Official Results & Recap: May 22nd, 2010

Green flag back out under threatening skies! Ladd pulls back out with the lead, now McNabb looks to try to challenge Courtney for 4th, but nothing doing yet. Caution flies here with 3 laps to go for debris in turn 2.

Green flag is back out on the Mod-Mini Shoot-out! Ladd powers back out front, but here comes Courtney, he’ll look to again challenge Poore for 2nd! White flag is out, Ladd in command, Poore in 2nd, but here comes Courtney, he’ll look to the inside of Poore, but the whole field will crash through 3 and 4, and off 4 when a sudden downpour in turns 3 and 4 soaks the track and the drivers try to make it around to cross the line, and folks, I can’t put into words how this race finished, but everyone slid from turn 4 to the checkered flag, and we’re in another rain delay.

Mod-Mini (5/22)
Green flag is out on the Mod-Minis. #C11-Michael Courtney off with the lead. #01-Rocky McNabb moves into 2nd. #2-Terry Poore is 3rd. Poore is now putting the pressure on McNabb. Caution on lap 3 here as Cory Cate spins in turn 4.

Green flag back out! McNabb trying to keep up with Courtney. Courtney out front and pulling away slightly. Poore 3rd as caution flies for the #93-Tony Stanton spins in turn 4 here on lap 5.

Green flag is back out, Courtney pulls back out with the lead, but here comes #13-Chris Kelly, Kelly now takes over the 3rd spot, but Poore is trying to fight back as the #2-Tim Miller spins in turn 1 here on lap 6, and the #20-Jackie Vinson spins also.

Green flag back out! Courtney off with the lead again, McNabb 2nd, Kelly 3rd but under heavy pressure from Poore. Caution flies again here on lap 9 as the #20 of Vinson and #11 of Tim Michael make contact and Vinson gets the short end and is against the backstretch wall.

Green flag, we have 11 laps remaining! Courtney back out to the lead, McNabb in 2nd but facing heavy pressure from behind, but going into turn 1, Courtney will lose a motor and the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place will all go sliding everywhere in the slick oil, and Terry Poore hits the wall a bit and will drive off with a flat tire. All cars will drive off, several will have some damage. Poore will pull in the pits and change the tire and rejoin the field at the rear.

Green flag! Mike Lewis off with the lead again, as Clifton challenges for the 2nd spot now. #3-Ronnie King works on Gregory now for the 4th spot. And give Ronnie King the 4th spot, but Gregory looks to the inside as they go into turn 3 on lap 4. Clifton still looking for a way around Millsap, as Gregory goes a little high in 3 and 4 and will drop to the 7th spot. Caution finally flies as the #420 of Tyler James spins in turn 2 here on lap 9.

Green flag is back out on the field. Mike Lewis jumps to the lead again, as Driskill has found himself in the 4th spot now, but he’s under pressure from Gregory. Millsap takes a look for the race lead, as he’s now to the passenger door of Lewis, but nothing doing. Gregory now looking to the inside of Ronnie King, but loses momentum off turn 2. 14 laps in the books, Gregory now on the inside of Ronnie King, Lewis in the lead, Millsap 2nd, and 3rd is Driskill. Ronnie King and Gregory are battling for the 4th and 5th position, and give that spot to Gregory on lap 15. Lewis racing in lapped traffic now, and he’ll make little work of the backmarkers, as Millsap will start to feel some heat from Driskill. Nothing doing though, as the white flag flies. Driskill powers to the inside, he’ll look to take over the 2nd spot, but nothing doing off 4 as Lewis takes the checkers in feature #1!

Topless Modifieds #2 (5/22)
Green flag is out on the Topless Mods! #D00-Driskill off with the early lead but say goodbye to the #15-Dave Lewis, as he’ll blast past Driskill for the lead. #23-Layne Clifton moves up to 3rd and 4th is #12-Craig Gregg. Meanwhile, toward the back, the action is intense, as everyone’s trying to find their way around their competitors. Back up front, 4 laps in the books, and here comes Driskill, he’ll challenge Lewis for the lead off 4, as caution flies in turn 2 as the #57 of Marvin Romines spins.

Green flag is out! Driskill quickly powers to the inside of Lewis, but nothing doing as Lewis powers to the outside and back into the lead. Driskill in 2nd, Clifton in 3rd. Caution will fly here on lap 6 as the #27-Nick Jones slows to a stop in 2 as Driskill powered to the inside of Lewis.

