RACE NIGHT RECAP

Mod-Mini
And the green flag is in the air on this feature! #65-Todd Spivey takes the early advantage, but #92-Cory Cate is up on the outside for 2nd as #39-Tim Ladd looks to take over 2nd, contact is being made, but there’s no problem with rubbin’! #01-Rocky McNabb, who started last in the field, has already moved up, but as I’m typing, McNabb makes contact with the #44-Tommy Metler, resulting in a flat left-rear for Metler, here on lap 2.

Green flag is out again, and Spivey takes off with the lead, but Ladd is looking for some running room, as the #111- looks to make it a 3-way battle as caution will fly again for debris.

Green flag again, Ladd looks to the inside of Spivey, nothing doing, as McNabb now moves up to 6th, make that 5th here on lap 3! Caution here on lap 5 as the #111-Shane Maxwell spins on the frontstretch.

Green flag is out again. McNabb now on the in 3rd but goes a little too low and gets in the mud, Spivey still in command here on lap 7 as the #01 of McNabb now takes over the 3rd spot, as Ladd looks for the lead, but Spivey has none of it. 9 laps in the books, Ladd putting the pressure on Spivey. Caution is out here on lap 11 as Maxwell gets into and spins Cate in turn 1.

Green flag is out again. Spivey with the advantage off 2, but here comes "Rooftop"! McNabb looking to the inside of Ladd, but nothing doing. Now Ladd looks to the inside of Spivey. Lap 13, it’s anybody’s race as the Top 3 can be covered with a blanket, but Spivey loses speed down the backstretch, and Ladd takes over the lead as McNabb will battle for the win with 4 laps to go! Spivey still in command, and the checkered flag will fly on the field! Ladd picks up his 3rd straight win, McNabb 2nd, and 3rd will be the #111 of Maxwell.

Topless Modifieds
Green flag is out on this one, and we’re underway! #3-Ronnie King gets the early jump, but #44-Keith Gregory is still there, as the #00-Jeff Akard slows to a stop in 2. No laps up on the board and we’ll have a complete restart!

Green flag as we’ll try again! And King with the early jump again, but Gregory isn’t going away, as the #94-Luke Fox and #21-Dusty Lay get together on the frontstretch and #31-Johnny Ridings pulls off with a flat left-rear.

Green flag is out again, and King gets the jump again, as now only 4 cars remain. Gregory trying to run down the leader. 7 laps are in the books, and King is still in command, but don’t count out Gregory yet. Gregory still biding his time, as we have 4 laps to go. White flag in the air, as Gregory still searches for a fast line, but nothing doing as King gets the win. Gregory 2nd, and #D00-Josh Driskill 3rd.

Super Trucks
Green flag is out on this field, as #14-Robert Martin jumps to the lead, #9-Rocky Ogle settles in 2nd, #74-Freddy Hillard 3rd, #42-Robbie Comer, who started last, is already up to 4th, now looking for 3rd. Ogle trying to scratch and claw his way to the lead, but Martin is still in command, as Comer makes more contact with Hillard as Ogle looks inside of Martin and takes over the lead, Martin now with the crossover, but that won’t matter on the straightaway, as the caution is out as Comer makes contact with #14-Martin, cutting the left-rear tire down on the #14.

Green flag out again on the field, as Comer now finds himself in last place. But now here he comes, taking over the 3rd spot, Comer makes a clean pass as he has a windshield full of Hillard and Ogle. Ogle starts to pull away on lap 8 as Comer makes contact with Hillard, and the right side is bashed in on the #42 of Comer. 9 laps in the books, Comer now on the inside of Hillard once more off 2, but nothing doing as they’ll drag race, now Comer takes over the 2nd spot after running Hillard up the track and into the marbles. Lap 13, Comer now running down the #9 truck of Ogle, Hillard watching and waiting, as Comer now looks for the lead off 4 with 5 laps to go. Hillard now is trying to mount a comeback, as Comer now looks to the inside of Ogle, nothing doing off 4 with 3 to go! White flag in the air, Comer looking to the inside of Ogle, off turn 2, Comer looks to make a charge as they dive into 3, they’re side-by-side as they exit turn 4, they’ll drag race to the checkers and Rocky Ogle will pick up the checkers for his first win!

