Pierce McCarter gets second W; Marvin Ray gets first

Another (half) Saturday night is in the books. Unfortunately for 4 divisions, the night was cut short. Those drivers will vie for extra money on Saturday night! Congrats to the winners who did get to race, Cody Courtney in Mini-Late Model, Pierce McCarter in Crate Late Model, Marvin Ray in Classic (first of the season), Mike Lewis in Topless Modified, and last but not least, Bradly Lewelling in Street Stock.


Crate Late Model
Green flag in the air for the Crates, Jason Cardwell and David Crabtree your front row into 1. Brian Courtney around in a chain reaction bumper-car incident in 2, we’ll have a complete restart coming up.

Green flag in the air one more time. Cardwell off with the lead as now caution flies again as Crabtree goes around in 4.

Green flag in the air one more time. Cardwell off with the lead into turn 3. Cardwell well in control as he’s pulling away from Crabtree now with 2 laps in. P. McCarter closing in on Crabtree for 2nd. Ryan King beginning to close in on P. McCarter now for the 3rd spot as they complete lap 5. Pretty much single file at this point in the race. But now P. McCarter pulls inside for the 2nd spot, give P. McCarter 2nd. Now King leans on Crabtree trying to follow through, falls back in line. Rosner now closing in on King for a moment here as now 8 laps are complete. Now P. McCarter looks for the race lead and takes it here at the completion of lap 9. Cardwell trying to hang on and close back in now as 10 laps are in. Brad Coffey now looking inside of Courtney as they close in on Mack McCarter. Now Jimmy Calloway closes in to make it a 4-way duel for the 6th spot. Give 6th to Courtney now as Coffey follows suit around M. McCarter. Now Calloway looking inside M. McCarter for position now as 13 laps are complete. Now Coffey inside Courtney one more time for position but falls in line off 2. Now M. McCarter slows and pulls into the infield off 2. Back up front, P. McCarter running into some lapped traffic. King makes his way around Cardwell, now Mark Rosner follows suit. Give Rosner the 4th spot now with 18 laps in the books. P. McCarter out to a 2 turn lead over Crabtree. Calloway looks inside Coffey as the leader is just behind now as Cardwell pulls into the infield. Now 9 laps remain. P. McCarter makes contact as Calloway pinches the leader down low. Now P. McCarter puts a lap on Coffey as they complete lap 22. P. McCarter now out to a comfortable lead with 5 laps remaining. P. McCarter on a tear, fresh off a win at Bulls Gap last night, picking up where he left off last night as the checkers fly. P. McCarter your winner, 2nd goes to Crabtree, and 3rd will go to Rosner as King jacks him up down the backstretch on the final lap.

Classic
Adam Engel off with the race lead here, it’ll be a 10 lap race. Engel leads over Marvin Ray, Phil Blackford, and Charles Tharp. Now Ray looks inside heading into 3 on lap 1, they’ll be side by side for the lead. Now Ray with the lead, Blackford now in the 2nd spot, Engel in 3rd now. Engel fights back on the inside for 2nd now as they complete lap 4. Engel back into the 2nd spot and he’ll chase down Ray as caution flies here on lap 5 as Tharp goes around
Green flag in the air one more time. Now Blackford gets sideways as Tharp makes hard contact. We’ll stay green. Now Engel looks for the race lead here with 3 laps remaining. White flag in the air, Engel trying to close in to make a run for the win, makes one last ditch effort, but has to fall in line off 4. Ray with the win, Engel in 2nd, and Tharp comes home 3rd.

Topless Modified
Green flag in the air, Dave Lewis with the lead off 2 as Keith Gregory pulls into 2nd, now give the lead to Gregory off turn 4. David Day now looks inside Dave for the 2nd spot, falls back in line. Now Day leans on D. Lewis a little as M. Lewis closes in on Day. Now caution flies here on lap 6 as D. Lewis stalls down the backstretch.

Green flag one more time, now Mike Lewis takes the here on lap 7. M. Lewis takes the win over Day and Gregory.

Street Stock
Green flag in the air for the Street Stock. Already at the start, McLemore tries to make it 3-wide before the flagstand, Dylan Lowe makes slight contact with Bradly Lewelling, McLemore ran up the left-rear, sending Lowe’s machine hard into the tire on the frontstretch. His night will be done. McLemore will continue on for a couple laps before pulling off. Lewelling with the win over Dale Watson and Brad Mills who came from the 8th starting spot to finish up 3rd!
