Nick Perry & Michael Courtney split Mini Stock double feature wins

Seymour, TN – On another beautiful Saturday afternoon, the stars of the 411 Motor Speedway would come out in full force to give fans one heck of a night of on-track action. For the first time in a few years, we would host double features in one of our divisions who has had the best overall car count average for the 2nd year. Kicking the night off was Mini Stock Qualifying, where John Byers set a new Mini Stock qualifying record with his blazing lap of 16.896. NeSmith Late Model was next where Rusty Ballenger took fast qualifier honors with his lap of 14.173. The fields were set through heat race action, where we rolled into features. First was Mini Stock Feature 1, where the qualifying results were the starting lineup. Nick Perry would take the win. Street Stock was next, where Travis Reno returned to victory lane. Sportsman was dominated by Terry Poore. Mini Stock Feature 2 was next, where the drivers were brought to the infield, and based on how they finished the first feature, from winner to last place, each driver would re-draw for starting position. After the checkered flag fell in this time-shortened feature, Michael Courtney was sitting in victory lane – after starting 18th! Capping the night off was NeSmith Late Model where Ryan King dominated, leading all 30 laps en-route to his 3rd win of the season.

Johnny Ridings and David Miley take Shootout victories

Mother Nature can’t help but help the track officials at 411 Motor Speedway, as she would again bring a shower over the speedway just a few hours prior to race time. That’s only happened about 4 weeks in a row now! Anyway, moving on to the racing action, we saw another awesome feature in Mini Stock as the top 5 challenged for the win a majority of the feature. And at the end of the night fireworks flew as two drivers directed their displeasure toward one. Classic was the first feature, where Cameron Skinner would take the win. Next was Mini Stock, where William Tallent would hang tough to claim the win. Street Stock was next where Travis Reno would take the win – just in time – as a hose blew on his victory lane lap. The Modified Shootout was next, where polesitter Paul Johnson would suffer an electrical issue, sending him to the infield before the green. Johnny Ridings would claim the victory. Next was the Thunder & Lightning Shootout, where David Miley would take the win. The final feature of the night was Limited Late Model, where Cory Hedgecock took the win.

Join us this Saturday August 3rd for another great night of racing action where points racing returns! Everything kicks off at the same time, same place, same price!

Jason Manley outduels Josh Collins both on — and off the track

Another night of great racing is in the books at the 411 Motor Speedway! In Street Stock, Travis Reno set a new track record for the Street Stock division as they got to qualify. Reno would claim the victory. In Mini Stock, David Singleton continued his winning ways, then in NeSmith Crates we would see Ryan King take the checkers. In Thunder & Lightning, Robbie Comer would power to the win. In Topless, it was a spinfest as 8 cautions slowed the pace – and cut the laps short – as Keith Gregory took the checkers. The final feature of the night was one that will be talked about for a while.

Mother Nature again tried to rain on our parade, but the fans, drivers, crew, and staff at the 411 Motor Speedway made it all work out and the entire program was completed despite Mother Nature’s best efforts. In NeSmith Crates, Greg “Skinny” Martin blasted to the win with fireworks flying on the post-race cool-down lap. Tarheel Tiger claws competition, sets new track record

Another great night of racing is in the books despite a light shower that passed over the speedway, but that surely didn’t slow us down any! In Topless Modified, Johnny Ridings was setting sail to victory lane when his engine would detonate early. He would lead the first 16 laps before he would exit the speedway, handing the win to Marvin Romines. In NeSmith Crate Late Model, Adam Beeler powered to the winners circle. Summers & Gregory duel in Topless; Miley finally gets a W

Another great night of racing action is in the books at Tennessee’s Action Track! First off, Adam Engel blazed to victory lane in the Classic division. Next up was Thunder & Lightning where David Miley schooled the field to claim the win despite a 19 minute red flag for a rain shower. In Mini Stock action, we saw the “Rooftop Rocket” blast off to the lead as he dodged heavy lap traffic all feature long. Travis Reno dueled with Larry Sullivan, surrendering the race lead in turn 3 on the final lap, but quickly stole it back when Sullivan couldn’t hang onto his machine and spun in 4. The next division was a barn burner where Justin Summers and Keith Gregory wore each other out and raced hard every single lap as these two were virtually side-by-side the final 9 laps, but Summers was the quickest gun in this shootout. And in Limited Late Model, Rusty Ballenger, Eric Tipton, and Josh Collins were dueling for the race lead on lap 25 until the 2012 Limited Late Model points leader Josh Collins made a rare mistake which resulted in him grinding the turn 2 wall. In the end, Rusty Ballenger claimed the checkers, and with Collins’ misfortune and Ballengers’ race win, the points lead in Limited Late Model is now tied between Collins and Ballenger!

Coming up this Saturday June 16th is another regular program but with increased purse! Limited Late Models will run for $1,000 with a $150 Fast Qualifier bonus! The Fast Qualifier will be the ONLY competitor getting locked into the show, all other drivers must run a heat race. Each heat race will pay $100 for the winner, $50 for 2nd, and $25 for 3rd, and each heat will be 8 laps instead of the usual 6. Also in action will be the Mini Stock, running for $500, Thunder & Lightning gunning for $400, Topless Modified for $400, and Classic running for $300! All divisions with the exception of Limited Late Model will run 20 laps and will earn $41 to start. See you all this Saturday!

Chris Wilson claims inaugural J.T. Kerr Memorial 40!

Another great night of racing is complete at Tennessee’s Action Track, and it was not a disappointment by any means, except for 1 driver. In Topless Modified, Keith Gregory led the first half of the race, but a caution just past halfway erased the cushion he had, and Paul Johnson eventually made his way around to claim the win. In Mini Stock, David Singleton again started on the rear and again powered through the field to claim the win. In Limited Late Model action, it was a challenge as Pierce McCarter blasted off in the race lead but worked through lap traffic as this one went 30 laps green flag. In Street Stock action, Travis Reno claimed the win after getting spun by Dale Watson. Watson recovered to finish 3rd. And finally, Adam Beeler stole the lead early in the J.T. Kerr Memorial 40, but on lap 29 his dream at the payday would jump away as he was spun by lap traffic. Beeler would’ve restarted in the race lead, but because he immediately jumped out of his machine, his night was concluded. Chris Wilson held off Ronnie Johnson to claim the checkers.

Next up this Saturday is another regular racing program with action in the Limited Late Model, Thunder & Lightning, Topless Modified, Street Stock, Mini Stock, and Classic! See you this Saturday!
