Everyone’s a winner @ 411 Race Night

Another great night of racing is in the books at 411 Motor Speedway, and everyone came out a winner in the end! Racing was fast and furious all night as we seen Ryan King pick up the win in Crate Late Model, Robbie Sands rocketed to the win in Classic, Buddy Norwood came from out of nowhere to take the win in his first start of the season in Topless Modified, with Dale Watson outdueling both Arva Lee “Booger” Brooks and Bradly Lewelling in Street Stock. Cory Cate whipped up on some Mod Streets in Super Truck/Mod Street, while Michael Courtney blistered the field in Mod-Mini. Dalton King again won in Mini-Stock, with Greg Martin pouncing on the competition for the win in Limited Late Model. Cody Courtney returned to victory lane in Mini-Late Model.

With only 2 points races left in the season, we only have 2 more champions to declare! Mod-Mini and Mini-Late Model are yet-to-be-decided! Congrats to Adam Engel in Classic, Mike Lewis in Topless Modified, Dale Watson in Street Stock, Robbie Comer in Super Truck/Mod Street, Tommy Metler in Mini-Stock, and Josh Collins in Limited Late Model! Crate Late Model – A-Main
Strong car counts in all classes tonight, first feature set to go green. Ryan King and Jason Welshan lead the field to the green flag. King gets the jump into turn 1. Brian Courtney making some noise with Marty Calloway on his outside. Courtney into the 3rd spot now. Pierce McCarter in the 5th spot, Clyde Stanton behind him. Tyler Adams, Freddy Romines, and Adam Beeler round out the field. Back up front, 3 laps complete, King your leader over Welshan and Courtney as McCarter pulls off the speedway. Now Beeler into the outside wall off turn 4, looking for a place to pull in, does so off 2. Back up front, Welshan trying to reel back in the race leader, gets tight off turn 2 so he’ll lose a little ground. Calloway in the 4th spot with Stanton rounding out your top 5. Up front, Romines about to go a lap down to the race leader in 3, as Welshan is beginning to reel in King with 10 laps remaining. Now Welshan bounces around in 3 and 4 just trying to hang on for the ride, he’ll lose some ground to our race leader. Now Stanton looks inside Calloway for the spot as 13 laps are now complete. King has a lapped car between he and Welshan, now Welshan powers around Adams and tries to reel in the leader. Now smoke billowing from Welshan’s machine as Romines comes to a stop in turn 1 here on lap 14. First caution of the night. Welshan pulls off the speedway.
Green flag back in the air for the Crates! King your leader, Courtney in the 2nd spot, Calloway in 3rd, Stanton 4th, 5th is Adams and 6th is Romines. Adams having some handling issues tonight, he’s just hanging on it appears. Back up front, King your leader, Courtney in 2nd, Calloway in 3rd as Stanton tries to reel in Calloway for position. Off turn 4, white flag flies. Stanton still working on Calloway. Now checkers in the air, King takes the win, Courtney in 2nd, 3rd goes to Calloway.

Classic
Green flag in the air for the Classics. Marvin Ray and Adam Engel lead the field to the green. Logan Dukes takes the lead here on lap 2. Robbie Sands trying to move into the 2nd spot, Ray is giving him a run for his money down low. 3 wide off turn 2 for the lead, Sands takes the point in 3, now Engel makes a little contact with Ray off 4, Engel takes the 3rd spot, sets his sights on Dukes in the 2nd spot. Scott Russell rounding out the top 5, with Ron Rudder and Cameron Skinner rounding out your field. Meanwhile, Sands driving away with the lead, now about a second lead over Dukes. Engel trying to close the ground as Ray closes in on Engel for 3rd. 8 laps clicked off so far, Sands continuing to open his lead up, he’s got about a 2 second lead now as Engel looks to power inside Dukes in 3, falls back in line however. Now Engel trying to mount a run as we see Skinner looking inside Rudder for the spot at the back of the pack. Now 3 wide for a moment for 2nd place, Engel still hard at work on Dukes, but just can’t get the run off the corner to complete the pass. Sands opening it up a little more on these 2. Engel tries again, sparks fly from contact in 3. 5 laps remain in this one, Sands your leader by a long distance now, as he’ll put Rudder a lap down and go to work on Skinner. Engel still wearing out Dukes for the 2nd spot, now Dukes gets a little breathing room here with 2 laps to go. White flag flies, Sands has a clean track ahead now. Dukes hanging onto 2nd, Engel will try one more time in turn 3, they’ll drag race down the frontstretch, Sands your winner, Engel gets 2nd, Dukes will settle for 3rd!

