RACE NIGHT RECAP

Mod-Mini
Green flag is in the air on the Mod-Mini field! #2-Terry Poore off with the early lead. #13-Chris Kelly looking to make a run for 2nd on #92-Cory Cate, but here comes Cate off turn 4 but Poore slams the door. Kelly to the inside of Cate off turn 4 but nothing going. #01-Rocky McNabb now looks to make a run, but will spin off turn 4 and caution will be out here on lap 2.

Poore off with the lead again, Cate in tow. 5 laps in the books, Poore still in command. Cate in 2nd, but the action is behind them. McNabb looking for room, but back up front, Kelly all over the back of Cate. Cate not letting Poore get away yet, but he’ll lose touch as they sail into 2 with 6 laps remaining. McNabb now up to 4th after his spin. The breather on the Cory Cate machine has came loose, so that may be affecting the power on his machine. Poore still in command here. McNabb to the high side of Kelly, but Kelly will run McNabb in the wall and end McNabb’s high-side challenge for the 3rd spot as the checkers fall on the field.

Topless Modifieds
Green flag in the air! #57-Marvin Romines takes to the lead, #23-Layne Clifton now powers to the inside of #D00-Josh Driskill here on lap 1, he’ll take 2nd and spin in turn 4 here on lap 1 and caution will fly.

Green flag, Romines to the lead, Driskill and #22-Michael Millsap will battle for 2nd though. Clifton looking for room around #3-Coty King, nothing doing yet, as he’ll almost spin again in turn 3, as he’ll try to make his way around Clifton. Clifton still looking for a way around, and he’ll finally take the spot here on lap 5. Back up front, Romines still showing the way, by about 3 car lengths over Driskill. Millsap is about 5 cars behind him. Lap 8 completed, Driskill still trying to find his way around Romines, as he’s now a couple car lengths behind, and he’ll close the gap up down the backstretch. Here comes Driskill, off turn 4 and down into turn 1, he’ll dive inside, but the handle goes away, and he’ll drop to about 8 car lengths behind Romines as we complete 11 laps. Clifton now looking for a way around #420-Tyler James here on lap 13. James will slam the door off 2 though. Driskill has closed the gap on the lead with 6 laps remaining. Now here comes Driskill, he’ll look inside for the lead, but Romines shuts the door. Same thing in turn 3, as James pulls off the track. 4 laps remain, Driskill has caught Romines again, he’ll pull inside down the backstretch, Romines holds his line, and Driskill just can‘t get the grip down low to make the pass, 2 laps to go! Driskill pulls inside again, still nothing doing as the white flag is in the air. Driskill trying everything to get around Romines, but off turn 4, Marvin Romines will hold off Josh Driskill for the win, and will pick up his first feature win this season!

Street Stocks
Only 3 street stocks made it out tonight, with all the carnage that went down Saturday, it’s no wonder. Definitely a rough night for many.

Green flag in the air on the street stockers! #88-Josh Rudd is making his first start in Street Stocks tonight. But #70-Phil Davis will pull away in this one. Caution will fly here on lap 4 with debris in turn 2.

Green flag back in the air! Davis pulls out to the lead, Rudd trying everything he can to catch Davis, but there’s not much he can do. And the checkered flag is in the air, Phil Davis picks up the win, Josh Rudd 2nd, and rounding out the field is #9, J.D. Baker

Late Models
40 laps for the late models, and this is sure to be a dandy of a race! GREEN FLAG!! #24-Greg Martin POWERS to the outside of #1-Brad Lowe and into the lead, #00-Brian Ownby spins in turn 2, collecting #25-Scott Gardner and caution will fly, which will make it a complete restart.

Let’s try this again, GREEN FLAG! Lowe powers to the lead, but Martin looking for the lead, he’ll pull inside but nothing doing as they scream into turn 1. A lot of action in the back of the field though, as #00-Ruben Mayfield will lose a tire and slow to a stop in turn 4 here on lap 1.

