Sweetheart 52 now slated for Saturday February 23rd

The next event on the 2013 411 Motor Speedway schedule takes place on February 23rd as officials have been forced to postpone from the previous date of February 16th. With a few new drivers making plans to race, at least 2 drivers will be making starts in new divisions this year. 2011 Classic Champion Adam Engel skipped a lot of the last half of the 2012 season after selling his Classic car to get a new ride built. Engel will be returning to the 411 Motor Speedway at the Sweetheart 52 in the Street Stock division. Another notable, 2010 Street Stock Champion Raymond Shepard took most of 2012 off as he focused on promoting his race track, the Spring City Raceway, but he too has a new ride. He debuted the ride at the 3rd Annual Hangover and will again be behind the wheel of his new Limited Late Model machine.

As seen at the Hangover, a new face was seen at the track, as well as an old face returning to an old place as Joe Byrd has re-assumed Technical Inspector duties. Coming aboard for the 2013 racing season is Royce Fout as he assumes Race Director duties.

Next Saturday also marks a special race. Originally announced as the Sweetheart 60, this race has been re-numbered to 52, in honor of Scott Sexton, who passed away on January 10th due to a lengthy illness. Special things are planned for this event, which we believe most fans will feel a spiritual presence of a man whom many fans called their hero. Headlining the Sweetheart 52 will be the Limited Late Model division as the stars of the Limiteds battle for $2,052 to win with $100 start pay, and no entry fee! In addition, Topless Modified will race for $300 and $35 to start, Street Stock will race for $300 and $35 to start, Thunder & Lightning will race for $400 and $35 to start, Mini Stock will race for $200 and $35 to start, and Classic will race for $250 and $35 to start! Adult grandstand admission is only $10, with kids 6-11 being $5 and those 5 and under are free. Tier parking tickets are $15 for all ages, while Pit Passes for Adults are $25. Gates will swing open at 11:00a with the drivers meeting slated for 1:00pm
