Ammie Atkins and Angie Alvey score Powder Puff wins

What a successful night we had on Saturday fans! If you didn’t make it out to the track, you missed a real nice one! Over 110 drivers signed in at the ticket booth, including 20 ladies for our Powder Puff races! Now we’ll take a minute to celebrate our victors! They include, Philip Thompson (Classic), Jason Gregory (Mini Stock), Jerry Hux (Street Stock), Mike Lewis (Modified), Chase King (Thunder & Lightning), Trevor Sise (Limited Late Model), Ammie Atkins (Powder Puff 1), and Angie Alvey (Powder Puff 2)!

Join us this Saturday as we close out the 2013 championship points season! Congratulations to our champions who have clinched prior to the final race: Marvin Ray (2013 Classic Division Champion), Rusty Ballenger (2013 Limited Late Model Division Champion), David Price (2013 Street Stock Division Champion) and Johnny Ridings (2013 Modified Division Champion). There’s still 2 classes left to crown champions. Rocky McNabb only needs to make a lap in the feature on Saturday to be crowned the 2013 Mini Stock Division Champion. In Thunder & Lightning, only 15 points separate the top 2, with Robbie Comer leading Rocky Ogle. Comer needs to finish no worse than 3 positions behind Ogle in order to clinch the championship. If Ogle wins, Comer would need to finish no worse than 2nd position to clinch the championship. Comer has the most wins, so he would win the tie-breaker. Ogle will need to finish 4 positions better than Comer, or win and he would need Comer to finish 3rd or worse.

We’ll get everything started with the gates opening at 3:00p ET, with the drivers meeting set for 5:00p ET and hotlaps immediately after. Adult Grandstand admission is only $10, with kids 6-11 being only $5 and kids 5 & under free. Tier Parking is $15 per person, regardless of age. Pit Passes are $25 for Adults, and $15 for kids 11 & under (minor release must be filled out). See you on Saturday as we close out the points season!

McCarter returns to victory lane in LLM as Metler scores win in MS

Mother Nature finally gave us a Saturday evening with beautiful weather so we could get a great night of racing action in! Starting the night off, Cory Hedgecock would set fast time in Limited Late Model qualifying, by nearly smashing the Limited Late Model division record by laying down a lap of 13.566, just shy of the 13.559 set by Adam Beeler on March 30th, 2013. The first feature of the night was Classic, where Philip Thompson took the win. Then it was Mini Stock, where the veteran Tommy Metler took the win. Next was the Street Stock division, where Dwayne Fox again took the win. Then it was Topless Modified, with Wayne James cruising to victory…until the last turn of the feature, where he would suffer a broken tie-rod, handing the win over to William Hux. Next was Thunder & Lightning, where Brad Lowe blew the field away. The final feature of the night was Limited Late Model, where Pierce McCarter cruised to victory.

Thompson takes Classic win before rain halts program

Mother Nature would affect the racing program again for the 2013 season, this time ending the night during feature racing. Only 1 division got their feature in, while a 2nd division got a 6 laps shy from halfway. Philip Thompson would take the win in Classic, while Adam Beeler would be the leader at lap 14 of the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model feature.

NeSmith Officials announced Monday that this feature will be continued from lap 14 on August 24th in what will now be a double-header of sorts for NeSmith on that night. 411 Motor Speedway officials will announce at a later time what it plans to do for the support classes.

As previously announced, fans wishing to use their armbands or ticket stubs from Saturday’s rainout may do so either by using them on an upcoming special event, or may use them this Saturday for our regular championship points racing program, however, fans need to be advised that no refunds will be issued for the price difference. Fans may also use them at any other regular championship points racing event. Fans wishing to hold onto the ticket stubs or armbands to use on August 24th may do that also.
