15, Marlar saw his opening and took advantage of the lap traffic moving himself into the lead. One of the best battles on the track was between the #32 of Bobby Pierce and the #7 of Ricky Weiss. The two would exchange sliders multiple times as they tried to move up into the top five. Cory Hegecock has been the king of 411 recently and was once again putting on a clinic as he had moved himself up into the fourth spot past Jensen Ford. It looked like Marlar was gonna cruise to the win but a flat right rear on lap 29 would end his night early. McDowell would inherit the top spot as the field went back green. Hedgecock would pounce on the restart and divebomb McDowell into turn one, wrestling the lead away. Cory would pull away in the final eleven laps to pick up his second World Of Outlaws win.

The Sportsman feature would be up next with Baily Cardwell and Adam Mitchell leading us to green. Caution would be the theme of this one early on as the caution would wave on the very first turn as the #31 of Wes Tilley, the #21 of Tyler Haynes were swept up in a crash. The night would be over for Haynes as his #21 machine had heavy front damage. Back under green and turn one would claim another victim as the #7 of Aaron Jones crashed into the wall. The driver would be okay but he’d be done for the night. Finally under green and Cardwell would show the way ahead of Mitchell and Tyler Price. Tim Bounds started in the second row but would drop back through the field as the laps ticked away. A caution on lap 15 would slow the pace just five laps short of the finish. Back under green and Brad Seagle and Tyler Price would get together on the exit of turn two costing both of them several positions. Addison Cardwell didn’t have the best starting spot but he had reeled in Mitchell taking the runner up spot with just a couple laps left. Out front it was all Baily Cardwell who went on to pick up the win.

The 20 lap Front Wheel Drive feature was up next. The #1 of Jacob Sharp would lead us to green ahead of James Burnette, Nathan Adams and Travis Taylor. The top three were clearly the class of the field in the first half of the race. The strong top four run would come to an end for Jordan Taylor as his #21 machine slowed ending his night short of the finish. Burnette had taken over the lead with Sharp and Adams hot on his trail. Adams would slow down the back giving up the second spot to Ray Wyatt. It looked like Adams had mechanical issues but would continue on as he tried to get the second spot back from Wyatt. Trouble for the #1 of Sharp as he slowed from the second spot. James Burnette would score the win.
