RACE NIGHT RECAP

Crate Late Model



Green flag in the air, Pierce McCarter off with the early jump out of turn 4. Mark Rosner now in 3rd as 3 wide sends Ryan King into the infield, as well as Jake Teague and caution flies here early. King got pretty lucky in that one as 3 wide just wouldn’t work. Caution is out.

Side by side once again, green flag in the air. P. McCarter gets the jump in turn 4, but the green flag will be waved off as P. McCarter jumped the start.

Green flag in the air, we’ll try it one more time. Better start this time, they’ll remain side by side into 1. David Crabtree now in the 3rd spot with Teague moving into 4th as Crabtree gets a slight hook from Brad Coffey as Coffey reclaims 2nd. Now Mack McCarter moving up through the field, he makes contact with Teague, now Teague slows down the backstretch. Crabtree takes the 2nd spot now as caution flies here on lap 3 for Teague.

Green flag in the air, P. McCarter your leader heading into 1, but Crabtree looks inside for a moment, falls back in line down the backstretch. Slicing and dicing for about the 5th spot as Rosner and King race door to door. Mark Vineyard looking for some room now as 5 laps are in the books. Rosner almost gets a piece of the wall now as Vineyard goes around, now Brian Ownby looks to move around Rosner as well. P. McCarter still your leader, Crabtree 2nd, Coffey running 3rd. M. McCarter now back to the 5th spot as King moves up, now Vineyard looks for and moves around M. McCarter for 5th. Now 12 laps in the books. P. McCarter still our front, Crabtree 2nd. Coffey gets loose, looks like King is closing in on his bumper. Now King powers around for the 3rd spot, but Coffey hangs tough. Meanwhile, lap traffic coming into factor as the race leader is beginning to get a mirror full of Crabtree. Now caution will fly here on lap 17 as Coffey loses a driveshaft in 1. Tough break for Coffey, as he’ll relinquish the 3rd spot due to mechanical failure.

Green flag in the air one more time with 13 laps remaining. P. McCarter jumps out to about a 3 car length lead now as 19 laps are complete. Rosner makes slight contact with M. McCarter, hangs onto his machine, he rides 5th with a mirror full of Ownby, now as Trevor Sise makes his way around. P. McCarter still out front, Crabtree 2nd, Vineyard now in 3rd. 23 laps in the books. P. McCarter on a tear, picked up a win last night at Tri-County Racetrack. Now 5 laps away from victory here. P. McCarter now has some more lap traffic, as the white flag flies. Checkers in the air, P. McCarter with the win, Crabtree 2nd, and Vineyard comes home 3rd.

Some rain drops falling here, but we’ll go green flag for the Classic! Adam Engel gets the jump out of the gate and leads the field down into 1. Jay Eubanks in 2nd now, Drew Kennedy in 3rd with Marvin Ray in 4th. Eubanks gives a nudge to Engel into 3 now with 2 laps in the books. These drivers seem to be doing ok so far despite the raindrops, as Engel continues to show the way here with half of this race complete, 5 down 5 to go. Ray now into the 3rd spot as Kennedy seems to have some kind of motor issue. Eubanks closing the gap up with the race leader now with 2 laps remaining. Checkers in the air, Engel with the win, Eubanks in 2nd, and Ray comes home 3rd.