Green flag in the air, 13 laps remain! Driskill looks to the inside of Lewis, but that’s all he’ll get for now, as they come off turn 4 he’ll look to the inside again, as he tries to string together a few good laps, as the #57 of Romines slows to a stop on the frontstretch, as the #23 of Clifton spins on entry to turn 1 as he locks the brakes down for the caution.

Green flag back out, 12 laps remain! Driskill back into the inside, but this time takes over the top spot off turn 2! Lewis now feeling pressure from Clifton, as the action heats up behind them. #3-Ronnie King and #44k-Chase King battle for position, and Millsap looking for room around #12-Craig Gregg, as Driskill pulls away, but we’ll be under caution yet again as the #420 of Tyler James will spin in turn 2 here on lap 10.

Green flag is back out, and we’ll try this one more time with 10 laps to go! Driskill pulls away with the lead again, but the #44k of King will slow off turn 2 on lap 11 and we’re under caution.

Green flag is out, and this race will be green/white/checkers as time has expired! Driskill powers on the start, Millsap makes contact with the #23 of Clifton and sends Clifton into the backstretch wall. Ronnie King will make contact and be sent up the track, and #44-Keith Gregory turns left and will now find himself in 3rd as caution will fly.

Still green/white/checkers, will it be tame or will it be intense?! GREEN FLAG! Driskill takes off with the lead again, as Lewis will go high, Gregory to the inside, but nothing doing off 2. King in 4th. Checkers in the air, Josh Driskill wins, Dave Lewis finishes 2nd, and 3rd is Keith Gregory!

Gregory will protest #15 of Dave Lewis, and Lewis will refuse to tear down, so Lewis will be disqualified.

Super Trucks #1 (5/15)
Green flag is out on the field for their first feature! #74-Freddy Hillard takes over the lead on the start, as #77-Chris Shepherd spins in turn 2, we stay green though. #42-Robbie Comer battling Hillard as we complete lap 4. Comer and Hillard still side-by-side, and contact is made, but rubbin’s racin’! Hillard makes a mistake and goes too high in 3 and 4 and gets in the loose stuff, but Hillard will pull to the inside and slam into Comer through 1 and 2, and will try to run away from the #42 as we complete lap 7 as the caution will fly for debris. Comer pulls off the track for an unknown reason, and will rejoin the field at the tail.

Green flag is back out. #14-Robert Martin now finds himself in 2nd spot, with Steve Hillard in 3rd now. Comer now powers back to the 3rd spot, as he’ll try to run down the leader. Comer charges hard and will now look for the 2nd spot. Comer on the tailgate of Robert Martin, and he’ll charge inside, and make little work of Martin, as he’ll almost get taken out as Robert Martin gets loose and about spins off turn 2, but is Comer too far behind Hillard to make a run? Caution is out here with 5 laps as Freddy Hillard will blow a motor, and Comer will inherit the lead.

Green flag is back out. Martin to the inside of Comer, but nothing doing, as Comer will pull away with this one.

Green flag! Mills chasing Shepard, as #70-Phil Davis spins in turn 1 and Rudd tries to get by on the high side, but can’t and heavy contact is made. The #88 of Larry Rudd and Davis exit the track on the hook.

Green flag back out! Shepard to the lead again, Mills in 2nd, and #3-Jimmy Miller in 3rd. #49-Jason Ogle 4th. Mills putting the head on Shepard, but nothing doing yet as we complete lap 4. Mills powers to the inside of Shepard, as they’ll battle tooth and nail, but Mills takes over the top spot on lap 7! Ogle now in 3rd but he blows a right-rear tire in turn 2 and Miller is not paying attention and SLAMS through the back end of Ogle, doing HEAVY damage to both cars!

Green flag back out, Mills to the lead, Shepard looking for room, white flag is out. Miller spins in turn 1, but Mills will come off turn 4 and take the win over Shepard, and those 3 cars were the final cars left!

Street Stocks #2 (5/22)
Green flag is in the air! #70-Phil Davis tries to jump out to the lead, but #49-Jason Ogle doesn’t want to give it up, but he will as they come off turn 4. Mills now 3rd, and Miller 4th. Davis starts to pull away, as #75-Brad Mills starts putting the pressure on Ogle, as caution flies here on lap 3 as #88-Larry Rudd loses his front bumper in turn 2.

