Hux takes first win; protests galore in 3 divisions

Another great night of racing is in the books at 411 Motor Speedway! We’d like to congratulate all our winners: Brad Lowe (CLM), Jerry Hux (TM), Robbie Comer (ST/MS), Joey Allen (MM)! In Street Stock, Shannon Emery was first to the finish line AND first in the tech room; he was protested and declared LEGAL, retaining the victory! In Mini-Stock, Shawn Henry was first across the line but refused to tear down, handing the win to David Singleton. And finally, in Limited Late Model, Josh Henry was first across the line, followed by Rusty Ballenger and Brad Lowe. However, Lowe would lodge a protest again Ballenger. Ballenger refused, and then lodged a protest against Henry. Henry refused, handing the win to Brad Lowe.

Coming up on Saturday, October 22nd, is the 5th Annual Steel Head Championship! Who will etch their name in history as winner of this event? Crate Late Model – A-Main
Trevor Sise and Brad Lowe your front row, ready to roll, GREEN FLAG! Bill Morgan already battling for the race lead, steals it off turn 4! Sise in the 2nd spot, 3rd is Lowe. Battle rages for 4th as Cory Cate and Marty Calloway do battle. Lowe looking inside Sise for the spot off turn 4, he’ll make the pass in turn 2. Morgan still your race leader as they click off lap 4. Lowe closing in on the race leader, he’ll look up high off turn 2 but now Terry Poore rolls to a stop in turn 3 here on lap 5.
Green flag back in the air! Morgan quickly gets the jump on the field into turn 1, Lowe in 2nd with a mirror full of Sise, now Lowe starts to pull away. Calloway in 4th with Cate right behind him as Cory Hedgecock and Clyde Stanton close in. Hedgecock now looks inside Cate off turn 4, falls back in line. Now Lowe closes in on the race lead, but Morgan has command on the low line tonight. Now off turn 2, Lowe closes in as they sail into 3, stays glued off turn 4. Now off turn 2, Lowe will try inside for a moment, can’t make it stick into turn 3. 11 laps are in the books, Morgan your leader over Lowe, Sise, and Calloway. Justin Beeler gets a piece of the turn 2 wall now as we see Lowe on the outside Morgan for the lead, Morgan bobbles and Lowe will power around the high line for the race lead here on lap 13. Beeler pulls into the infield with mechanical trouble. Now Lowe begins to power away with the race lead but heavy lap traffic is coming up for the leader. Lowe will have to look inside Von Smith, but now they’ll drive around as caution flies here on lap 16 as Hedgecock pounds the turn 1 wall and caution flies.

Green flag back in the air one more time! Lowe leads the field off turn 4, with a mirror full of Morgan, Sise, and Calloway as they sail into turn 1! Morgan tries to power into the lead into turn 1, can’t make it stick off turn 2, they’ll battle side by side off turn 4 but Morgan must fall back in line into turn 1. Lowe your leader, Morgan in 2nd, Sise in 3rd now as Cate gets sideways off turn 2. Checkers in the air, Lowe with the win, Morgan in 2nd, and 3rd goes to Sise!

Keith Gregory and Johnny Ridings your front row, GREEN FLAG! Gregory and Ridings race side by side into turn 3, Ridings will lead the first lap. They’ll stay side by side off turn 2, Ridings powers off 4 with the lead into turn 1. Gregory and Ridings side by side now as Jerry Hux begins to close on both of them with Paul Johnson in the 4th spot with Mike Lewis in 5th. Still side by side for the lead here with 3 laps in the books. Ridings up high, Gregory down low. Gregory with the advantage off turn 4, and off turn 2 he’ll clear for the lead. Gregory your leader, Ridings in 2nd, Hux in 3rd with 5 laps complete. Hux in the 2nd spot now, but Ridings will get into his rear bumper and caution flies.

Green flag back in the air! Gregory the leader, now a broken shock on his machine quickly, so he’ll surrender the lead. Hux the new leader, Johnson in 2nd, 3rd is now M. Lewis. 13 laps in the books, M. Lewis begins to close in on both the top 2 as Johnson is a little loose on exit. Johnson now looks inside for the race lead off turn 4, but Hux is a hard charger up high. Johnson now has a tight issue off turn 4, so he’ll fall in line behind Hux! Hux your leader, Johnson in 2nd, 3rd is Lewis with 3 laps to go. White flag in the air, Johnson has 2 more corners now to challenge for the win, Dives low in 3, can’t make it happen, Hux will pick up the win, Johnson in 2nd, and Lewis comes home 3rd.

Shannon Emery and Jon Cook your front row, green flag is in the air! Cook gets sideways off turn 4, hangs onto his machine but he’s lost some ground to the race leader. Apaches Quinton closing in on Cook as Dale Watson tries to follow suit. Now Watson looks inside on Quinton into turn 3 as Cook gets sideways, Watson claims 3rd. He’ll look inside off turn 2, no trouble, Watson into the 2nd spot but can he chase down race leader Emery? 4 laps are in the books, so he’s got plenty of time. Michael Boyd in the 5th spot, Jason Long a few car lengths behind as Daniel Lawson goes around in turn 4 here on lap 5.

