Special Announcement: All Fans, Drivers, Crew Must Read

As many of our fans and competitors know, this Saturday marks an occasion which began in 2011. This year marks the 3rd year of our “Topless for Tata’s”, and as always, we wish to make this one memorable, and top what we did last year. So we’ve come up with a plan. The only thing is, we need YOUR help. We wish to paint the entire grandstands pink this Saturday in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness, and in honor of survivors, and in memory of those we’ve lost. So we encourage all fans to wear pink shirts this weekend (doesn’t have to be plain, just pink). We also ask that all our drivers help our and dress pink also. In addition, we ask that EVERY driver do something to honor this cause. Pink duct tape and pink ribbon can be found at any crafts store (Hobby Lobby, Jo-Ann’s, Michael’s, even Walmart). You can tape over your car number in pink, and put ribbon around your rollbars and anything else you may get creative with.

One other request that we have, is that if you know someone who is battling breast cancer right now or who has won their battle, to please contact Tanya McCarter as soon as possible at 865-368-2215. We want to honor every breast cancer survivor and those currently battling breat cancer. We have a plan in place to honor those folks, but we need to get a list of people together and get everything coordinated. So again, if you’re a breast cancer survivor or are battling breast cancer, please contact Mrs. McCarter as soon as possible and tell her you read the special announcement on the website.
We want to thank all the drivers, crew members, fans, and staff members who help participate in this cause this Saturday night. One of our own staff members, Kristy Galyon, has been affected by breast cancer, and the Mother of Thunder & Lightning driver David Kerr, Keisha Kerr-Williams, is currently battling, so it goes without saying that this cause hits close to home to us. So show your support for all the women across the country, and wear all the pink you have this Saturday October 19th. Also scheduled for this Saturday is a Powder Puff race, which is for females only. So drivers, if you know someone who has always wanted to race, offer them your ride! All that’s required from the ladies is a racing suit and helmet! The cars and drivers will be separated based on speed and experience.
