Openshaw, Davis take wins in USCS Sprints, Griffith takes Mod Lite win

The USCS Sprint Car Series invaded the 411 Motor Speedway on Friday night for a great night of racing excitement. The first feature on the speedway was the Mini Stock division as Rocky McNabb took the win. Next was Mod Lite as they made their first-ever trip to 411 Motor Speedway. Jackson Griffith ‘smoked’ the field. Next was Thunder & Lightning, where David Miley took the win. Next up was the USCS 600cc Sprints, where it was Chris Openshaw taking the win. Limited Late Models were up next, where Rusty Ballenger was holding off several challenges from Matt Henderson, until Henderson would drop fluid, causing an 7-car pileup in turn 1. This shook the running order up, but Ballenger held off Josh Henry to take the win after the time limit expired on lap 17. The final feature of the night was the USCS 360 Outlaw Sprints, where this feature was too cut short by the Sevier County Sheriff’s Department on lap 15, where Dalton Davis would take the win.

We’re back to regular weekly points racing this Saturday May 11th. It’ll be another great night, so be sure to make your plans to enjoy the action!

Attention All Drivers: Safety Inspections Coming

The next few weeks, all classes must go through a SAFETY INSPECTION before you will be allowed on the track for hotlaps, qualifying, or racing. All safety components will be inspected, especially painted driveshafts and lead weights. It might be wise to bring a can of white paint with you. If they’re dirty and can’t be seen, they need to be repainted. Also, you’ll need to bring your helmet, driver suit, shoes, gloves, and raceceiver for inspection. Seat belts are a maximum of 3 years old. Driveshaft loops, battery boxes, and fuel cells will be checked for proper installation, along with any other safety rules. This week, if you don’t have a WORKING raceceiver, you will NOT be allowed to race. You will be asked to respond while on the track and if you don’t have one, you will be removed from the track. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Make plans to get there early enough to be inspected. Race cars will be inspected and MUST pass before you’re allowed on the track.

So go ahead and prepare yourselves and everything will be ok. I’m giving you a heads up now so there is no reason you shouldn’t pass. This is your safety and the safety of others. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Dates of inspections:
April 27th: Limited Late Model and Topless Modified
May 11th: Thunder & Lightning and Street Stock
May 18th: Classic, Mini Stock, and Junior Hornets

Thank you for your time and cooperation, and we’ll see you early on these dates!

Kevin Lewis captures first-ever feature win in Topless, Beeler shines in Limited

Another great night of racing is in the books at Tennessee’s Action Track, and the action was breathtaking in two divisions on a cool Saturday night! First on the track was the Mini Stock, where David Singleton, Tommy Metler, and Rocky McNabb were your top 3, all nose-to-tail on the final lap, but contact between McNabb and Metler would send Metler around into 3, allowing Singleton to skate away with the win. Next was Topless Modified, where Kevin Lewis would score his first-ever feature win. Classic was the next division, where Bart Baxter and Marvin Ray battled back and forth the final 10 laps side-by-side for the win, with Baxter coming out on top. In Thunder & Lightning, Robbie Comer and David Miley were the ones to fight for the lead early, but Comer would eventually pull away to claim the win. In Street Stock action, Dale Watson made his return to victory lane, and rounding out the night was the Limited Late Model, where Adam Beeler snatched the lead away early from Cory Hedgecock and never looked back.

Join us this Saturday night as we host Championship Points Race #4! All 7 divisions are on the card, however so far this year we haven’t had any cars show up in Junior Hornet except for the first night. So if you have a Junior Hornet, come on to the track and tell all your friends! The Mini Stock, Junior Hornet, Topless Modified, Classic, Thunder & Lightning, Street Stock, and Limited Late Model divisions are on the card.
