Frostbuster 50 coming Saturday, February 27

The first annual Frostbuster 50 is set to take place on Saturday, February 27. The $7,151 to win race will be sanctioned by the Southern National Bonus Series.

Some of the area’s top super late model racers are expected for the Frostbuster 50. Hangover winner Donald McIntosh, Ray Cook, Cory Hedgecock, and many others are just some of the drivers expected at 411 Motor Speedway. The program will consist of time trials, heat races, and the 50-lap main event.

Also racing will be the crate late models for $1,500 to win (Hangover crate rules apply), sportsman and street stocks for $700 to win each, and mini stocks for $500 to win.

Pit gates will open at 9 a.m. and grandstand gates will open at 11 a.m. The driver’s meeting is scheduled for noon followed by hot laps, time trials, and green flag racing.

Adult general admission is $20, children 12 and under are free. Pit passes are $35 for adults, kids 12 and under are $15 with a signed release.

The Southern Nationals Bonus Series entry fee for the Frostbuster event will be $100. The tire rule for the weekend will be as follows: Hoosier 1350/1600 along with the American Racer 48/56. Also, the highest finishing driver using a CT525 engine package will receive a $200 bonus and the highest finishing driver using a Steel Head/SPEC engine package will receive a $200 bonus courtesy of the series.

Any driver will be allowed to run in two classes, but must purchase two armbands to do so.