Green flag back in the air! Quinton jumps on the inside of Cook, powers into the 3rd spot. Watson so far not able to make a run on Emery since the green flag, but he’s still got time to chase down our leader. Watson closes slightly as Quinton has his hands full. Emery beginning to pull away slightly over Watson. Meanwhile, Long trying to hold off Mike Kelley and Billy Sands, as Junior Merriman tries to hold off Chris Nix and Daniel Lawson as Lawson looks to make his way around Nix with the leader not far behind. Emery your leader here on lap 12, Sands makes his way around Kelley for the spot. Nix and Lawson battle it out as the leader has bypassed them. Emery still leads with 5 laps remaining, Watson in 2nd as heavy lap traffic is just ahead, now looks like Sands is up in smoke off turn 4, but we’ll stay green! Emery your leader, Watson in 2nd, Now Emery puts a lap on Long, as the white flag flies. Checkers in the air, Emery your winner, Watson in 2nd, and 3rd goes to Quinton. At the end of this feature, Watson lodged a protest against winner Emery. Emery obliged, and was found to be legal and retains the win.

Freddy Hillard and Steve Hillard lead the field into turn 1, now S. Hillard with the lead now as caution flies here as Barry Duncan is around in 4 on lap 2.

Green flag back in the air! Robbie Comer and Rocky Ogle each jump the start, F. Hillard now has some damage on the left-front, so he’ll stop in turn 2. Appears the machine is broke on the left front suspension, so caution will fly here on lap 2.

S. Hillard pulls off the track under caution, both machines are broke, so the leader will be Comer! Green flag back in the air! Comer with the lead, Ogle in 2nd, Jordon Horton in 3rd, with Tom Huston and Duncan rounding out the field, now Duncan and Huston get together, and caution flies once again. 3 laps now in the books.

Green flag back in the air! Comer your leader as he drives away, Horton steals 2nd into turn 3, that’ll drop Ogle back to 3rd, with Duncan and Huston rounding out the field, but now Duncan dishes payback to Huston and flattens the right-rear tire on the Huston machine, so Huston will head pitside for a tire change. And now Duncan has a flat on his right-rear, and he’ll pull into the infield. Now Horton slows and pulls into the infield and now there’s only 2 trucks left, Comer and Ogle. Checkers will be thrown here on lap 15, Comer and Ogle are the last trucks standing, and Horton gets credited with 3rd

Bryan Gregory and Joey Allen lead the field off turn 4, GREEN FLAG IN THE AIR! Chuck McMahan looks inside for the lead into turn 1, falls back in line. Gregory and Allen battling for the lead, still side by side into turn 3. Brian Dinkins in the 3rd spot with McMahan in 4th. Allen claims the race lead off turn 2, Gregory back to 2nd, Dinkins in 3rd but now he’ll bobble and McMahan looks inside off turn 2 as Gregory and Allen get together off turn 4. 4 laps are in the books. Allen still showing the way over Gregory and McMahan as they click off lap 7. Wayne Hopson looking to close in on Dinkins, and now smoke billows from the Hopson machine. Allen your leader, Gregory in 2nd, McMahan still in 3rd. But now Hayston Collett is around in turn 2 here on lap 9.

Green flag back in the air, Allen your leader, Gregory in 2nd, McMahan in 3rd as they sail into turn 1. Now Gregory gets sideways off turn 4, McMahan was on his inside, looks like some damage to the McMahan machine.

Green flag back in the air! Allen still your race leader, Dinkins now in the 2nd spot, Hopson in 3rd with a mirror full of Gregory. Gregory now slides into the 3rd spot, now he’ll look inside now he will hook Dinkins, so Gregory’s night will be called complete here on lap 13 as caution flies once more.

Green flag back in the air! McMahan loved seeing that caution as he will get caught up to the field, now he dives inside Hopson, looks inside on Dinkins into turn 3, off turn 4 he gets sideways and falls in line. Hopson sideways into turn 1, hangs onto it. 16 laps are complete, Allen your leader, Dinkins in 2nd with McMahan on his inside off turn 2 here on lap 17. Battle for 2nd now off turn 2, McMahan falls back in line, now Dinkins gets sideways off turn 2, McMahan will try up high. Takes it off turn 4. Checkers in the air, Allen with the win, McMahan in 2nd, and Dinkins in 3rd.

Shawn Henry and David Singleton your front row, GREEN FLAG! D. Singleton with the lead into turn 3 but Henry battles back. Now D. Singleton begins to pull away from Henry, with Anthony Singleton in 3rd, Jeff Thatcher 4th with Blake Hall 5th and Tony Stanton 6th as they sail into 3. Now Hall around in turn 4, caution flies here on lap 2.