Street Stocks
Green flag is out on the Street Stocks! #70-Phil Davis gets the early jump into 1, but #3-Mark Meadows is still hanging on, but Davis will take over the top spot. #75-Brad Mills now assumes 2nd, as Meadows will drop back to 3rd. Lap 4, here comes the #9 of Brian Dinkins, as it’s now a 4 way battle for the lead. But now here comes #11-Raymond Shepard, as he’ll look to make this a 5 way battle for the lead! Throw a blanket over your top 5! 7 laps down, Meadows all over the back of Mills and Dinkins all over his rear, but here comes Shepard, as he looks to take over 4th, and they’ll battle this one tooth and nail. 10 laps in the books, 10 to go, we’re still green, Mills and Meadows battle, but Meadows finally makes hard contact with Mills, and Mills will be done for the night. The caution was good timing, as rain is starting to fall on the field, but it’s just light so far and the field gets the one to go.

Green flag back out on the field! Davis with the lead, Dinkins in 2nd, Shepard in 3rd. Dinkins all over the tailpiece of Davis, nothing doing, as Shepard now looks to take over 2nd, but nothing doing there either. Caution will fly on Lap 12 as the #52-Justin McCarter slows to a stop in turn 2.

Green flag is out again as now only 4 cars remain. Davis picks up where he left off, but here comes Dinkins. All over the tailpiece of Davis again, trying to find a line around Davis, but nothing doing, but now off turn 2, he looks inside but Davis slams the door shut, through 3 and 4, several cars make contact, and in the end, Shepard will pull off with a flat right-front tire. #9 of Dinkins is being black-flagged after leaving a trail of fluid on the track. Now here on lap 14, we’re now left with 3 cars.

Green flag is out, and time has expired on the field, so it’ll be a green/white/checkered! Davis takes off with the green, and Meadows looks to the inside, but won’t happen, as Shepard looks to take over 2nd, and the white flag is out, Davis leads, Meadows 2nd, and here comes Meadows, he’ll run into the #70 and give him a big push going into 3, he’ll try to power to the inside off turn 4, but won’t have enough steam, as Davis takes the checkers, his first-ever feature win!

Classics
Update on the weather: we’ve dodged a light shower! Green flag is out on the Classics, this is sure to be a dandy. "The Rocket" #17-Robbie Sands takes over the lead and picks up where he left off in the heat race, but here comes the #32-Marcus Baxter off 4 here on lap 1. But that’ll be shortlived, at least for the moment, as he’ll fall into the clutches of the #51-Bart Baxter. Lap 3, Sands still in command of this one and pulling away slightly with each lap, and the rest of the field has pretty much lined up single file. #51-B. Baxter all over the #32-M. Baxter, and behind them, #68-Andy Ogle is all over #98-Marvin Ray for 4th place. The action is still calm, as we complete lap 8. Sands still in command, Marcus Baxter in 2nd, Bart Baxter in 3rd, as they continue to battle. Sands now finds himself behind 2 lapped cars that are racing hard, and will have to back peddle a little off 4, that’ll allow the Marcus and Bart Baxter to close up, as Ray looks to the high side on the #51. Sands trying desperately to get around the lapped cars, as Ray now looks to take over 2nd, but will get boxed in, as contact is made, but we’ll stay green as lightning is seen in the distance. Contact between #1-Ed Merriman and #51 as they get together and spin to the infield, still no caution, and now here on lap 18, #32 of Marcus Baxter slows with a flat right-front, and will make his way around and off the track. White flag is out on the field, Sands has checked out on Marvin Ray, Andy Ogle in 3rd, and the checkers will fall, Rocket Robbie Sands picks up the feature win, 2nd is Marvin Ray, and 3rd is Andy Ogle.

Late Models
We have a nice stellar field of 19 late models, and this is sure to be a barn burner with alot of fast late models!

