It was another great night of racing action on Saturday under beautiful blue skies and very comfortable temperatures greeting fans! We’d like to congratulate our winners: Tommy Metler (Mini Stock), Shannon Emery (Mini Stock), Kevin Lewis (Modified), Chase King (Thunder & Lightning), and Cory Hedgecock (Limited Late Model).

Join us this Saturday August 21st as the NeSmith Chevrolet Performance Series Super Late Models come to town for a 50-lap $3,000 winner’s purse! Also in action will be Mini Stock, Modified, Thunder & Lightning, and Street Stock! Mini Stock
Lee Merritt and Tommy Metler your front row, green flag in the air. Metler gets the lead off 2, Rocky McNabb with a run on Merritt, pulls inside into 3. McNabb falls back in line off 2, James Mitchell just behind him looking to mount a run as David Singleton gets sideways off 4 but hangs on. Brandon Cooper now around off 4, he’ll slide into the infield and stall and we stay green. Metler opening the gap up over Merritt with 4 laps complete. Now Anthony Dixon spins in 4, he’ll also pull into the infield but we stay green. Bryant Idles now slows off 4, and he’s into the infield. McNabb and Mitchell closing in on Merritt as they are slowly catching Merritt. Now caution flies here on lap 7 for debris in 3.

Green flag back in the air, Metler with the charge into 1, McNabb hot on his heels into 3, now Mitchell looks for room around as Merritt looks to gain a few spots after hitting the hotpits for a tire change under the previous caution. Up front it’s Metler, McNabb, and Mitchell. Mike Townsend and Sam Burgess the next 2 as Merritt moves into the 6th spot. Now Singleton slows off 2. Now caution flies here on lap 11 as Mitchell has found the outside wall on the frontstretch.

Green flag back in the air, Metler powers off 4 and into 1, McNabb in 2nd, now Alex Squires and Josh Ellis get together, and caution flies. 11 laps complete.

Green flag back in the air, Metler in command, but he has a mirror chocked full of McNabb. Burgess in the 3rd spot as Merritt is around Townsend, now McNabb slows into 3 with an issue, but we stay green. Metler in command, Merritt now around Burgess for the 2nd spot. Checkers on this one, Metler takes the win over Merritt and Burgess.

Street Stock
Dale Watson and Billy Sands your front row, ready to rock, green flag! 3-wide for the 2nd spot as Shannon Smith, Shannon Emery, and Sands make it a 3-way battle for the 2nd spot, now Emery looks for the race lead over Watson, side-by-side. Brad Davis inside Smith, but now caution here on lap 2 as Sands gets the wall off 4 and cuts a tire.

Green flag back in the air, Emery and Davis side by side into 1, Emery wins the race off 2, Watson outside on Davis, Davis with a slide, put him back to 3rd with Smith and David Clark battling behind them, now Sands scrapes the wall in 1 and 2 but we stay green. Davis working on Watson for the 2nd spot, looks inside into 3, can’t make it stick down low and falls back in line. Clark closing in on Smith. Behind Clark it’s Scott Atkins, but now caution flies as Brandon Hickman loses a driveshaft in turn 2. Caution here on lap 6.

Green flag back in the air, Emery shows the way into 1, now Clark looks to make it 3-wide into 1, but they sort things out with no contact. Watson in 2nd, Davis in 3rd, Smith and Clark the next 2. Emery checking out in this one, Davis still working on Watson as Daniel Lawson slows, he’ll show smoke but continue on for a lap and then pull in. Emery shows the way, he’s got a straightaway lead over Watson as Davis pulls inside on Watson. Clark still working on Smith as Davis still works on Watson. Watson up high, Davis down low, Smith up high and Clark down low. Now caution flies here on lap 15 as Sands is around in 2.

Green flag back in the air, Emery powers off 4 with the lead, opens about an 8 car length lead over Watson and continues to pull away. Checkers on this one, Emery takes the win, Davis takes home 2nd by a few inches but spins into 1 and collides with Watson, who finishes up in 3rd.

Modified
Mike Lewis and Tony Lindsey your front row, ready to go, green flag. Lewis with the jump off 2, now Lindsey looks inside on Lewis, has to get on the binders, he’ll lose ground to Lewis as now Shane Taylor peeks inside for the 2nd spot with Johnny Ridings in 4th, now Wayne James gets the wall and gets up on 2 wheels, but he’ll continue on, now Ridings inside Lindsey, Lindsey comes down and bangs into Ridings, now Tony Spoon has found the wall in turn 3. Caution here on lap 3.

