Billy Ogle Jr shatters track record but Dale McDowell blasts to victory

Mother Nature is working hard to spoil our shows, but she isn’t succeeding. A sure rain-out translated into a bad fast track that saw the track record get shattered by Billy Ogle Jr as he lowered the fastest lap down to a 13.092. In feature action, Logan Dukes made his return to the Classic division at 411 Motor Speedway as he cruised to the win. In NeSmith Crates, Adam Beeler blasted to the victory. In Mini Stock, ole Cole Trickle, I mean Rocky McNabb, picked up the win. In Thunder & Lightning, well the top 2 ran away with it, as Robbie Comer took the win. Oh, 3rd place finisher Barry Duncan was 2 laps down while 2nd place finisher Warren McMahan wasn’t far behind Comer. And in Super Late Model action, it was a front row of “The Kid” and “Mac-Daddy”, but it was Dale McDowell who blasted to victory lane.

Coming up next Saturday August 18th is another regular racing program. Classes in action will be the Limited Late Model, NeSmith Crate Late Model, Thunder & Lightning, Street Stock, Mini Stock, Topless Modified, and Modified Mini.

Summers & Gregory duel in Topless; Miley finally gets a W

Another great night of racing action is in the books at Tennessee’s Action Track! First off, Adam Engel blazed to victory lane in the Classic division. Next up was Thunder & Lightning where David Miley schooled the field to claim the win despite a 19 minute red flag for a rain shower. In Mini Stock action, we saw the “Rooftop Rocket” blast off to the lead as he dodged heavy lap traffic all feature long. Travis Reno dueled with Larry Sullivan, surrendering the race lead in turn 3 on the final lap, but quickly stole it back when Sullivan couldn’t hang onto his machine and spun in 4. The next division was a barn burner where Justin Summers and Keith Gregory wore each other out and raced hard every single lap as these two were virtually side-by-side the final 9 laps, but Summers was the quickest gun in this shootout. And in Limited Late Model, Rusty Ballenger, Eric Tipton, and Josh Collins were dueling for the race lead on lap 25 until the 2012 Limited Late Model points leader Josh Collins made a rare mistake which resulted in him grinding the turn 2 wall. In the end, Rusty Ballenger claimed the checkers, and with Collins’ misfortune and Ballengers’ race win, the points lead in Limited Late Model is now tied between Collins and Ballenger!

Coming up this Saturday June 16th is another regular program but with increased purse! Limited Late Models will run for $1,000 with a $150 Fast Qualifier bonus! The Fast Qualifier will be the ONLY competitor getting locked into the show, all other drivers must run a heat race. Also in action will be the Mini Stock, running for $500, Thunder & Lightning gunning for $400, Topless Modified for $400, and Classic running for $300! All divisions with the exception of Limited Late Model will run 20 laps and will earn $41 to start. See you all this Saturday!

Crabtree busted again, while sparks fly early in Street Stock

Another great Saturday night of racing action is in the books at 411 Motor Speedway, and it was a barn burner. In the Street Stock division, we saw the sparks fly early as Travis Reno showed his displeasure with Bradly Lewelling. After the sparks cooled and the dust settled, Lewelling was the winner. Moving on to the Mini Stock division, the Rooftop Rocket took it to the rooftop of 411 Motor Speedway’s banking and claimed the win in that division. Next feature on the speedway was the NeSMITH Crate Late Models. David Crabtree sat on the pole, and jumped quickly to the lead. The dogfight was for 2nd as teammates Anthony White and Justin Summers ran door-to-door most of the night. After the dust settled, Crabtree took the win, with White and Summers the top 3. However, NeSMITH ordered the top 5 competitors to the tech room, where Crabtree and Summers were disqualified, handing the win to Anthony White. Next up was Thunder & Lightning, where Robbie Comer poured the coal to the field, easily walking with the win, and in Limited Late Models, Chase King and Adam Beeler ran side-by-side for the first 30 laps, until Josh Collins joined the fray and made it a 3-way battle for the win. All three drivers ran 3 wide for a couple of moments, before Chase King would claim the checkers!

Another great night of action is coming your way on April 14th, so circle the date and we’ll see you at Tennessee’s Action Track!
