RACE NIGHT RECAP
Mod-Mini Green flag in the air for the Mod-Mini division. #2-Terry Poore pulls out to the early advantage. Battle is for 2nd now as the #92-Cory Cate and the #13-Chris Kelly batle door to door, with the #41-Brian Berkley and #44-Tommy Metler battling side-by-side for 4th. #2-Poore still in command as the #13-Kelly and #92-Cate continue their battle, but the #41-Berkley has pulled ahead of the #44-Metler. #92-Cate pulls out to advantage over #13-Kelly as the caution flies on lap 6 for debris. Green flag back out on this one as #2-Poore pulls away yet again on the start. #92-Cate in 2nd and the battle is on for 3rd as the #41-Berkley bumps the #13-Kelly off 2, and the #41-Berkley pulls away for 3rd. The field has went single-file in this one, as #2-Poore continues to pull away from the #92-Cate. The battle heats up for 2nd as the #41-Berkley has caught the #92-Cate with the #13-Kelly in tow. White flag is out as tempers flare in 1 and 2 between the #41-Berkley and #13-Kelly. This race will end under green, and #2-Poore will claim the checkers in this one. Topless Modifieds The green flag is out on this feature. #31-Johnny Ridings launches off turn 2 for the lead as #44-Gregory falls into 2nd, but not so fast, here comes the #44-Gregory looking for the lead, but now the #23-Layne Clifton looks for 2nd, nothing doing as the #44-Gregory continues to challenge for the lead of this one. #31-Ridings up high, #44-Gregory down low, still side-by-side for the lead as the action starts to fire up behind them. #22-Michael Milsap, who started last, has already moved up 6th. #44-Gregory powers to the inside for the lead in 3, as the #23-Clifton now moves up to 2nd. #22-Milsap looking for 5th, as the #44-Gregoy starts to pull away from the #23-Clifton as caution flies in 2. #44-Gregory has damage on the right-rear quarter after contact between he and the #23-Clifton after caution. Green flag back out on this feature. #44-Gregory starts to pull away as the #22-Milsap loses power, we stay green. Now caution is out again on lap 8 as the quarter panel comes off the #44-Gregory. Green flag out once more and the #44-Gregory takes off to a nice lead, but don’t yet count out the #23-Clifton as he’s just stalking the #44-Gregory. Caution out again as the #420-Tyler James spins off 2. Green flag out once again on the field. #23-Clifton doesn’t let the #44-Gregory get out to much of an advantage this time. #44-Gregory still in command of this race. #D00-Josh Driskill has moved up from the back, up to 4th place now as we complete lap 13. #44-Gregory still in command as #420-James spins again in the middle of 1 and 2. Green flag is out again on this feature, as the #31-Ridings makes heavy contact with the #23-Clifton for 2nd place, and the #23-Clifton and #31-Ridings are placed at the rear. #D00-Driskill now finds himself in the 2nd position, as we go green once again. #44-Gregory takes the low line as the #3-Ronnie King runs the #D00-Josh Driskill into the wall off 2. No caution as the #44-Gregory pulls away from them as the #420-James spins again down the backstretch, strike 3 and the #420-James will receive the black flag. Green flag back out on the field as it’s still anybody’s race. #44-Gregory starts to pull away but the #3-King still looking, but nothing doing as the white flag is out on this field. Off turn #4, #44-Keith Gregory will pick up his first feature win in the Topless Modifieds. #3-Ronnie King 2nd, and #57-Marvin Romines 3rd. Super Trucks Green flag is out on this feature, as the #42-Robbie Comer picks up where he left off last week. The field has gotten single-file in this one, but the battle rages for 4th between the #14-Robert Martin and the #2-Steve Hillard, which despite smoking on the #14-Martin, isn’t much of a battle! The #14-Martin is starting to track down 3rd place even as the smoke intensifies slightly. Black flag is out for the #14-Martin, too much smoke to continue. #42-Robbie Comer now with over a straightaway lead over 2nd place #74-Hillard. #42-Comer wins this one, for his 2nd feature win of 2010. Street Stocks Green flag is out on the Street Stock feature. #11-Raymond Shepard pulls away from the field on this one as #75-Brad Mills moves into 2nd and the #20-Mike Goudelock moves into 3rd. The action is rather tame in this one, and the checkered flag will fall on this feature as #11-Shepard picks up his 2nd feature win of the 2010 season. Classics Green flag is out for the Classics division, as the #3-Jay Eubanks takes the advantage as #8-Joe Keck spins off 2 and will rejoin the field from the rear as we will see a complete restart. Green flag is back out as the #3-Eubanks will run door-to door with the #51-Bart Baxter with #6-Logan Dukes looking to make it 3-wide for the lead, as the #57-Drew Kennedy will spin in the middle of 1 and 2, and we’ll get another complete restart here, as #57-Kennedy will re-join the field in the rear. Green flag is out, as #6-Dukes takes off with the lead, and the action heats up behind them. #6-Dukes out front, battle for 2nd between the #17-Robbie Sands and #3-Eubanks, #17-Sands pulls away as the #34-Philip Shockley looks to make it a 3-way battle for 2nd. #57-Kennedy looking to make his run up through the field, he now finds