Green flag back in the air, Lewis with the jump off 2, now Lindsey gets into Taylor, now Taylor will lose a couple spots as Ridings slips into the 2nd spot. 7 laps now complete as Ridings begins to reel in Lewis. Everyone has put distance between themselves now as they click off lap 10. Now caution flies as Eric Hux and Lindsey have gotten together, Hux with heavy front-end damage, Taylor also collected.

Green flag back in the air, Lewis with the jump off 2, Ridings hot on his heels, but caution flies for debris on the backstretch, still lap 10.

Green flag back in the air, but Lindsey gets into and sends Tyler James around into turn 1, caution still on lap 10.

Green flag back in the air, Lewis your leader, Ridings in 2nd, Lindsey in 3rd, Wayne James now chasing down Tyler James for the 4th spot. Checkers on this one, Lewis takes the win over Ridings and Lindsey.

Thunder & Lightning
Robbie Comer and David Miley your front row, they’ll race side by side all the way into 3 where Comer prevails off 4. Miley in 2nd, Chase King in 3rd. Warren McMahan edges in front of Rocky Ogle, now King gets a run on Miley, dives inside off 4, side by side for 2nd but off 2 Miley gets the run, he’ll hang onto 2nd. King still working on Miley, but still rides in the 3rd spot. Bryan McDaniel now pulls into the infield here on lap 8. Comer now working lap traffic as he clicks off lap 10. King and Miley still battling for position as they catch the lappers. Caution now flies here on lap 13 for debris off 4.

Green flag back in the air, Comer with the lead, King in 2nd, now Larry Sullivan moves into the 3rd spot now as Landon Williamson is around off 4. 14 laps in the books.

Green flag back in the air, Comer with the jump off 2, but now Ogle grabs the wall in turn 2, he’ll pass the opening and bounce off the wall past the opening. Caution still on lap 14.

Green flag back in the air, Comer shows the way off 2, King in the 2nd spot, he’ll dive down low into 3, falls back in line off 4. Sullivan in the 3rd spot, McMahan up to 4th. King peeks inside once again, but falls back in line. Now 2 to go as King battles for the win. White flag in the air, King has 2 more corners now, dives inside into 3, side by side off 4, they’ll make contact, they lean on each other down the frontstretch and it’s King by inches as he slides through the infield, avoiding the tractor tires! Amazing finish fans!

Limited Late Model
Cory Hedgecock and Ryan King your front row, ready to go, green flag! They’ll make it into turn 2 where Brad Seagle will spin, Complete restart coming.

Green flag back in the air, King rockets off turn 2, Hedgecock in 2nd. Seagle down low on Rusty Ballenger, as Jason Cardwell is in 3rd. Hedgecock reeling in King. Matt Henderson driving a borrowed car, chases down Layne Clifton for 7th. King running the high groove as Hedgecock tries to find a way around, he’ll have to follow for right now. Now Seagle has moved up high and around Ballenger, but Ballenger battles back inside. Clifton now has dropped back a spot as Henderson makes his way around. Caution flies here on lap 8 as Kip Sawyer is around in 4.

Green flag back in the air, Cardwell though into turn 1 he’ll slide around, collecting Ballenger and Brandon Gardner. Gardner with heavy front-end damage.

Green flag back in the air, King powers off 2, Hedgecock on his heels as Seagle runs 3rd. Mitchell Childress around Henderson, now Childress loose off 2 and into 3, but now Sawyer is around in 3. Caution here on lap 10.

Green flag back in the air, King and Hedgecock battle for the lead here off 4, King running up high with Hedgecock glued to the rear bumper, now Cardwell up in smoke and he pulls in. Hedgecock and King still side by side, but now King with some breathing room, now Gardner sideways, but straightens it up and we stay green. Hedgecock now finally makes his way around King, put King back to 2nd. Gardner with his hands full, he’ll slow up Hedgecock to allow King to close back in, but they all clear and we stay green. Hedgecock though has pulled out to a half straightaway lead of King. Ballenger in the 3rd spot, Henderson the next car for position. Caution #100 for the division as around goes Childress in 2.

Green flag back in the air, Hedgecock powers off 2 with the lead, King in 2nd, Ballenger hanging onto the 3rd spot. Seagle creeping up on Henderson, and he’ll dive inside into 3 and around to claim the 4th spot is Seagle. Checkers on this one, Hedgecock takes the win over King and Ballenger.
