Greg Martin Finds Victory Lane at 411

A stacked field of cars were on hand to do battle in seven divisions of racing at Tennessee’s Action Track.

The Classic Car division would be up first for their 20 lap feature. Shaun Sise had picked up where he left off after last weekends win and earned the pole in qualifying. The green waved in the air and it was outside pole sitter Mac Lockhart who took the lead on the start ahead of Sise, Adam Engel, Tim Bounds and Mark Sise. Sise didn’t get the best jump on the start as he slipped back into the third spot from the pole. The top three drivers put some distance on Bounds and Mark Sise who had their own battle going on the majority of the race. Sise would work his way back into second and start chewing into the lead Lockhart had amounted. Just like last week history repeated itself as Sise made the move taking the lead on the final lap of the race to pick up his second straight win.

1: #J16 Shaun Sise
2: #00 Mac Lockhart
3: #51 Adam Engel
4: #11 Tim Bounds
5: #59 Mark Sise

Jed Emert would earn the pole for the 20 lap Sportsman feature earlier in the day in qualifying. An early caution for the #77 of Jimmy Calloway and the #40 of Hunter Kerr would slow the pace on the opening lap. Back under green it was Emert, Jake Whitehead, season Champion Clyde Stanton your top three. Stanton had the heat turned up trying to get the runner up spot in the first half of the feature. He’d make the move putting himself into the runner up position setting his sights on Emert. Stanton was working the low line trying to reel in the #98 as the laps ticked away. Emert was picture perfect out front hitting his marks and picked up the win.

1: #98 Jed Emert
2: #C11 Clyde Stanton
3: #116 Jake Whitehead
5: #34 Philip Shockley
6: #77 Jimmy Calloway
DNS: #98W Adam Pressley

A strong field of Crate Late Model drivers were on hand to do battle for the $1,000 payday. Ross White hadn’t been to the 411 in a minute but was fast as he set the bar to beat in qualifying. Trouble would show itself early as the #00 of Ruben Mayfield went for a wild spin down into the infield in the opening laps. He would be uninjured but did retire for the rest of the event. Back under green it was outside pole sitter Greg Martin who found himself showing the way with White and Pierce McCarter in chase. Zach Sise was coming off a win the previous night at another track but seemed to have slightly missed the setup as he wasn’t have quite as an impressive run as we’d expected. The Youngster Eli Beets and Sise had a great battle for a spot in the top five in the first half of the race. McCarter had a strong run going as he challenged White for the runner up spot. Up front it was all Greg Martin who pulled away to a big lead in the final laps.

The Front Wheel Drive class also had a very strong field on hand once again. Last weeks winner Kevin Sexton would take control of the field on the start with Nick Adams, Jacob Sharp, season Champion Nathan Adams and Andy Wilson rounding out your top five. Sharp was quick to begin working the low line trying to get the second spot. Nathan Adams has multiple wins to go along with his Championship but seemed to be having a bit of an off night as he slipped back a few spots in the first half. He’d later retire from the event early with mechanical issues. A wild ride for the #72 of Daryl Teefeteller as he went for a spin down into the infield and almost flipped over. He was okay and actually continued on with little more than cosmetic damage. Jacob Sharp would put a little distance on Nick Adams in the second half to pick up back to back wins.

After a strong showing last weekend, the B-Hobby/Super Street class was back again at the 411. Duke Lowe is always a strong contender regardless of the track and tonight was no different as he was fastest in qualifying. Lowe put his #55 on point as the green waved ahead of Skylar Douglass, Brady Lee and last weeks winner Regan Willams. The good fortune Willams had last week was no where to be found on this night as he tagged the wall and cut down a tire. After some service from his crew he’d rejoin from the tail of the pack. A fantastic battle showed why this class is so buzz-worthy as Douglass, Lee and now Lamar hughes had a fight for the runner up spot. Hughes had figured out the 411 correctly as he moved into the second spot by race end. Lowe would hold him off to pick up his first ever win at Tennessee’s Action Track.

1: #55 Duke Lowe
2: #01 Lamar Hughes
3: #31 Brady Lee
4: #14 Skylar Douglass
5: #W13 Jeff Wallace

7: #42 John Simms
8: #48 Regan Williams
9: #00 Audie Wyrick
10: #4 James Kelso

Jeff Hamby would lead us to green for the start of the 20 lap Open Wheel feature. Billy Palmer, Dustin Diden, Tyler James and Joey Cotterman were your top five drivers on the start. The top two put some distance on the rest of the pack which saw great battles all throughout. Diden had his #112 running strong as he worked over Billy Palmer eventually getting the position. Tyler James backed up his top five last weekend with another strong showing as he was in the mix for the third place fight all race long. Trouble for the #10 of Ricky Standridge who went up in smoke putting down fluid all over the front stretch. After the cleanup it was back to racing and Palmer took advantage and dove his #36 down deep into turn one and looped it around ending his bid for the win. The strong run Diden had earlier in the race came to an end when he unexpectedly pulled off track during the caution. Hamby would pull away again in the closing laps to score another victory.

1: #15 Jeff Hamby
2: #C29 Joey Cotterman
3: #J4 Tyler James
4: #14 Josh Henry
5: #36 Billy Palmer

10: #7 Tyler Strickland
11: #10 Ricky Standridge
12: #50 Amos Bunch
DNS: #4 Wayne James

The final event of the night would see the return of the Mini Stock class after a very long absence. A very strong field of cars were on hand to fight it out and see who could find their way to victory lane. Former track Champion John Byers was the fastest in time trials setting up a position on the front row for himself in the 20 lap feature. Byers hadn’t forgotten his way around the 411 as he took control on the start with Derik Duggan, Marcus Thompson and Tommy Newton hot on his heels. The #41 of Chris Evans found himself off roading as he slid through the infield bringing out a caution. The battle for the lead was getting hot and boiled over as Byers and Duggan made contact coming off turn four sending the #83 into the infield. Byers would have to restart at the tail end of the pack with Duggan now in control. Duggan would hold on to pick up the win with Byers getting back into the second spot by race end.

1: #5 Derik Duggan
2: #T2 Tommy Newton
3: #83 John Byers
