Zach Sise Continues Hot Streak

 

It was back to racing at Tennessee’s Action Track with a strong field of cars on hand to do battle.

 

First up was the 20 lap 602 Late Model feature. Josh Driskill and Curtis Thomas would start on the front row. However, chaos would show its ugly head as the leaders got together in the very first turn setting off a hard crash. Thomas would go head on into the turn one wall collecting Driskill and David Miley. After a long cleanup it was back to racing with new leader Lee Branch showing the way ahead of Jake Green, Grant Corum and James Cole the remaining drivers. The drama wasn’t over yet as leader Branch went for a spin in turn two ending his chances at victory. Green would take over the top spot and pull away in the closing laps.

Next up was the 20 lap B-Hobby/Super Street feature. Josh Henry would put his #B00 on point on the start ahead of Lance Creaseman, McKenlee Hall and Michael Milsap. Trouble for the #D3 of David Beeler who went for a spin off the exit of turn 4 bringing out the caution. Henry seemed to have the race in hand as he put distance on his closest competitor Creaseman. Milsap and Kennedy would both pull off track short of the finish. Henry had it on cruise control as he picked up the win.

Blake Brown has had an incredible season so far and he continued it by setting fast time in qualifying. The green waved and Brown took the top spot with Ricky Tinch, Brandon Kinzer, Dustin Diden and Chris Wilson your top five. Wayne James and 2019 season Champion Jimmy Dalton had a great battle for position in the early laps. A hard crash between the #4 of Chase Lawson and the #J2 of Larry James brought out the caution. Both drivers were okay, but their nights were over. The cautions were not over the #29C of Joey Cotterman went for a wild spin down into the infield. Up front it was all Blake Brown who pulled away to continue his hot streak.

It would be a family affair in the 604 Late Model feature as brothers Zach and Trevor Sise would start on the front of the stacked feature. Younger brother Zach would set sail on the start with Trevor Sise, Jed Emert, Cameron Weaver and Jason Cardwell in chase. Jason Cardwell was turning up the heat on Cardwell for a spot in the top five. Greg Martin didn’t get the best qualifying lap but he was trying to work his way up as he battled it out with Clay Coghlan Coming off turn two the fight for second was intense as Jed Emert and Trevor Sise made contact. The top two put distance on the rest of the pack as the Sise brothers looked to settle it between themselves. The caution would come out late for William Blankenship who went for a spin. Trevor Sise would make one last run at his brother coming off turn four but had to fall back in line. Zach Sise would pull away in the final laps to continue his already great season.

Next up was the 20 lap Front Wheel Drive feature in what was quite possibly the race of the night. Jacob Sharp would put his #1 on top of the scoreboard ahead of Cody Rector and Bryan Williams. Williams had a strong start but would pull off track early with mechanical issues. Sharp, Rector and Dustin Duncan put on a thrilling show for the fans as they ran bumper to bumper most of the race. Rector would see his strong run come to an end as he retired early from the event. Sharp would hold off Duncan to pick up the win.

The Mini Stock division would make their debut at the 4-1-1 in 2020. Michael Courtney and former track Champion John Byers would start on the front row for the feature. Courtney would clear Byers on the start and set sail. Trouble for the #32 of Jeffrey Beal as he went for a spin off turn two bringing out the caution. It was all Michael Courtney in this one as he ran away to a huge lead picking up the win.
