411 Motor Speedway kicked off the 2022 season in style with the annual Hangover headlined by the $5,000 Super Late Model feature.
The Sportsman Late Models would start the days program. It was once again a family affair as Hayden Cardwell and Addison Cardwell would lead us to green. Chaos would show it’s ugly face early as Chase Lawson would tag the turn one wall on the opening lap collecting the #H31 of Clayton Cooper. After a lengthy cleanup it was back to action with the #07 of Hayden Cardwell on point ahead of Addison Cardwell, and Adam Mitchell. Mitchell made his move early using the low line to power by Cardwell and into the runner up spot. The caution would wave again for a hard crash for the H31 of Clayton Cooper who made hard contact with the backstretch wall ending his day early. Back under green and the #617 of Colton Proffitt was on the move as he passed Cardwell and Mitchell to take over the runner up spot. Hayden Cardwell had built up a bit of a lead but trouble would find him as he pulled off track with problems. Proffitt would inherit the lead but the drama wouldn’t be over as he was nearly collected by the #5 of Chesney who lost an engine in turn two. Proffitt would get his spot back up front for the final restart. He’d hold onto pick up the first win of 2022.

The caution would be called on Mays who had to go to the rear of the field. The cautions weren’t done just yet as Bobby Mays and Mark Sise would tangle while battling for the runner up position. A break for Hegecock as the caution was for debris and he would regain his spot up front. Back under green and Christian Hanger moved his way into the third spot. It looked like The Hangman might be a threat for the win until he tagged the turn two wall hard ending his day.