Topless Modified
Green flag in the air for the Topless Modifieds. Jerry Hux gets the advantage off turn 4. Hux your leader, Buddy Norwood in 2nd, Johnny Ridings in 3rd and Paul Johnson rounds out your field here with 2 laps complete. Norwood trying to make the charge around Hux. 5 laps are complete, Hux your leader, Norwood a few car lengths behind, Ridings in 3rd and losing ground, with Johnson a few car lengths behind him. 8 laps are complete, Norwood isn’t going anywhere as he is wearing out the bumper of Hux. Ridings remains in 3rd with Johnson rounding out the field. Norwood bumps Hux off turn 2, powers into the lead in turn 3. Norwood your leader, he’ll begin to drive away from Hux, he’s already opened up about a 5 car length lead. Ridings has some breathing room behind him as he begins to slowly close in on Hux. Johnson keeps getting closer and closer to the turn 4 wall with each passing lap. 5 laps remain in this one, Norwood your leader. Checkers in the air, Norwood wins, Hux in 2nd, Ridings in 3rd and Johnson rounding out the field in 4th.

Street Stock
Bradly Lewelling and Arva Lee “Booger” Brooks will lead the field to the green, Lewelling is absolutely crawling around the speedway, in fact, he even slows down, then he nails the throttle, takes off from the field, track officials won’t have any of that, so we’ll try it again. Hopefully this time Lewelling will actually start. Cat and mouse being played again, this time the start is–okay, same thing. Unfortunately, Lewelling forgot how to start a race properly, so, track officials send Lewelling back a row, we’ll put Dave Smith on the point and we’ll try it with Smith and Brooks on the front row.

Green flag finally in the air! Start was perfect this time. Brooks and Smith still side by side for the lead, Brooks to the point off turn 2. Smith slows down the backstretch, he’ll fall to 4th. Brooks your leader here with 3 laps in the books, but Dale Watson is closing in, side by side off 2 for the lead. Lewelling in the 3rd spot, now caution flies here off turn 2 as Daniel Lawson goes around.

Green flag in the air one more time, Brooks still your leader here with 5 laps in the books, he’s got his work cut out for him though as Watson continues wear out his bumper. Now Brooks gets sideways in 4, Anthony Dixon pulls off the track in 4, he’s up in smoke. Watson still working inside Brooks for the lead, Lewelling closing in on the front duo, Watson with the lead and now Brooks powers inside in 1, gets way sideways, up on 3 wheels, now he’ll drop to 3rd. Watson leads at the halfway point, but now Brooks slows down the backstretch as Tim Kilby gets sideways off 4, he’ll give up the spot to Smith. Lewelling beginning to close in on the race leader ever so slightly, 13 laps complete. We saw Lawson working on his car in the infield a while ago, he’s pulled back out on the race track. Now Kilby pulls to a stop in the infield. The car was overheating, track officials learn his eyes were sprayed with very hot engine coolant, so EMTs are now working on flushing his eyes, but the driver is ok, and we’ll go green shortly.

Green flag back in the air, Watson picking up where he left off, Lewelling in 2nd, Ogle in the 3rd spot. Checkers in the air, Watson your winner, Lewelling in 2nd, Ogle comes home 3rd!

Modified Street / Super Truck
Ready to rock and roll for this feature, Cory Cate your leader into turn 1, Greg Estes in 2nd, Freddy Hillard in 3rd with Steve Hillard and Robbie Comer close behind. Tony Horton also following suit with Rocky Ogle hot on his heels, and Tom Huston and Mitchell Childress rounding out the field. Ogle gets sideways in 3, hangs onto his machine. Back up front, Cate showing the way over Estes, they’re about a half straightaway up on F. Hillard in 3rd. Cate still your leader, Estes in 2nd, F. Hillard and S. Hillard in 3rd and 4th with Comer rounding out your top 5. Now Horton takes a peek inside for the spot down into turn 1. Falls in line off 2. Cate and Estes setting a blistering pace now as F. Hillard seems to be holding up traffic off turn 2. Now S. Hillard gets sideways trying to turn under, Comer, Horton, Ogle all involved.

