RACE NIGHT RECAP

Mod-Mini
Green flag out on the Mod-Minis, and Nick “Porto” Perry and Cory Cate lead them into turn 1. Cate and Perry drag race down the backstretch, Cate goes a little high off turn 4, give the lead to Cate. “Bad” Brad Pressley now in the 3rd spot, setting his sights on the lead, but he’ll spin out in turn 3 to bring out the caution here on lap 1.

Green flag back in the air, and Cate will lead them down into turn 1. Pressley pulled into the pit area, he’s lined up last. Meanwhile, battle for the lead, “Porto” Perry on the inside of Cate, but Cate will keep the lead. Points leader Tommy Metler has pulled away from Pressley, as he’s trying to run down the top 2. Perry now on the inside of Cate on the backstretch on lap 4, he’ll wash up, now Cate powers inside in turn 1, but now Perry will begin to pull away. Perry washed up into Cate slightly, which pushed Cate up a little bit, and wrestled the lead away. We’re halfway complete with this one, Perry still hanging onto the lead, with Cate in 2nd and Metler in 3rd. Now Perry is having some issues here on lap 11, he’ll wash up into the loose stuff, about hitting the wall off turn 2, he’ll let Cate gain some ground, but he’ll try to hang on. Perry is definitely fighting an ill handling race car at this point, as he’s going from tight to loose. Metler has slowed up a little bit, as Pressley has pulled off. Checkers out, Perry claims the win, Cate 2nd and Metler 3rd.

Topless Modifieds
Green flag out on the Topless Modifieds, and we have a notable missing driver. Keith Gregory lost a motor last week, and had another motor being put together, but, bent a valve earlier in the night, so Gregory will lose a lot of points tonight. Layne Clifton quickly takes over the lead, and he’ll drive away. Points leader Josh Driskill gets into Ronnie King and Driskill spins in turn 4, collecting Marvin Romines, Wayne James, Jeff Akard, and Kyle Cole hits the wall to avoid, and we’re under caution here on lap 1.

Green flag back in the air, Clifton quickly takes off with the lead again, Tyler James in 2nd, but here comes Romines. Romines has some heavy damage on the right side from the first lap incident. Caution flies again here on lap 3, as Tyler James spins.

Green flag back in the air, and Clifton picks up where he left off. 3 laps remain in this one, and Clifton has almost caught up with the 3rd place car of Driskill, AND NOW TROUBLE! Clifton has lost a driveshaft, and he’s left a trail of gear oil down into turn 1, and what a tough break for Clifton.

Green flag back in the air, now it’s going to be a green/white/checkered dog fight. Romines the leader, Driskill powers down the backstretch, he’ll get to the bumper of Romines off turn 4, white flag in the air. Driskill down low off turn 2, he’ll fall in line. He’ll go high in turn 3 and have to watch this one go away, as Marvin Romines picks up his 2nd win this year!

Super Trucks
Green flag in the air for the Super Trucks. Clyde Stanton quickly takes over the lead, and Robbie Comer in the 2nd spot, but the battle is on for 3rd. Ogle is all over Freddy Hillard. Ogle would finally get around Freddy Hillard late in the feature, otherwise, they stayed single file. Checkers in the air, Clyde Stanton wins, 2nd place is Robbie Comer.

Street Stocks
Green flag in the air for the Street Stocks. Brad Mills and current points leader Raymond Shepard side by side, they’ll make another lap side-by-side. Andy Diggs is digging, he’s all over Mills for the lead, with Phil Davis now in 3rd and Shepard in 4th. Mills still your leader, and now Davis looking inside for 2nd, as Jason Ogle is beginning to creep his way up, but we have a battle for the lead. Diggs on the inside off turn 2, he’ll keep it down low in turn 3, he’ll look inside again but he’ll fall in line off turn 2 on lap 5. Davis gives a shove to Diggs, Diggs and Mills side by side, they’ll touch, and Brad Mills didn’t care for the rubbing, and he’ll drive into the left-door of Andy Diggs, and Mills will slam Diggs into the frontstretch wall and caution will be out here on lap 6.

Green flag back out, and Brad Mills doesn’t get going, and Davis now takes over the lead. Jason Ogle now looking on the inside, as Brad Mills spins out in turn 3, but we’ll stay green. Davis has recovered from an off road excursion when Mills and Diggs tangled. Mills targeted Diggs, and forced Davis into the infield.

Green flag back in the air with only 6 laps left. Davis now taking off with the lead, but the battle is on for 2nd. Shepard has it, Jason Ogle wants it. He powers inside in turn 1, and but off turn 4, Shepard will pull off with the lead. Now Jason Ogle gets sideways with only 3 laps to go, he’ll give up the 3rd spot to Charlie Bates, and now the checkers are in the air, Phil Davis wins, Raymond Shepard 2nd, and 3rd will be Charlie Bates.

Classics
Green flag is in the air for the classics and Andy Ogle takes off. Marvin Ray is looking for the lead but falls back in line as they go to turn 3. Bart Baxter is pulling inside for 2nd on lap 4. Ogle still has the lead as Ray and Baxter continue battling for 2nd. Baxter pulls ahead as they complete lap 8 but Ray is still trying to hang on. Ray reclaims 2nd on lap 10. Baxter has taken to the inside and it seems to be working as he has the lead as we finish lap 13. Andy Ogle still in the lead here with only 4 laps left. Bart Baxter has finally gotten around Marvin Ray for the 2nd spot. Checkers in the air, Andy Ogle with the win, 2nd goes to Bart Baxter, and 3rd place goes to Marvin Ray, and rounding out the field is Phil Blackford.

