Hedgecock Dominates 411’s Sweetheart

After a long January it was back to action at Tennessee’s Action Track with a jam packed field of cars in all divisions.

First up was the 20 lap Classic Car feature. Shaun Sise would set fast time in qualifying with a brand new look to his #16 machine. The green waved and it was Sise who lead the field into turn one with Michael Milsap, Shane Taylor, Will Carey and 2019 Champion Lee Merritt in chase. Adam Engel started near the rear of the field but was on go early on moving past Taylor into the 6th position. His strong run would end when he pulled off track with issues. Sise may have been strong out front but the fight was on between Carey, Merritt and Milsap for the runner up spot. Tim Bounds would go into the spin cycle on lap 9 bringing out the caution. Sise would pull away the second half to pick up the first Classic win of 2020.

Under green it was Miley, Josh Walker, Adam Mitchell, Eli Beets and Ricky Smith your top five on the start. Mitchell quickly moved past Walker into the runner up spot setting his sights on the leader. Beets and Walker would make contact in turn two with Beets moving past. Walkers #2 machine had started to have a trail of smoke follow him and would end up pulling off track. Mitchell had closed in on the leader as the two would make contact coming off turn four as they battled for the top position. Miley would inch away in the closing laps and score the win.

David Clark was setting up to make a run at the leader but had to pull of early with a flat tire. Travis Reno also had issues as he would have to take the long ride on the tractor back to the pits with front end damage. Comer and Williams would get together later in the race sending Williams for a spin. The caution would be called on Comer who was forced to go to the rear of the field for the restart. Trouble for Ryan Watson as he and Evan Wrinkle would get together coming off turn two sending Watson for a wild ride down into the infield. Watson would be done with a broken left front wheel. Anthony White would find his race coming to an early end as he slowed on the second lap of the event and pulled infield. Josh Henry was trying to work his way up into the top 10 as he and Rusty Ballenger fought it out. Zach Sise would get turned in turn two triggering a multi car crash which would bring out the red flag. Back under green Hedgecock found himself in lap traffic with Ford trying to close the gap. Brandon Williams and Rusty Ballenger would get together down the front stretch sending Ballenger into the turn one wall ending his night. It was a rough race for some drivers as the #4 of Daniel Wright and the #55 of David Miller would get together early bringing out the caution. The #96 of James Kelso would have it even worse as he went for a wild flip in turn one. He was okay but would obviously be done for the night. It was an incredible battle for the lead up front between the #15 of Cordell Moore, the #21 of Dustin Duncan and the #11 of Billy Bailey battled it out.