Green flag is back out, and Ogle jumps the start and the caution flies again. Davis off with the lead and Ogle will follow, but Mills tries to challenge Ogle for the 2nd spot. Miller in 4th, as Mills takes over the 2nd spot and will set his sights on the race leader, but caution will void that as the blue/yellow #27 (sorry, not sure which was which) spins in turn 4.

Green flag is back out! Davis fires to the lead, as contact is made between Miller and Ogle, and Miller will have a flat right-front tire here on lap 5 and caution will fly.

Green flag is back out, and Davis fires, and Mills is all over the rear bumper of Davis. Ogle still in 3rd, as the #18 of Tony Lindsey is in 4th and Larry Rudd rounds out the top 5. Mills powers to the inside of Davis on lap 7, nothing doing yet, he’ll look again as they come off turn 4, still nothing as they’ll continue to log laps. Davis and Mills in a heated battle for the lead, as caution flies here as the #9 of Quinn Bender spins in 4 here on lap 9 as Mills powered to the inside of Davis for the lead off turn 2.

Green flag is back out, and we’ll try this one more time…11 laps remain! Davis fires and pulls away as they head into turn 1, Rudd makes a move and pulls into 4th, as he’ll look to battle Ogle soon. Mills still in 2nd, Ogle 3rd, and Rudd now 4th. Davis still in command, as Mills has fallen back off the lead a little bit, but is trying to run down Davis. Ogle now pulling away from Rudd, as the #18 will look to challenge, but here on lap 12, Mills powers to the inside of Davis off turn 4, they’ll continue the battle for another lap, as he’ll pull to the inside on lap 14 for the lead, but nothing doing yet! Rudd has fallen back into the clutches of the Lindsey, but the #9-J.D. Baker spins in turn 2 and caution will fly here on lap 15.

Green/white/checkered on this field, as the time limit has expired on this feature! GREEN FLAG! Davis powers to the lead, but Mills is going to give it his all. Ogle in 3rd, Rudd in 4th as they exit turn 2. Mills gets loose off turn 4 coming to get the white flag as he’ll pull to the infield with some smoke coming from the car, as Rudd and Ogle make heavy contact off turn 2 on the last lap and Ogle will retaliate immediately. Checkered flag will drop on this field. #18-Tony Lindsey will move from 3rd to 1st, but the official scoring is, we go back to the last complete lap. As of the white flag, #70-Phil Davis in the lead, 2nd was the #49-Jason Ogle, 3rd was the #88-Larry Rudd, and 4th was the #18 of Tony Lindsey.

Green flag back out, McCarter powers up and powers away as they head down into turn 1. Ogle in 2nd, Ray 3rd, and Engel 4th. Engel now tries to power to the outside of Ray, but he’ll have to fall in line. McCarter continues to pull away, as the #07-Bobby Pressley spins in 4, but we stay green. Ogle still trying to track down McCarter, but nothing doing yet as we complete 13 laps. Checkers are out, McCarter wins, Andy Ogle takes 2nd.

Classics #2 (5/22)
Green flag is out on the Classic feature. #51-Mack McCarter out to the early lead, as the #98 of Marvin Ray will look to the inside of the #68 of Andy Ogle and take the 2nd spot here on lap 2. Fast forward to lap 5, McCarter still out front and has pulled away with this one. Ray and Ogle trying to put on a show. Fast forward to lap 11, the #07 of Bobby Pressley spins in turn 2 and caution will fly.

Green flag back out! Collins takes off the lead, as Scalf spins again in turn 2 and caution will fly for a moment. Green flag is back out. Collins back into the lead, but the action is getting intense behind them, as Gardner makes it 3 wide, but nothing doing. Collins still in command. Caution is out here on lap 4 as the #17 of Mark Rosner spins and #71-McCarter and several others spin as well, but no damage.

Green flag is back out, as the #B15-Brian Patty jumps the start, but here comes Lewelling, he’ll look to the inside of Collins, but Collins powers away, as caution is waved as Patty is put back where he belongs. Lewelling on the inside of Collins as they go green, but nothing doing, Collins powers away, as Gardner looks to the inside of Lewelling. #74-Clyde Stanton now puts pressure on Gardner, and Gardner puts pressure on Lewelling. Bright slows here on lap 7 with a flat tire and will make contact with the #30 of Ryan King.