Green flag back in the air, Cate fires off turn 4, 11 laps in the books. Comer with a rear bumper cover dangling in the breeze now. Cate continuing to dominate, Estes in 2nd, F. Hillard still holding up traffic, as Horton looks for his way around on the outside, thinks better of it and falls in line. Now Comer looks inside Horton and they make contact, all is well. Now Horton looks outside, he’ll power past F. Hillard for 3rd as Ogle makes contact with F. Hillard. Comer follows Horton through and takes the 4th spot. Ogle powers inside on F. Hillard, takes the spot. Horton would love to see a caution but it won’t happen. Cate your winner, Estes in 2nd, and 3rd goes to Horton.

Mod-Mini
Michael Courtney and Chuck McMahan lead the field to the green flag, this one might be a barn burner! Green flag in the air! McMahan quickly looks inside for the race lead off turn 2, Courtney powers away off 4. Jason Carter in the 3rd spot, but now Nick Perry and Carter make contact, Carter gets turned into the outside wall, caution will fly with 1 lap on the board. Carter’s night appears to be done, Perry will continue on and we’ll go green shortly.

Green flag in the air! Courtney your leader, McMahan in 2nd, Perry in 3rd, Rocky McNabb in 4th and Brian Dinkins in 5th. McNabb closing in on Perry as he’s looking for running room. Now he’ll look inside in 1, falls back in line. Courtney driving away from McMahan, McMahan has been dominating most of the season here at 411, looks like he’s watching this one so far. McNabb finally makes the pass on Perry, give McNabb 3rd. Courtney now lapping the last 3 cars as Josh Ellis goes quickly around, his machine snapped around, caution will fly here on lap 9.

Green flag in the air one more time, still 11 laps remain in this one. Courtney picks up where he left off, McNabb now powers inside for the 2nd spot on McMahan! McMahan gets the run off 2, so McNabb will fall back in line. Courtney a half straightaway over McMahan already after just 2 laps, thoroughly dominating. Now McNabb looks inside off turn 2 on McMahan, falls in line off 4. Looks inside for a moment down the backstretch, falls in line into 3. Perry watching this fight, with James Mitchell behind him, Dinkins, and Taylor Dennis rounding out the field. McNabb tries one more time off 4, slides up in front of McMahan, now McMahan fights back on the inside. McNabb gets the run and snatches the 2nd spot now with 4 laps remaining. Courtney still tearing the field up tonight. Checkers in the air, Courtney with the win, McNabb in 2nd and 3rd goes to McMahan.

Mini-Stock
Anthony Singleton and Tommy Metler is your front row, ready to go! Green flag in the air! Singleton off with the jump into turn 1. Metler in 2nd, Sam Burgess and Jeff Thatcher side by side off 4 for 3rd. Dalton King closing in, he’s running the 5th spot. Now the hood flaps on the Singleton machine, we’ll have to watch to see if it’ll stay down. Now Burgess gets a piece of the turn 4 wall, gets on 2 wheels, lands back on 4 and keeps moving! Now Metler looking inside for the lead now as Singleton’s hood is essentially a parachute right now. Singleton your leader, Metler in 2nd, King in 3rd. Now Metler looking inside for the lead off 4, they’ll make contact in 1. 6 laps are shown on the board, now Singleton spins Metler off turn 4, no damage to his machine, he’ll spin around and we’ll line the field back up. Metler is deemed the caution car, so we’ll put him at the rear.

Green flag back in the air, Metler working on charging his way back up through the field. King now looks inside for the lead off turn 4. Thatcher in 3rd, now Burgess closing in as the leaders still battle side by side with 9 laps on the board. King takes sole possession of the lead here on lap 10, Singleton in 2nd, Thatcher hanging onto 3rd as Metler is storming back, Metler looks inside for 3rd off turn 2. Metler could use a caution to catch the field back up, now Thatcher has some smoke from his machine, with Burgess and David Singleton in tow. 15 laps on the board, King has opened a straightaway lead over 2nd place, now Metler powers into the 2nd spot. 4 laps to go, King your leader, Metler in 2nd, 3rd is Singleton. Checkers in the air, King with yet another win, Metler comes home 2nd and 3rd goes to A. Singleton.