himself in 5th, as the action has gotten tame through the rest of the field. #17-Sands looking to hunt down the #6-Dukes as the #3-Eubanks has taken over 3rd, but here comes the #57-Kennedy from the rear, and he wants a piece of that action, and will drive by the #3-Eubanks for 3rd. But wait, not yet, the #3-Eubanks powers back to the outside, but give the spot to the #57-Kennedy, as he takes the spot and will hunt down the leaders. #17-Sands has caught the #6-Dukes, and will try to mount a charge, as the rear bumper comes off the #3 or Jay Eubanks in turn 1 and caution will fly on lap 10. Green flag back out on the field, as the #6-Dukes tries to pull away, but here comes the #57-Kennedy, as he makes a run and takes over 2nd and he sets his sights on the lead! lap 12, the #57-Kennedy has mounted his charge, and is side-by-side for the lead up high, but the #6-Dukes wants to keep it as they charge into turn 3. The #6-Dukes pulls away slightly but not by much, as the #17-Sands now looks to stick his nose in the battle for the race lead. Nothing there, and he lets his tires cool and looks to make a charge and takes the lead as the white flag flies! Off turn #4, #57-Kennedy will come from worst-to-first in the 20 lap feature, and claims the checkers in this one, as the Classics deliver yet another great race for the win! Late Models The green flag is out on this stellar late model field! #52-Scott Sexton takes the advantage, but the #07-Jason Cardwell is looking to keep up, as the #63-Josh Collins pulls up to 3rd. 3-wide action behind them, turns back to 2-wide, as we complete lap 2. #52-Sexton still out in the lead, but the #07-Cardwell and #63-Collins still looking, but here comes the #7-Heath Alvey to challenge the #63-Collins for 3rd, as the #52-Sexton starts to pull away slightly over the field. Lap 6, now the #63-Collins looks to challenge the #07-Cardwell for 2nd, but still nothing doing as the caution flag flies on lap 7 as the #77-Travis Reno noses into the frontstretch wall. The #7-Alvey also spun on the fronstretch, and has pulled off with a little smoke showing. And now the #07-Cardwell has developed an oil leak, and has pulled into the pits. Green flag is out again, as the #63-Collins looks to take the lead, but the #52-Sexton powers to the outside to reclaim the lead, but the #63-Collins isn’t going anywhere! Lap 8, #52-Sexton still in the lead, but the #63-Collins still looks for the lead, as the field continues to jockey for position. Caution is out on lap 10 as the #86-Matt Shockley spins in turn 2. Green flag is out once again on the field! The #63-Collins wastes little time to challenge for the lead, but still the #52-Sexton is in command. The #10M-Jason McMahan has found himself in 3rd with the #30-Ryan King in 4th, and the #29-Rusty Ballenger in 5th, as the #29-Ballenger looks for 4th on the #30-King, as caution flies again on lap 14 after the #3-Danny Floyd loops it in the middle of turns 1 and 2. Green flag is out again on this strong field of late models. The #52-Sexton with the advantage, but the #63-Collins is still trying to stay in touch with the #52-Sexton, but still there’s nothing doing as the lead duo charge hard into turn 3. This race is half over. The field has gotten single file and fairly tame, except now the #29-Ballenger looks to the inside of the #30-King, but nothing doing there as the #74-Clyde Stanton looks to add his name to this battle as we complete lap 19. Back up front, they’re still door-to-door through the corners, but give the advantage to #52-Sexton down the straightaways, as caution flies again on lap 20 for the #19-Johnny Lane who spins in the middle of 1 and 2. This is now a 10-lap shootout for the checkers, as the GREEN FLAG flies once more! #52-Sexton with the advantage, as the #63-Collins still looks for the lead, nothing doing. Caution flag flies once again on lap 21 as the #21-Scott Gardner spins in turn 4. Green flag as we have a 9 lap shootout. But nothing doing as the #22L-Bradley Lewelling spins in turn 2 to bring out the caution again. Green flag flies again, and the #52-Sexton takes the advantage once more, but the #63-Collins is not done yet. The #63-Collins is starting to gain momentum, but the #10M-McMahan is wanting to make this a 3-way battle for the win, as he’ll now look to challenge the #63-Collins. The #63-Collins has moved up to the high side, and is stalking the #52-Sexton, but give the advantage to the #52-Sexton, as we have 4 laps to go. The #63-Collins has cooled his jets and it now looking to the inside of the #52-Sexton to mount a final surge for the win, 2 laps to go! White flag is out and the #63-Collins makes a last-ditch effort as they charge into 3. Off 4, the #63-Collins gives it his all, but comes up short in this one as the #52 of Scott Sexton will pick up with #2 on the 2010 season! Pure Mini Green flag on the field. Battle for the lead between the #51-Dalton King and #3-Jeff Bean, but contact off turn 4 sends the #3 into a barrel-roll about a hundred feet. #3-Bean is out of the car and waves to the crowd that he is fine. Green flag is out, as the time limit has passed and this race will be ended on lap 5. #51-King takes the checkers, #29-Mike Townsend will finish 2nd, and #3-Bean will be scored 3rd.