Green flag back in the air, A. Singleton jumps the start and he’ll snatch the 2nd place spot but now Henry powers back around into turn 1. D. Singleton your leader, Henry in 2nd, A. Singleton in 3rd, Thatcher and Stanton round out the top 5. Brandon Johnson closing in on 5th with Clifford Sands and Steve Owens, Jr. in tow. Henry and D. Singleton are now side by side as they dive into turn 3, Henry gets way sideways, he’ll hang onto that machine! Johnson on the inside of Stanton down the backstretch, with Sands in tow, so move Sands up a spot. D. Singleton your leader, Henry in 2nd, A. Singleton in 3rd with Thatcher in 4th but 5th is up for grabs as Sands moves around Johnson for the spot with 8 laps in the books. Stanton now gives up the spot to Owens, Jr. now as Sam Burgess closes in on him. Back up front, halfway done in this one, D. Singleton your leader, Henry in 2nd, A. Singleton in 3rd. Now Burgess makes contact with the turn 1 wall, tough break for Burgess as that’s the 2nd trip into the turn 1 wall tonight. Caution flies here on lap 12.

Green flag back in the air! But no sooner than we go green, A. Singleton turns Henry around in turn 2. A. Singleton to the rear, Henry goes back to 2nd.

Green flag in the air, D. Singleton hard on the gas off turn 4, Henry in the 2nd spot, Sands in 3rd, with Thatcher in 4th and Johnson 5th. Henry now powers inside for the lead into 1, D. Singleton battles back off 2, but off 4 it’s all Henry. Now A. Singleton slows in turn 4, crawls around the track waiting for a caution, doesn’t get it, so he‘ll finally pull off the speedway as directed so we’ll stay green. Now caution flies here on lap 17 as Keith Sands loses fluid off turn 2.

Green flag back in the air, time limit has expired so it’ll be a green white checker. Checkers in the air. Henry with the win, D. Singleton comes home 2nd and 3rd will go to Thatcher! At the conclusion of this feature, D. Singleton lodged a protest against Henry. Henry refused to tear down, so Singleton gets the win, Thatcher gets 2nd and 3rd goes to Johnson.

Josh Henry your polesitter has chosen the outside, Jason Cardwell will take the inside! GREEN FLAG! Henry quickly takes the lead into turn 1 as Brad Lowe looks way up high in turn 1, Henry leads lap 1 with Cardwell in 2nd, 3rd is Lowe, 4th is Josh Collins, Mark Rosner 5th, Layne Clifton 7th, but here comes Rusty Ballenger, Ballenger looks inside, now Rosner gets sideways in turn 1, he’ll hang onto it as the Ray Varner Ford flag has came loose on the backstretch, still anchored to the fence for now. Henry your leader at lap 5, Lowe now in the 2nd spot, Cardwell 3rd, 4th is Collins and Ballenger challenging Rosner for the spot, Ballenger takes it into turn 1, off 2 he’ll stay door to door. Ballenger down low, Rosner up high, Ballenger now on the inside of Collins, as Henry begins to check out. Lowe in 2nd, Cardwell still 3rd with 8 laps in the books. Collins in the 4th spot but Ballenger closes up. Ballenger now looks inside, Collins, he’ll take the spot, now looks inside Cardwell, and they’ll race door to door into 1. Ballenger now claims the 3rd spot as Lowe closes up on the race leader, now Lowe looks low on the leader into 3, they’ll make contact, and off turn 4 on lap 12 we have a new leader! Lowe blowing through lap traffic now, Henry in 2nd, Ballenger in 3rd as lap traffic are racing each other here and racing the leaders. Collins closes up on Cardwell for the spot with 15 laps in. Adam Beeler pulls off here on lap 15. Back up front, Lowe the leader, Henry moving his line up higher, as Ballenger begins to close in, but here comes Henry. Henry beginning to close back in on the race leader slightly, as Collins begins to make the move on Cardwell, give Collins the 4th spot. Now here comes Ballenger, he’s on the bumper of Henry for the 2nd spot as we have several lappers racing 3 wide! Now the leader has HEAVY lapped traffic just in front, it’ll play a factor, throw a blanket over the top 3 here! Lowe the leader, Henry now dives inside, they make contact off turn 2 trying to negotiate the heavy lap traffic, now Henry to the point with 8 laps to go! WILD racing here! Ballenger now looking to close in on Lowe for the spot, still green flag here, these drivers are talented to say the least! Henry your leader, Ballenger and Lowe still battling side by side, now Ballenger looks low, Lowe up high, lap car in the way, Ballenger has to let Lowe go, and now they’ll race 3 wide with the lapper. Rosner around Cardwell now for the position! Now 3 laps remain. Henry your leader, Ballenger and Lowe side by side for 2nd still! White flag in the air, one more lap remains! Ballenger trying to close the deal on 2nd, pulls away, off turn 4, checkers in the air, Henry with the win, Ballenger in 2nd, and 3rd goes to Lowe!!! After the conclusion of this feature, Lowe lodged a protest against Ballenger. Ballenger refused to tear down. With Lowe now being scored 2nd, he would lodge another protest against winner Henry. Henry refused, giving the win to Lowe. 2nd was Collins and 3rd went to Clifton.
