Seymour, TN – NeSmith and 411 Motor Speedway officials have been keeping track of the weather forecast all week, but Mother Nature has decided she wants the upper hand. With an increased chance of rain on Saturday, officials have elected to postpone the entire Ole Smoky Moonshine Nationals weekend to April 3rd through 5th. Everything will be the same, just a different date. “The NeSmith competitors took a huge hit down in Florida,” said Markus Hankins, Public Relations Director for 411 Motor Speedway. “enduring an unprecedented 5 consecutive day washout, and with Saturday having now an increased chance of rain, it was best, for the fans and competitors, to postpone the event a week.” Once again, the entire weekend has been postponed, meaning no practice tonight, and no racing this Friday or Saturday. We’ll get geared up and next weekend should be clearer and warmer!

The 2014 weekly racing season will now kick off on April 3rd-5th. Kicking off the first night will be an Open Practice scheduled for 5-9p ET on Thursday April 3rd. On Friday April 4th, the NeSmith Dirt Late Model Touring Series will be in action with a $2,000-to-win feature event over 40 laps, with support from the Mini Stock and Sportsman divisions, each for $1,000-to-win and $35-to-start, with no entry fee. Both support features will be 20 laps. On Saturday April 5th, we’ll again host the NeSmith Dirt Late Model Touring Series for a $3,000-to-win feature event across 50 laps. Providing support on Saturday night will be the Thunder & Lightning and Street Stock divisions, again each paying $1,000-to-win, $35-to-start with no entry fee. Both of those support features will be 20 laps.

For Thursday, pit gates will open at 12:00p ET, with practice running from 5-9p ET. Grandstands will be CLOSED, however, fans may spectate from Tier parking free of charge. Pits will be $15 per person.

For Friday, the pits will be cleared at 11:00a ET, followed by the pit & tier gates opening at 12:00p ET, with grandstand gates opening at 3:00p ET. Pricing will be $15 for adults in the grandstand, 6-11 $5, with 5 & under being free. Tier will be $25, regardless of age. Adult pit passes will be $35, with kids 11 & under $15.

For Saturday, the pits will be cleared at 11:00a ET, followed by the pit & tier gates opening at 12:00p ET, with grandstand gates opening at 3:00p ET. Pricing will be $15 for adults in the grandstand, 6-11 $5, with 5 & under being free. Tier will be $25, regardless of age. Adult pit passes will be $35, with kids 11 & under $15.

The drivers meeting for both nights will be 6:00p ET sharp, with hotlaps immediately following.

There are 3 types of multi-night pricing plans we will be offering. One will be a 3-night Pit Pass, which will be $80. For our folks that enjoy Tier, we’ll be selling a 2-night pass for $40. And not to leave out our fans in the grandstands, we’ll have a 2-night special selling for $25 in the grandstands.

This will be the NeSmith Dirt Late Model Touring Series’ 5th visit to the 411 Motor Speedway. In 2012, Crossville, TN’s Chris Wilson won the inaugural J.T. Kerr Memorial 40. In 2013, the series made three stops at the speedway. The first of which, the 2nd Annual J.T. Kerr Memorial 40, was rained out just shy of halfway. When the J.T. Kerr Memorial 40 resumed later in the season, it was coupled with the Ole Smoky Moonshine 50, both of which were won by Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, TN. The inaugural Summer Sizzler in 2013 was won by Junction City, KY’s Todd Coffman.
