Steelhead Nationals coming up October 28

The 11th annual Steelhead Nationals is set to take place on Saturday, October 28. This year’s edition will pay $3,500 to the winner.

Rusty Ballenger is the defending race winner. He will be back to repeat his win against some of the best steelhead late model drivers from the area. 411 regulars such as Chase King, Jason Cardwell, Trevor Sise, Jerry Green, Layne Clifton, and others will join drivers such as Cory Hedgecock, Eddie King Jr., Ruben Mayfield, Anthony White, Jason Manley, Johnny Ridings, Jason Trammell on the expected drivers list. The race will pay $200 to start. There is no entry fee.

Also racing will be sportsman for $800 to win, open wheels for $700 to win, modified streets for $700 to win, and classic cars for $500 to win.

There will also be an open practice on Friday, October 27 for all classes from 5-9 p.m. Pit admission is $10, the grandstands will be open for free.

Adult admission is $15 general admission, kids 12 and under are free. Pit passes and tier parking is $30 for adults, kids 12 and under are $15.

For teams attending the open practice and spending the night on site, the pits will be cleared at 11 a.m. Gates open at noon with the drivers meeting set for 3:00 followed by hot laps, time trials, and racing action.
