7th annual “Hangover” coming December 31

The 7th annual “Hangover” is the next race at 411 Motor Speedway on Saturday, December 31. The 40-lap event will be sanctioned by CT Promotions.

The $4,000 to win race is expected to draw some top super late model drivers from across the region. Donald McIntosh will be back to make it back-to-back Hangover wins.

Also racing will be crate late models for $1,500 to win, open wheel modifieds for $1,200 to win, sportsman late models for $700 to win, and mod lites for $1,000 to win.

The Super Late Model portion of the event will be sanctioned by CT Promotions and will race under Southern Nationals Series rules and procedures with the following tire compound rules for all four tires on the cars:  Hoosier 1350, 1600 and/or American Racer 48, 56.  The entry fee for Super Late Models is $100.  The Open Wheel Modifieds will also race under CT Promotions sanctioned rules and procedures with UMP DirtCar body rules and use the following tire compound rules on the cars:  All four corners – Hoosier A40S, A40, H40 and/or American Racer Hard, Extra Hard.  The entry fee for Modifieds is $10.  Also of note, CT Promotions has posted bonuses for drivers who have their machines equipped with a Steel Head/SPEC or CT525 engine.  The highest finishing Steel Head/SPEC Late Model entry in the Hangover 40 A-Main will receive a $200 bonus, while the highest finishing CT525 Late Model entry in the Hangover 40 A-Main will receive a $200 bonus.  Also, random tire samples will taken and any car is subject to this process at anytime during the course of the event.

Weight and spoiler rules for Super Late Models for the event are as follows:  Open Motors- 2,350 lbs. and 8” spoiler; Steel Head/SPEC Motor Only- 2,300 lbs. and 8” spoiler with 12” sides; CT525 Motors- 2,250 lbs. and 8” spoiler; ALL Steel Motors/Crate Engines- 2,250 lbs. and 8” spoiler with 12” sides.  There will also be a one pound per lap, plus five more pounds, burn off in last chance heats and A-Main.  Any driver utilizing a HANS safety device will receive a 30 pound weight break and any car that has a working fire extinguisher on board will receive a 20 pound weight break.  The rules in place for the event are based off the 2016 Southern Nationals Series rule book and can viewed online at www.SouthernNationalsSeries.com. The Open Wheel Modifieds must weigh in at a minimum of 2,400 lbs. at all times.

Transponders will be used for timing and scoring and those can be rented for $20 for Super Late Model competitors ($10 user fee if driver has their own transponder).  Also, transponder timing and scoring will be used for all support divisions as well.  The transponder rental fee will be $5 for all competitors in the support divisions.  Drivers will need to bring some form of deposit for their transponder rental, either in the form of credit card or cash for the transponder.

The Crate Late Model, Sportsman Late Models, and Street Stocks will race according to the rules and procedures normally in use at 411 Motor Speedway.  The Mod Lites will race according to the rules of their series organization rules and race procedures.

Gates will open at 8 a.m. The driver’s meeting is scheduled for 11:45 immediately followed by hot laps, qualifying, and racing.

General admission tickets are $20 for adults, kids 12 and under are free. Pit passes are $35 for adults, kids 12 and under are $15.

There will be an open practice on Friday, December 30 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Gates will open at 5:00. Grandstands will be open for free to the public, pit passes will be $15 per person.
