Seymour, TN – On another beautiful Saturday afternoon, the stars of the 411 Motor Speedway would come out in full force to give fans one heck of a night of on-track action. For the first time in a few years, we would host double features in one of our divisions who has had the best overall car count average for the 2nd year. Kicking the night off was Mini Stock Qualifying, where John Byers set a new Mini Stock qualifying record with his blazing lap of 16.896. NeSmith Late Model was next where Rusty Ballenger took fast qualifier honors with his lap of 14.173. The fields were set through heat race action, where we rolled into features. First was Mini Stock Feature 1, where the qualifying results were the starting lineup. Nick Perry would take the win. Street Stock was next, where Travis Reno returned to victory lane. Sportsman was dominated by Terry Poore. Mini Stock Feature 2 was next, where the drivers were brought to the infield, and based on how they finished the first feature, from winner to last place, each driver would re-draw for starting position. After the checkered flag fell in this time-shortened feature, Michael Courtney was sitting in victory lane – after starting 18th! Capping the night off was NeSmith Late Model where Ryan King dominated, leading all 30 laps en-route to his 3rd win of the season.

Join us this Tuesday June 17th as we host Open Practice, hopefully with no help from Mother Nature this time. Gates will open at 5:30 with practice from 6-9. Admission in the pits will be $15, with the grandstands open free to spectators. Then join us on Saturday June 21st as we host Championship Points Race #10. This will also be kids night! All kids are invited to bring their bicycles and helmets, or running shoes, and participate in Foot Races and bicycle races. As a friendly reminder, those participating in bicycle races are *required* to wear a helmet. We’ll have a candy toss as usual, as well as a coin toss! As always, kids 12 & under are free in the grandstands with a paying adult. The bicycles will be placed near the souvenir booth or can be left in vehicles. Listen for the call over the PA to get your bicycles, or be sure to have them ready as the kids night festivities will kick off immediately following the final heat race of the night. All gates open at 3:00p ET, with drivers meeting slated for 6:00p ET, hotlaps around 6:15p ET and qualifying getting underway around 7:00p ET. Adults in the grandstands $10, kids 12 & under free with paid adult. Adult Pit Passes $25, kids 12 & under $15 with signed minor release. See you Tuesday and Saturday nights!

Mini Stock Feature 1
Kicking off the night was Qualifying for Mini Stock, where John Byers set a new divisional record with his lap of 16.896. That placed him on the pole for feature 1. Off 2, it was Byers in command, but down the backstretch after clicking off lap 1, his machine would appear to slow. This handed the lead over to Nick Perry, while Byers slid back to about the 8th spot. Byers would get his machine back underway and rally to finish in the 3rd spot. Michael Courtney moved from his 5th place starting spot to finish 2nd, while Nick Perry claimed the first feature win, his 2nd race in a row.

Street Stock
Street Stock was the next feature, where the front row was made up of Travis Reno on the pole and David Price, last year’s Street Stock Champion, making up the outside front row. At the drop of the green flag, it was all Reno, but the battle was about midway through the field, where current points leader Dale Watson, who had a crash in his heat race, started in the 11th position. At the drop of the checkered flag, Reno was the winner, with Price coming home 2nd and Jeff McLemore rounding out the top 3. Remember Dale Watson? Well he drove from 11th to a 4th place finish.

Mini Stock Feature 2
Next, the Mini Stock division was brought into the infield, where each competitor, working from the winner of feature 1 to the last place finisher, would re-draw for starting position. Colt Thomasson would be the luckiest, as he would start on the pole. Joining him on the outside was Jeff Thatcher. At the drop of the green flag, the initial start was called off as Thomasson couldn’t get his machine going. He would then elect to start in the rear. Track officials made double sure this was the drivers choice, and Thomasson made it clear where he wanted to start. This brought Kyle Courtney to the pole, where he would jump to the early lead. Unfortunately for Kyle Courtney, smoke would immediately billow from his machine. Track officials let him continue on, until spotting oil on the track on lap 5. Caution flew, and Kyle Courtney was black-flagged for safety reasons. The field would be bunched back up, and it was Michael Courtney, who started 18th, would blast into the lead on lap 6 and through a series of cautions, would take the checkers on lap 10. Coming in 2nd was 8th-place starter John Byers, and 9th-place starter Nick Perry rounding out the top 3 of the 2nd feature.

NeSmith Late Model
Capping off the night was NeSmith Late Model, where Rusty Ballenger would start on the pole, after qualifying with fast qualifier honors, starting 3rd in the Fast Car Dash, and going on to win the dash. Joining him on the front row was Ryan King. At the green, King would quickly move into the race lead, leaving Ballenger to fend off advances from Adam Beeler. King would lead flag to flag of his 30 lap feature, with Adam Beeler eventually working around Ballenger for the 2nd spot. Ballenger would finish up 3rd, with Greg Martin coming home 4th and rounding out the top 5 was Brad Coffey.