Limited Late Model – A-Main
Ready to rock, 30 laps, 22 cars, $1,111 ON THE LINE! GREEN FLAG!! Greg Martin powers away with the lead, Bobby Giffin falls in line off 2. Adam Beeler in 3rd, Jason Welshan 4th, field stacks up slightly off 4, Greg Estes had an adventure in 3, he’s got his hands full with Josh Collins. Jason Trammell and Travis Fultz now working their way up through the field as Terry James slows in 3 on the inside, looking for a way into the infield, finds it, we stay green. Martin your leader, Welshan inside Giffin for the 2nd spot, Beeler goes around in front of the field, drivers taking evasive action, Fultz and Tony Schrimsher caught up but damage should be minimal!

Green flag back in the air with 26 laps remaining! Martin with a power jump off turn 4, but we quickly have debris in 4, so just like that, caution will fly.

Green flag in the air, still 26 laps remaining. Martin, Giffin, Welshan your top 3, and again Martin powers away with the lead off 4 but we have a mess in turn 3 as several cars got together on the start, looks like Greg Huskey gets heavy damage, Brian Courtney gets a piece of it, Marty Calloway also involved.

Green flag back in the air, Martin, Giffin, Welshan power out of 4. Martin again with the quick jump. Collins in the 4th spot with a mirror full of Josh Henry. Trammell gets sideways in 4, he’ll give up 2 spots, and in turn 1 and 2 he’ll give up 2 more. Martin your leader, Giffin in 2nd, Welshan in 3rd, Collins 4th, Henry 5th. Fultz leads a train behind him with Ryan King, Estes and Mark Rosner, now Clyde Stanton slows off turn 4, Courtney pulls in. Martin still your leader, Welshan in the 2nd spot with Collins on his inside, now Giffin breaks under caution and pulls off the track and stalls, as Estes spins in turn 4.

Green flag back in the air one more time, 10 laps in the books, 20 to go! Martin again with an impressive restart, but Welshan in the 2nd spot tries to run him down, has a bobble in 4, now Collins looks to jump on the spot. Now King slows and he’ll pull into the infield. Back up front, Martin showing the way, Welshan in 2nd, he’s opened up some advantage over Collins, Henry on his back door with Fultz closing in on him. Rosner and Trammell follow suit with Heath Alvey getting sideways in 4, Beeler on his toes. Back up front, Martin has about a straightaway lead now as Jesse Lowe gets sideways off 2, but caution #5 flies here on lap 17 as Alvey spins in 4.

Still 13 laps remaining, Martin, Welshan, Collins, Henry, Fultz is your top 5. GREEN FLAG! Martin wastes little time once again powering away with the lead, Welshan in 2nd with Collins in tow. Beeler looking inside Trammell for position, falls back in line. Now Beeler gets sideways in 4, Lowe gets involved, he’ll pull back out on the speedway, grab the caution, so we’ll line them back up and go green shortly.

GREEN FLAG! Martin powers into 1 with the lead, Welshan in 2nd, doesn’t seem like anybody has the handling like Martin does tonight. Collins in 3rd, Henry in 4th. Rosner closing in on Fultz for position. Henry now looking outside Collins for the spot, takes it away down the frontstretch! Henry now in the 3rd spot with 7 laps remaining. Martin your leader, Welshan in 2nd, now we see Lowe slow off 4 and he’ll pull into the infield. Now 5 laps remain. Martin on a rail tonight, making it look easy, now Henry goes up in smoke off turn 4, tries to feel his way out of the way, everyone successfully avoids, and caution flies with 5 to go.

Green flag in the air, 5 laps to settle it. Welshan powers inside on the start off turn 4, but it doesn’t help much. Martin your leader, Welshan 2nd, Collins 3rd, Fultz in 4th and Rosner 5th. White flag in the air, Collins lays on Welshan out of 4, Welshan returns the favor in 1, but now checkers fly, Martin with the win, Collins in 2nd, and now Welshan and Collins make contact after the race, they’re sharing their displeasure with one another in turn 4.
