Jason Ogle powers to win in Street Stock; Robbie Comer ends bad luck streak

More great racing was witnessed this past Saturday night at Tennessee’s Action Track! In Classic, Adam Engel muscled around Bart Baxter to claim the win. In Street Stock, Jason Ogle held off a strong field of cars to claim the victory. In Mini Stock, Keith Sands and David Singleton dueled virtually the entire feature, with Singleton taking his 10th win of 2012. In NeSmith Crates, Ryan King and Cory Hedgecock duked it out, with Hedgecock ultimately coming out on top. In Thunder & Lightning, the bad luck streak ended as Robbie Comer claimed the checkers. In Topless Modified, Keith Gregory made some noise as he picked up his 6th win of the season. And finally in Limited Late Model action, points leader Josh Collins led until just past halfway when mechanical trouble relegated him to a bad finish. Chase King went on to claim the checkers while Rusty Ballenger decreased his deficit to 15 points as the championship battle is shaping up nicely in Limited Late Model.

McCarter claims Limited victory, while Gregory flashes to Topless win

Another exciting night of racing is in the books at 411 Motor Speedway! The first feature of the night was the Thunder & Lightning, where Robbie Comer would spin in 2 on lap 3, but come back to take the win. Next up was the Mini Stock division. King would lead the first half of the race before breaking in turn 4 at the halfway point. Tommy Metler would claim the win, but get protested. He was determined to be .031″ beyond tolerance on angle milling of the head and declared illegal, awarding the win to David Singleton. Next up was the Classic division. Marvin Ray would start on the pole and never look back, claiming the checkers. The next division was the Topless Modified where Keith Gregory would wear out the competition through a series of early cautions, but the real noisemaker was Johnny Ridings, suffering a flat tire on the final lap 15 caution. That would set a green/white/checker finish due to the time limit expiring. Ridings would restart tail end of the lead lap, which was 7th, and in the final 2 laps, would charge all the way up to claim the 3rd spot. Finally, in the Limited Late Models, Pierce McCarter set fast time with a lap of 14.448. He would surrender the lead in turn 1 on lap 1 to Adam Beeler. Beeler would either slam the wall or come real close on lap 13. On lap 16, he would pull off the speedway, while at that very moment, Chase King powered around Pierce McCarter to claim 2nd, which King would then inherit the lead. But the lead was short-lived, as he JUST crossed the line to lead lap 17, would drop a driveshaft and coast around to turn 2, which ultimately handed the lead to McCarter. McCarter would lead the final 12 laps to claim the win. Brad Lowe finished up in 2nd but lodged a complete teardown protest. In the tech area, McCarter was declared legal.

Crabtree busted again, while sparks fly early in Street Stock

Another great Saturday night of racing action is in the books at 411 Motor Speedway, and it was a barn burner. In the Street Stock division, we saw the sparks fly early as Travis Reno showed his displeasure with Bradly Lewelling. After the sparks cooled and the dust settled, Lewelling was the winner. Moving on to the Mini Stock division, the Rooftop Rocket took it to the rooftop of 411 Motor Speedway’s banking and claimed the win in that division. Next feature on the speedway was the NeSMITH Crate Late Models. David Crabtree sat on the pole, and jumped quickly to the lead. The dogfight was for 2nd as teammates Anthony White and Justin Summers ran door-to-door most of the night. After the dust settled, Crabtree took the win, with White and Summers the top 3. However, NeSMITH ordered the top 5 competitors to the tech room, where Crabtree and Summers were disqualified, handing the win to Anthony White. Next up was Thunder & Lightning, where Robbie Comer poured the coal to the field, easily walking with the win, and in Limited Late Models, Chase King and Adam Beeler ran side-by-side for the first 30 laps, until Josh Collins joined the fray and made it a 3-way battle for the win. All three drivers ran 3 wide for a couple of moments, before Chase King would claim the checkers!

Another great night of action is coming your way on April 14th, so circle the date and we’ll see you at Tennessee’s Action Track!