Green flag! Lowe quickly to the lead, but Martin wants to challenge, but the #24 will fall back in line. Martin will again look to the inside off turn 2 here on lap 2, but he’ll fall in line again. #74-Clyde Stanton is 3 wide in the back of the field for position, but here comes Martin to the lead, he’ll power into the lead off turn 4 here on lap 3. And here comes last week’s 2nd feature winner #63-Josh Collins to the inside of Ownby but nothing doing. Martin gets a little high through turns 1 and 2, as Manley slows in turns 1 and 2 and pulls off, we stay green. Martin in the lead by 2 cars as the leaders battle lap traffic, Gardner makes the move on #2x-Anthony White and sets his sights on #5-Jeff Hamby. But here comes White back to the inside of Gardner, but Gardner will power away. Martin still in command, as Lowe battles lapped traffic now, that’ll allow Ownby to close up, and here comes Collins, he’ll look to take over position, but nothing doing as caution flies here on lap 11 as #30-Ryan King spins in turn 2.

Green flag is back out, with 29 laps to go! Martin powers into the lead and pulls Lowe by about 4 car lengths, as Gardner blows the doors off Hamby and sets his sights on Collins. Stanton has moved into the top 10 from the B-Main, as White now battles Hamby for position, and White takes over the spot. Martin still in the lead, Lowe 2nd, Ownby 3rd, Collins 4th and Gardner 5th. 15 laps complete. Guys jockeying for position all over the track, as Martin continues to lead the way. #89-Brad Coffey looking for a way around Hamby, he’ll fall in line here on lap 17. Martin has pulled away from Lowe, as Ownby almost spins in turn 2 and will drop to 5th.  #B00-Josh Henry slows to a stop on the backstretch and the caution will fly here on lap 19.

GREEN FLAG! 21 laps remain! Martin fires into the lead, with Lowe in tow. Lowe will push high off turn 2, Gardner powers to the high side of Collins, and he’ll look for 3rd, as King spins again off turn 4 here on lap 21. Clyde Stanton is putting on a show tonight, up to 7th spot after winning the B-Main and transferring to the A-Main!

GREEN FLAG back in the air again on this late model field! Martin fires but Lowe isn’t losing touch this time, he’ll chase Martin for the lead. Gardner still in 3rd, with 23 laps in the books. Ownby gets loose in 4, opening the door for White, but White won’t be able to pounce here on lap 25. Martin still in command, Lowe in 2nd, Gardner in 3rd. Stanton powers to the inside and makes contact with White, cutting a tire down on Stanton’s machine and Stanton will pull off with a flat right front. Unfortunate break for our hard charger!

Green flag back in the air, 26 laps down, 14 remain! Martin fires and will drive away, as Gardner POWERS to the inside of Lowe, but he’ll fall back in line in 3rd off turn 2. Hamby on the inside of Coffey down the backstretch, as #17-Mark Rosner pulls around White, and now Coffey makes contact with Hamby, and Hamby runs up into Ballenger, and Ballenger and Hamby will get the short ends of the stick as Hamby makes moderate contact with the opening of the pit wall, and he’ll bounce back off the tire and hit Ballenger, and both cars will be leaving the track on the hook.

After lengthy cleanup at the pit entrance, we are going GREEN FLAG!! Martin powers to the lead, Lowe still in tow, Collins challenging Gardner, but nothing doing as we have 9 laps to go. Martin pulling away from Lowe, and Gardner is again under fire from Collins. 7 laps to go, Lowe running down Martin as they come off turn 4, 6 to go. Gardner is trying all he can, but he’s only a spectator at this point. Martin still well in control, he’ll bobble off 2, but here comes Lowe, he’ll pull to the inside going into 3, nothing doing. 4 to go! Lowe all over the back of Martin, but nothing doing yet, 3 laps to go. Gardner and Collins are only watching the lead battle, but it’s not quite a battle yet. White flag in the air, Lowe trying to find any kind of extra grip he can to mount a last-ditch effort for the win, but off turn 4, Greg Martin will take the win, Brad Lowe in 2nd and 3rd will be Scott Gardner.
