RACE NIGHT RECAP

Mod-Mini
In Mod Mini action, we saw Nick Perry take over the early lead on the start, but Rocky McNabb would be hot on his heels after finally making his way around John Stout. However, about midway through the feature, Perry would lose the handle on his machine and smack the turn 4 wall, appearing to break a brake rotor and driving into the infield to eventually stop to keep the race under green. This handed the lead over to eventual feature winner McNabb. Tim Miller, who looked strong at times, would get past Stout, who would fade to finish up in 3rd.

Topless Modified
In Topless Modified action, we saw Mike Lewis jump out with the early lead, with Johnny Ridings in 2nd and Bo Allison in 3rd. This feature would be only 12 laps due to being only 3 cars, and they would basically make laps in this one.

Street Stock
In Street Stock action, we saw Jesse Helton jump out with the early lead in this feature. However, he would have a mirror full of several drivers throughout the feature. However, bad luck struck another race leader in this one, as he would spin off turn 2 after Booger Brooks jumped the restart, moving from 5th to 1st by turn 1. Helton would get hit by Quinn Bender, who looked strong early as well, and also collected Drew Kennedy, who was having a good race as well. The afternoon would be concluded for both Kennedy and Bender. Helton would reassume the lead, however, something was amiss in his machine, and he would pull off. This handed the lead over to Jon Cook. He would have a mirror full of both Jeff McLemore and 2010 champ Raymond Shepard, but after the checkers flew and dust had settled, Jon Cook would get the feature win, with McLemore and Shepard rounding out the top 3. Bradly Lewelling crossed the line first on the track, but since both he and Brooks were found illegal after the heat race, neither drivers were being scored.

Classic
In Classics action, we saw Logan Dukes jump out to the early lead, however on lap 2, he would break something in the left-front suspension going into turn #1. The field would make their way around Dukes, but Dukes’ afternoon would come to a premature end. This handed the race lead to Phil Blackford, who over the course of the next several laps would feel the heat from behind, eventually bobbling in turn 4 just enough to hand over the race lead to Jay Eubanks. Eubanks would then lead the field for the next handful of laps, where with just a few laps to go, Robbie Sands finally roughed up Eubanks just enough to squeeze by, and sailing off with the feature win. Eubanks finished up 2nd, with Bobby Pressley hanging onto 3rd.

Late Model
In Late Model action, we saw Brad Lowe set the fast time — a new track record at that — by laying down a blazing lap of 13.979! He would pick up where he left off by dusting the field in the Fast Car Dash, however, when feature time rolled around, the action would heat up. With Lowe taking off with the early lead, Anthony White would challenge every single lap, but it wasn’t a walk in the park for White. About midway in the feature, White would finally muscle around the machine of Lowe, while Lowe would start to fade to the clutches of Jason Welshan, who came from his 7th starting spot to begin challenging for the top few spots. Ryan King began to put the pressure late on Welshan, who in turn would have a mirror full of Josh Collins, who started 9th. Rusty Ballenger looked strong early, but the long green flag run we seen was not to his advantage, as he would fade back a little bit. In the end, Anthony White would cross the line first, 2nd would be Brad Lowe, and 3rd would be Jason Welshan. However, Lowe lodged a protest against White, who moments later would refuse teardown, handing the win over to Lowe, followed by Welshan, and King to round out your new top 3.
