Stanton, Woods, McKinney, Johnson, Adams, Cross visit victory lane at 411 Motor Speedway

SEYMOUR, Tenn. (June 14, 2019) — 411 Motor Speedway moved its weekly racing program from the usual Saturday show to Friday this week for Friday Night Lights at Tennessee’s Action Track.

Clyde Stanton of Knoxville captured the Sportsman Late Model win, while Michael Woods of White Pine recorded the Modified Street victory.

Chris McKinney of Harriman sped to the Classic win, while Brandon Johnson of Talbott recorded the Street Stock victory. Nathan Adams of Crossville and Brad Cross of Cleveland each won Front Wheel Drive races.

The “Mule Hollow Missle” Clyde Stanton rocketed out to the lead at start of the Sportsman Late Model race over Mitchell Burke and Matt Tharp. Racing up off (turn) two on the second lap Tharp passed Burke to move into second place.

Back to back cautions waved on lap 4, first for a slowing Jake Whitehead between turns three and four and then off the double-file restart, Quincy Adams spun between turns one and two.

With the race back under green, Stanton had Tharp right on his rear bumper and behind the front-running duo Burke, Adam Mitchell, Jed Emert, Kip Sawyer and Thomas Clark were battling for position. Racing off the second corner on lap 12, Mitchell passed Burke to move into third in the running order.

Over the final five laps of the event Stanton pulled ahead by six car lengths over Tharp and went on to capture his fourth win of the season. Finishing third through fifth, respectively, were Mitchell, Burke and Sawyer.

Modified Street divisional points leader Michael Woods powered out into the lead at start of the 20-lap feature and never looked back en route to cruising to his fourth win of the season over Logan Hickey, David Clark, Robbie Comer and Bubba Long.

Chris McKinney wrote his name in the track’s record book with his first-ever Classic win over Shane Taylor, Michael Millsap, John Stevens and Will Carey.

Double features were held for the Front Wheel Drive division. In the first 15-lap race Nathan Adams outran Tracy Cagle, Dustin Duncan, Todd Duncan and Jake Duncan to capture his third win on the season. The race was red-flagged on lap 7 for a wreck by Josh Ramsey between turns three and four where his car slammed head-on into the wall. Both emergency and track safety personnel were quickly on the scene to aid Ramsey before racing action resumed. … In the second race it was all Brad Cross as he rolled to his first win over Tracy Cagle, Dustin Duncan, Darrell Teffeteller and Jake Duncan.

Brandon Johnson jumped out to lead at start of the Street Stock feature and over the closing laps held off a hard-charging Shawn Henry to capture his first win of the season. Finishing third through fifth, respectively, were Josh Driskill, David Kerr and Jonathan Sims.
