RACE NIGHT RECAP

Mod-Mini
The front row was Chuck McMahan and Josh Ellis for the first feature of the night. McMahan wasted no time taking the race lead. Ellis would run 2nd until lap 11 when he would pull off the speedway. McMahan cruised to the win with Nick Keeley coming home 2nd and Taylor Dennis rounding out the field.

Classic
In Classics, it was a slobber-knocker for the first start. Logan Dukes got the worst end of the stick when he was a human pinball down the frontstretch, suffering several hard hits and drivers couldn’t whoa up in time. Drew Kennedy got off with the early lead over Robbie Sands, but "The Rocket" powered his way into the race lead on lap 4, cruising to victory over Drew Kennedy and Bart Baxter.

Topless Modified
In Topless, sparks flew in the early laps after Mike Lewis and Jerry Hux led the field to the green. Keith Gregory would run in the 3rd spot until David Day would make contact with Gregory, ending Gregory’s night early on lap 3. Day would then try to chase down the top 2. Doug Clifton, driving the #23 made famous by his son Layne, would move into the 3rd spot on lap 13, only to surrender it in a spin on lap 14. Johnny Ridings made his way around Day for 3rd, briefly gave it up on laps 17 and 18, and reclaimed the spot on the last lap. Lewis with the win, Hux comes home 2nd and 3rd goes to Ridings.

Street Stock
Needless to say, this was one of the craziest nights for Street Stock…..EVER. Jeff McLemore and Dale Watson was your front row..and, well lets just fast forward 10 minutes and 9 restarts and get to the last 5 minutes or 10 laps of this feature why don’t we??? McLemore took the early lead, when we finally got going, and led the field until Dale Watson claimed the lead on lap 2. He’d have a mirror full of McLemore though, with Wayne Miley and Bradly Lewelling in tow. By lap 2, Lewelling moved into the 2nd spot and for the next 7 laps would stalk McLemore, finally getting the 2nd spot on lap 9 but it was too little, waaayyyyyy too late, as Watson claims the win, Lewelling in 2nd, and McLemore in 3rd.

Modified Street / Super Truck
With the addition of the Modified Street class into the Super Truck class, it generated alot of good, close racing. Robbie Comer, who had won 11 features in a row previously, had to start dead last. But did that stop him? Did you really think it would? Comer quickly moved into the 3rd spot by the completion of the first lap, and on the next lap, stole the lead away from Marty Goodman. Goodman would drive his heart out for the remaining 18 circuits but when the dust settled, Comer had already pulled into victory lane, with his 12th win in a row! Goodman comes home 2nd with Freddy Hillard finishing up in 3rd.

Crate Late Model – A-Main
Next up were the Crate Late Models, and David Crabtree was the Fast Time Qualifier in this one, mind you, ON HIS BIRTHDAY! He would lead the field over Adam Beeler and Pierce McCarter through the first 9 laps, when Ryan King would sneak into the 3rd spot on lap 10. King would then advance into the 2nd spot, what the birthday boy didn’t want to see, and finally drove into the race lead on lap 14 following a caution. Ryan King then drove away through a couple of restarts to claim the win over Crabtree, with Beeler coming home 3rd.

Mini-Stock
Shawn Henry and Dalton King were your front row for this feature, but Henry would take the race lead from the getgo and never look back. Dalton King came home 2nd with Brandon Johnson in 3rd. King would lodge a protest agains Henry, but Henry refused to tear down. King takes the win, Johnson comes home 2nd, and 3rd is now the points leader Tommy Metler.

Steel Head Late Model – A-Main
And finally for the night was the Steel Head Late Model division, and again, David Crabtree set fast time, with Rusty Ballenger lining up on the inside of the front row. Ballenger proved the inside was were it was at, as he would power away with the race lead early. However, Ballenger never got far away, as Crabtree kept closing and kept challenging for the lead. Jason Cardwell would finally snatch the race lead on lap 10, allbeit for a moment, until the caution was thrown. Ballenger would have a mirror chocked full of Cardwell for the next 10 laps, until Crabtree moved back into the 2nd spot on lap 21. Crabtree would attempt to chase down the leader, but at the end of 30, it was Ballenger with the win, Brad Lowe comes home 2nd after passing Crabtree on the final lap, where "Crabdaddy" had to settle for the 3rd spot. This was by-far a minimal story, and this feature was by-FAR the BEST race of the season so far at 411 Motor Speedway!

Mini-Late Model
In Mini-Late Model action, it was Kyle Courtney spoiling the birthday party for Dylan Styles, and Styles had to settle for 2nd behind winner Courtney.