Late Models
We have a field of 14 late models right now, set to take the green flag. Jason Cardwell and Josh “The Jet” Henry lead the field to the green, and all of late model drivers are using both the gas and the brake to stay nose-to-tail with each other anticipating the start, and they’ll ROAR down into turn 1! Henry and Cardwell stay side by side, and off turn 4, Cardwell and points leader Josh Collins both pull around Henry for the lead. Ryan King now in the 4th spot with David Miley in 5th. Justin Summers pulls inside Clyde Stanton for position, he’ll watch Stanton get loose, and he’ll give him room and Summers has to give up the spot. Meanwhile, Cardwell still leading, Collins in 2nd, and now Henry getting a run on Collins, while King is closing in on them as we already have 5 laps in the books. Cardwell catches Luke Fox, put Fox a lap down, as the battle still rages for 3rd. Josh Yoder almost spins. Mack McCarter and Rusty Ballenger battle it out, they’re less than a straightaway from being lapped by Cardwell, as Collins follows, waiting for a mistake. King gets inside of Henry, but Henry gets around, as now Collins has caught Cardwell as they have lapped Fox again, as we complete lap 12. Cardwell loses the lead, and he’ll suddenly slow in turn 1, and Ryan King has a huge run, and gets into Cardwell and spins, and caution flies here on lap 12. That was a long green flag run for these guys, a lot talent among these guys tonight, that‘s for sure.

During the caution, the field would make 3-4 extra laps under caution as Henry and King disagreed with where they lined up. Henry was finally given the 2nd spot. King was given his spot back as the caution was thrown for Cardwell, and King couldn’t avoid spinning as he had no idea Cardwell was broke.

Green flag back in the air, Collins your leader, Henry in 2nd, now King blows by him in turn 3, and Miley drifts up into the loose stuff in turn 3 and 4, while Collins leads, Ryan King catching up, as Miley pulls into the infield as we complete lap 15. Rusty Ballenger now pulls into the infield, as caution flies here on lap 17 for debris. Ryan King was challenging for the lead off turn 2 as the caution flew.

Green flag back in the air with 13 laps remaining. Collins takes off with the lead, but Ryan King wants it. He’ll stay glued to the rear bumper of Collins, he’ll pull inside off turn 4, he’ll drag race off turn 2, but he’ll fall in line, now off turn 4, he’ll pull inside again, but Collins moves up the track and his famous line is coming to him it seems. Ryan King trying everything he can with just 10 laps remaining. They’re still side by side. King and Collins, the rookie versus the veteran, King takes over the lead here with 8 laps remaining. Collins not giving up, he’ll look inside for the lead, as they click off another lap. Collins trying everything he can to get the lead back, and now King is pulling away. 6 laps remain, is this the night the young Ryan King picks up his first win? Caution will fly here with only 5 laps to go, as either the motor has let go on Josh Henry’s machine, or an oil line has came off. Now Yoder showing smoke under caution.

5 laps to go, this is going to be a doozey folks! GREEN FLAG! King takes off with the lead, now Collins looks inside, but Ryan King rockets off turn 2, and he’ll try to drive away. Brian Ownby running Collins down, King still leading as Yoder smokes and slows, he’ll pull off. White flag in the air, Ryan King your leader, only 1 more lap for him. Collins in 2nd, and Ownby in 3rd. Checkers in the air, give this win to Ryan King, his first-ever late model victory! 2nd place is Josh Collins, and 3rd is Brian Ownby.

Pure Mini
Green flag out for the Pure-Minis, we have 9 cars here, this is sure to be a barn burner, or a barn crasher, we’re just not sure yet! Green flag in the air! Anthony Singleton off with the lead in turn 1, but Alex Squires wants it, Singleton will get in the loose stuff down low, and almost nails Squires, but here comes Jackson Griffith, he’ll look for the lead, but caution will fly here on lap 1 as the #77-Billy Sands spins in turn 2.

Green flag back in the air, Singleton inside Squires for the lead once again, with Griffith looking for these 2 to make him room, he’ll get loose in turn 4, but if anything, that’s sped him up. Singleton now pulling away from Squires, as Squires loses a tire in turn 2, and will hit the wall and caution will fly here on lap 4.

Green flag back in the air. Singleton still your leader, Griffith finds himself in the 2nd spot at the expense of Squires, but caution will fly here on lap 7 for debris on the backstretch. Green flag back in the air, Griffith all over Singleton for the lead, but he’ll quickly start losing touch, as it appears his trunk lid is loose, and now here on lap 9, caution will fly once again as the trunk flies off in turn 4.

Green flag back in the air once again, with 11 laps remaining. Griffith times it just right, but off turn 2 he’ll fall in line. But he’ll try to mount a charge off turn 4, he’ll now try inside off turn 2 here on lap 10, but Singleton will keep it. Griffith gets loose off turn 4, and he’ll lose some ground, as he’ll try to run him back down. Griffith now takes a look at the lead, as time has expired, and white flag will fly here on lap 14. Griffith and Singleton will split the lapped car, Griffith runs all through Singleton in turn 3, they’ll both crash in turn 4, and James Mitchell will squeak by to claim his first-ever feature win! What a finish!