GREEN FLAG! #29-Jason Welshan pours the coal to them and blisters the field on the start, and the caution will fly as Welshan jumped the start. Take 2! GREEN FLAG! Much better start this time, but Welshan takes over the lead. #66-Adam Beeler takes over 2nd, and #30-Ryan King now battles the #10-Jason McMahan. Welshan pulling away, Beeler in 2nd, 3rd is McMahan, as they all try to chase down Welshan. #63-Josh Collins on the outside of #74-Clyde Stanton, and will take over the spot and Collins looks fore more. Meanwhile, Welshan now in heavy lapped traffic, as we have action all around the track. Beeler still trying to run down Welshan, McMahan 3rd, King 4th. Caution will fly on lap 7 as Beeler gets up on 2 wheels, almost rolling it over. Beeler is out of the car despite a hard landing on the left side.

Green flag is out! Welshan smokes the field on the start again, and we have trouble behind him off 2. #19-Johnny Lane gets loose and gets tagged and several cars spin in the process, no harm, no foul as we’re 7 laps in.

Green flag! Welshan again with the huge start, McMahan tries to run him down, but Welshan will check out quick. King in 3rd, Collins looking for running room for 5th, and takes it! 9 laps in, Welshan tearing up the field, as he’ll already start lapping cars. McMahan now gets up on 2 wheels slightly, as this track is really hooked up tonight! Collins up to 4th, but they’re all chasing Welshan. Welshan now has trouble negotiating a lap car and almost spins but keeps it under control, action is heating up behind them though, McMahan gets up on 2 wheels again, as they’re trying ANYTHING to catch Welshan, as #B00-Josh Henry will spin off 2 here on lap 17 to bring out caution again.

Green flag! Welshan again nails the throttle and pulls ahead by 6 cars as they head into turn 1. Collins now on the inside of King as he’ll look for 3rd spot. Nothing doing as King pulls away and Welshan pulls away also. King now on the inside of McMahan and Collins right there as well. Welshan has flat checked out as he already has a straightaway lead on the field, as we complete 21 laps. McMahan 2nd, King 3rd, Collins 4th, and Stanton 5th. Caution will fly on lap 22 as the #79c-Mike Bright slows to a stop in 4.

Green flag! Welshan yet again pulls away on the start and pulls ahead by several car lengths, but here comes Collins, he’ll look to the outside of King, but King will slam the door. Welshan now pulls away, McMahan though isn’t losing touch yet but as we speak, McMahan will get up on 2 wheels just like Beeler and almost in the same exact location, in the middle of 1 and 2, and his night will be done.

King now finds himself in 2nd place, but he’ll have to hold of Collins first. GREEN FLAG is out, and we’ll have 6 laps remaining! Welshan gets the jump, but King says no! He’ll stay glued to the bumper of Welshan, but nothing doing, as Collins now looks for running room around King, as we have 4 laps to go! Welshan on his own continent out front now, as Collins looks to the inside of King. White flag is out, Welshan has flat checked out, but the battle is for 2nd, Going into 3, Collins looks for running room, but nothing doing as the checkers drop, Welshan wins, 2nd Ryan King, and 3rd Josh Collins.

Pure Mini
Green flag is out on the Pure Mini’s, and #25-David Singleton will get the jump, and the #23-Anthony Singleton will look 3 wide for 2nd, but nothing doing as he’ll settle back in the 4th spot. #25-David Singleton takes off with a commanding lead in this one, as Anthony Singleton looks to mount a comeback, and he’ll look to the inside of the #88-Chris Allen, and now the #88 will start to smoke and he’ll make the pass. #25-Singleton trying to hold King at bay, as Anthony Singleton is 3rd. Fast forward to lap 8, King has caught David Singleton, but catching is one thing, passing is another. King will follow in the tiretracks of the #25 and wait for a mistake. Lap 14 in the books, David Singleton has now pulled away from King, and has about 8 car lengths, as Anthony Singleton has caught King. 4 laps remain in this one, as King slows down the backstretch and oil sprays on the headers igniting a fire, he gets it to a stop and gets out of the car as the fire extinguishes itself.

The winds have picked up dramatically suddenly, and the checkered flag will drop on this feature to allow fans to safely make their way to their vehicles!