Green flag is back out! Gardner powers to the inside and takes over the lead, and forces Collins high, as Gardner takes over the lead, Here comes Stanton, he’s on the inside of Collins, it’s a 3 way battle for the lead now here on lap 9. Clanton pulls a slidejob on Collins, but Collins returns favor and he’ll run down Gardner. Gardner trying to pull away from Collins, but that’s not quite happening. Collins running him down. Gardner powers to the inside of lapped traffic as caution is out for King who’s made heavy contact with the outside wall. His night will be done.

Green flag is back out, Gardner takes off with the lead, Collins trying everything he can, but he doesn’t have anything for Gardner yet here on lap 14. Collins still trying to find a better way around the track. Collins powers to the inside of Gardner putting the pressure on, but it doesn’t phase Gardner yet. Stanton catching those 2. #B00-Josh Henry now finds himself in 4th. Caution is out here on lap 20 for the #17 of Rosner in turn 4.

Green/white/checkered, GREEN FLAG!  Gardner feels the heat from Collins, as he’ll try to make his way around, white flag for Gardner, Collins, Stanton. Collins with a last ditch effort, but nothing doing, as Scott Gardner picks up the feature win!

Late Models #2 (5/22)
Green flag in the air, as this stellar field of late models are set to do battle! #63-Josh Collins was the fast time qualifier, outside of him is the #B00-Josh Henry! Collins takes over the top spot, as Henry falls into 2nd. #24-Greg Martin in 3rd and here comes the #07-Jason Cardwell on the inside of #74-Clyde Stanton, but caution will fly here on lap 1 as contact will bunch up a few of the cars. #71-Pierce McCarter and #79c-Mike Bright gets a piece of the incident, as well as the #99-of Justin Summers and the #17 of Mark Rosner all involved.

Green flag back out on the late model field! Collins powers to the lead, Henry in 2nd, but here comes Greg Martin. Martin makes contact with Henry and will take over the 2nd spot, as the #25 of Gardner slows in turn 4, and caution will fly with 3 laps in the books.

Green flag is back out, lets try this again! Collins off with the lead, but here comes Martin, but Henry POWERS past Martin, and give him the 2nd spot! Stanton is in 4th and Cardwell 5th. Collins still out in front, Henry 2-wheelin’ into turn 1, as the #44-Rick Rogers looks to the inside of the #1 of Steve Jones, nothing doing as 6 laps are in the books. Caution here on lap 6 as the #0 of Ross White spins off turn 2.

Green flag in the air again! Collins takes off with the lead again, Henry in 2nd, Martin 3rd, as he’ll feel the heat from Stanton, as White powers around Rosner, Summers, and the #71 of Brian Courtney on the same lap! 9 Laps in the books, Collins in the lead, Henry running him down, but Stanton and Martin battling tooth and nail for 3rd, as Cardwell looks to catch those. 12 laps in the books, Rogers around Cardwell, and White makes a move around McCarter and the #00-Reuben Mayfield. Back up front, Collins battling lap traffic, Henry a little ways back, Martin 3rd and Stanton 4th. Caution flies here on lap 15 as the #71 of Pierce McCarter spins in turn 2.

Green flag! Collins takes off with the lead, Henry in 2nd, but Martin wants a piece of the pie, but he’ll just have to follow at this point. Henry now looks to the inside of Collins for the lead here on lap 16, but nothing doing. Rogers is now doing battle with Stanton, as he has a spoiler full of Cardwell behind him. Henry still trying to run down Collins, but nothing doing yet. 20 laps are in the books, Collins in the lead, Henry 2nd, and Greg Martin 3rd. Rogers still looking for room around Stanton, but he will just have to fall in line, as Stanton puts pressure on Martin. Collins still well in control of this one right now, as Henry can just watch as Collins gets smaller out his front window. 5 laps to go, caution will fly as the #07 of Jason Cardwell will leave a trail of fluid behind his car and slow to a stop just off the track.

It will be a 5 lap shootout here for the stellar field of late models. GREEN FLAG!!! Collins jumps out to the lead, but here comes Henry, he wants a piece of this lead, but he’ll lose that battle off turn 4. McCarter spins in turn 2, but no caution. Martin 3rd, but caution will fly yet again with 4 laps to go as the #79c of Mike Bright drops fluid in turn 2.
